Emily VanCamp versus Daisy Ridley
(Words & Results: Lookout!)
Before: It’s a huge match-up for Disney tonight, with match-ups featuring some of their biggest stars from two of their biggest franchises (the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars), with the latter opening this month as one of the most anticipated movies of the year and the former releasing a recent trailer which has become the most-watched movie trailer of all time. To say that this is a huge match-up, with big implications for the Alpha status within the world of Disney, is an understatement.
Daisy Ridley grinning, just displaying the same enthusiasm for this match as she has for the role in Star Wars, almost bouncing on her feet as she meets the press, “Never tell me the odds. I can beat that stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder and she will never, ever forget it. While I may never turn to the dark side, I am going to turn the lights out for Emily tonight and too late she’ll find out - IT’S A TRAP!”
Emily smirking, “I find her lack of faith disturbing. Fear is the path to the dark side and she is trembling like a little rabbit over there. This is NOT the match-up she is looking for and if she doesn’t have a bad feeling about that, then I’m going to kick her ass. No question. Do or do not. There is not going to be any freaking try. This is going to be how Daisy’s dreams die - with thunderous applause…”
Daisy beaming as she bounds into the ring wearing a bright red sports bra with the words ‘Star Wars’ written across the front in golden letters and matching shorts, with the words “Gonna kick her butt to a galaxy far, far away.” as she wiggles her posterior upon entering the ring to show off. Emily just grinning like a Cheshire Cat as she wears a blue sports bra with the ‘Captain America’ shield emblem across her chest and matching shorts with the words “I can do this all day…” written across the back, as she also similarly wiggles her butt before heading right to the middle of the ring.
The two of them can’t seem to resist putting each other down with puns, but there is genuine intensity, dislike and maybe even a little respect behind them - as the two of them step up towards one another and stare each other down. The crowd roars with applause as the two of them shake hands, enjoying the display of sportsmanship in the calm before the oncoming storm. The bell rings and just like that, the storm and match is on!
During R1: Daisy storms out of the gates, chasing VanCamp to the ropes with a series of clubbing right hands that get mostly blocked, but Ridley’s blood is up! Hammering a short right hand in between Emily’s breasts, Daisy repeatedly nails crisp left hooks to the chin and moments into the round Emily IS DOWN! VanCamp wide-eyed, on her knees, gets her bearings and recovers nicely--rest of the way is a bitter struggle with Ridley cornering VanCamp, Emily with her right hand at her chin just opening up the left shoulder to clip little right counter uppercuts as Ridley bombs away to the blonde’s sides,. Ridley nodding, smiling confidently as she bludgeons her way to a 10-8 first.
R2: All Ridley as she walks Emily down, initiates shattering exchanges that force VanCamp to bail and seek open canvas, Ridley looks the harder puncher, Emily the slicker ring technician, sliding around the ring, staying off the ropes by turning the blonde--VanCamp just trying to contain the action as Ridley stomps forward. Down the stretch, Emily stepping back in good order, reverses field, shifts to her front foot to paint a smooth left hook across blonde belly, doubling it into a licking left uppercut, falling in to shoulder the stunned blonde onto her heels, then NAILING Daisy with a slinging left hook on the jaw and Ridley GOES DOWN! Beautiful hard hitting work with the left mitt putts Daisy on her butt and Ridley gets all tremble-bodied. However, round ends before VanCamp can consolidate - hateful glare from the blonde before she struts to her corner.
R3: Daisy shaking off the hurt, gets right back in top, outworking Emily, forcing her into retreat, but VanCamp still composed. Midway through the round, some sweet in and out action from Emily--pressing her shoulder into Daisy’s chest, pulling out to lick the fall away left uppercut across the chin, rocking back in with a slinging right hand on the temple, then a clinch-and-turn move leaves Daisy wobbly butt. Still, you have Ridley showing remarkable durability, takes over in the final minute, burying Emily under an avalanche of clubbing lefts and rights, VanCamp slipping and blocking very well, but there’s no getting under the pressure as she backpedals to the bell. However, despite the late flurry of offense, Emily takes the round wide.
R4: Daisy’s pace actually uptempos and Emily reacts in surprise. Ridley pounding away to the shoulders and arms of her foe, going body with both hands, working her way to the head - constant two-fisted pressure starts to break VanCamp down, Emily buffeted ropeside--right hand at her cheek, left hand low--she slips and rocks back trying to slip Daisy the incoming jab with some success--problem is the sheer volume of leather coming at her. Down the stretch, tireless brunette starts to plant vicious left hooks in behind VanCamp’s elbow - Emily’s face twisting in pain. Daisy piling on, Last few seconds are touch and go for the blonde as Ridley clubs her into a stupor - punching on after the bell as the ref jumps in. Ridley nodding, lifting her mitts, leaves Emily drained, hurting in the ropes.
R5: Back to back shutouts for Daisy as she starts to roll Emily up. VanCamp back on the ropes, looking very defensive, turning her shoulders, rolling, reaching to clinch - but not actively punching back, Ridley happy to work, scrubbing her close cropped head back and forth under Emily’s chin, fists working midsection, finishing up salvoes with a cracking left hook in right to the jaw. Emily’s curvy legs holding her up, but she’s starting to swell around the eyes and her ribcage has GOT to be hurting after 5.
R6: Emily shuffling to her left, shows Daisy the jab early and is picking Ridley off, but once again the brunette’s sheer energy is overwhelming. Clubbing, snapping lefts and rights beat arms, hips, torso and jaw as VanCamp just can’t defend it all and is forced ropeside once again, Ridley finishing up strong, helping herself to the dusky gut, bullying Emily back and clouting that pretty face with short rips from either shoulder. Ridley going chest to chest at the bell, forcing eye contact with the drained brunette - VanCamp just wants to get to her corner.
R7: Emily stepping out behind a perked up jab, has Daisy guessing at last, doubling up on the redefined, jerking a tight hook as Ridley tries to close and turning the blonde with a neat pivot to the left, Daisy a little over-anxious, trying to close the show, and VanCamp works some Boxing 101 stuff, walking Ridley into punches slipping Daisy’s overworked right hand and coming back with snapping left hooks on the chin. By the midway point, Ridley soaked up more punches than she has in the last 3 rounds and is visibly shaky - a hard lead right stuns her - VanCamp letting her hands go with vicious hooks and rights, snapping the fists back to her chest on follow through drives Daisy to a stunned seat at the ropes, Emily’s momentum carries her onto the blonde - VanCamp taking her time getting her legs out of Ridley’ face - Daisy up at 8. Daisy busted up, puts her dukes and waves VanCamp - crowd-pleasing eruption as Emily goes toe-to-toe--both girls getting lit up over and over in the brief, but violent interval to the bell.
R8: Both girls showing wear and tear--but legs look fresh after 8 punishing rounds. VanCamp goes in the offensive, stepping in off her jab to stick hard left hooks to the body--Ridley now giving ground with a pained expression, Emily step by step, punching with murderous leverage, backs Daisy to her corner and proceeds to administer a clinical beat down. Ridley getting NAILED--the slashing left hook on the jaw, the crashing right hand as VanCamp ducks in and down on follow through--and butt wobbling body work as Emily gets her hips into withering hooks to the liver, Ridley pushing punches back, eyes going glassy and she is staggered by chopping right hand on the cheek that leaves her helpless. VanCamp putting punches together, turns Daisy’s head with a whipping left hand, then SINKS the left the blonde’s taut midriff - Ridley GOES DOWN! Daisy on her face, mouthing mat in a groggy stupor, Sophia Bush only inches away screaming “Get away from her you blonde piece of…” as the roar of the crowd drowns the rest of the sentence, but it doesn’t matter - Ridley is OUT! KO8 Emily VanCamp takes down rising contender Daisy Ridley in a thriller.
After: At one point, it appeared Emily VanCamp appeared to be content with just working towards being the Alpha of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it now appears that her sights are set much higher. A potential acquisition of Fox, with all of their various superhero properties and other franchises, may open up a whole new wave of contenders against Emily. But at the moment, spoiling the night of Daisy Ridley seems to be enough as she listens to the crowd chant “E-V-C” with accompanying hand claps. Beaming around the ring, looking both tired and exhilarated, she accepts a towel from fellow Disney star Demi Lovato, who she shares a hug with.
One person she will not be exchanging a hug with, it appears, will be Daisy Ridley, who is still unconscious on the canvas. Emily accepts a red marker and a piece of paper, then glares at her prone rival as she pushes aside those working to wake her back up. Sliding down to straddle her as Emily takes the piece of paper with one hand to hold it up into Daisy Ridley’s face as she slaps at her face with the other. Just battering her rival’s face back and forth with her palm, the cracks audible as the crowd and referees watch in surprise until a soft moan accompanies the slaps as Ridley appears to be resuscitated.
Emily grins as she holds up the paper for the crowd to see as well with a flourish, showing off names like “Elizabeth Olsen”, “Rachel McAdams”, “Hayley Atwell.”, “Morena Baccarin”, “Margot Robbie”, “Melissa Benoist”, “Emily Ratajkowski.”, “Evangeline Lilly”, “Chloe Bennet” and “Daisy Ridley.” With savage, undisguised glee, Emily crosses off each name with that red marker confidently as she punctuates each swipe of the red marker with a bounce of her posterior onto the abused abs of Ridley. Ridley coughs and grunts, but each time she goes to say a word, a brutal slap cracks across her cheek to silence her until Emily finally says, “Who is the alpha? Say my name, Daisy.”
It’s a glare filled with enmity that comes back from Ridley, as a long second turns into eternity as Daisy appears to try to move Emily off of her through sheer willpower. But, in the end, Jedi mind tricks don’t appear to work on VanCamp as finally Daisy replies, through gritted teeth:
“You are, Emily VanCamp!”
Emily sticks out her tongue as she responds with a knowing chuckle, “I know…”
Emily then beams, blowing her a kiss before getting to her feet and throwing her hands into the air. The crowd roaring, seemingly enjoying this aggressive side of Emily that appears to be brought on by the competition - of which there is certainly plenty in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), both on film, television, Netflix and the wide world of superheroes in general.
Emily smiling as she mounts the turnbuckles, perched on proud legs as she pumps her fist and pats her firm tummy, just bellowing with excitement as she then addresses the press. Pointing to Daisy, who is being helped to her feet unsteadily, she winks, “The force is strong with this one. But guess what? I’m stronger. I’m a freaking Jedi Master and she is just a - what do they call them? Padawans? Regardless, if she thinks she is a Jedi knight or something, then she just learned Queen takes Knight. Check-freaking-mate and that goes for the rest of the division. I know Chloe is keeping my belts warm, but if Troian doesn’t take them back, then you can be sure I will. Nobody and I mean nobody is going to stand in my way…” as Emily VanCamp then puts on a pair of sunglasses and struts out of the arena victorious, calling out on her way out, “Don’t look to any Obi-Wan Kenobi for help fellow bantams - I’m your only hope!”
