BEFORE:

"It's nice to get a chance to get back in the ring," says Tricia with a shake of the head. "My phone hasn't been ringing all that much lately...because girls would rather take easier tests, you know? Give Gemma credit. She's not afraid of my kind of competition."

"She is what she is," says Gemma with a nod. "A two-time champion and one of the best boxers who ever stepped in an FCBA ring. And, I'm looking forward to getting a chance to show what I can do against her."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Season of the Witch' by Donovan, and here comes the bewitching star of FOX's 'Lucifer', Tricia Helfer!"

Cassie: "And, Gemma doesn't exaggerate. Tricia one of the greatest technical boxers in FCBA history. She's not 25 anymore, but she's still a dangerous opponent."

O'Dell: "Helfer wasting no time getting into the ring. She's helped off with the robe to reveal a sky blue bikini and a body that LOOKS like she's still 25..."

McCarthy: "Nothin' but a number."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'London Calling' by the Clash you hear, and here comes 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

Tess: "Arterton still right in the middle of the lightweight title picture, and she'll need a win tonight to stay there."

O'Dell: "Gemma into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that violet two-piece we've seen before and looking plenty good doing it. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Gems. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Nothin' but a number. Helfer!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "First underway, and Tricia using that looong left hand, popping the jab, keeping Gemma at arms length. Helfer moving the feet, dropping some nice right hands in behind the lefts. Not taking the blonde long to warm up here, ladies, and she's getting after Arterton right away..."

McCarthy: "Lot to be said for jumping on a girl right off the bat, and that's what Tricia's doing."

O'Dell: "Arterton adjusting a little now, moving more, angling. She's not going to stay out there on the end of Tricia's punches. You want to get yourself bewitched, that's exactly what you do. But, the brunette has other ideas. She's getting her own offense rolling now, using her own left to set up some right hands."

Cassie: "This is good stuff. Two very good boxers showing their respective wares."

O'Dell: "Back and forth we go as we head down the stretch. Both fighters scoring now and both playing plenty of solid defense, too. Neither woman landing an exceptionally high percentage despite the fact that both are very accurate punchers. Five seconds to go. Solid right from Helfer and there's the bell. Tricia, close."

Tess: "And, Helfer grabs the early lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: 'Two way boxing continues as we start the second. Helfer has the reach and wants to use it. Gems angling to get to where she can land. Lots of movement. Lots of punching. And, again, lots of good defense. AND THERE'S A SOLID RIGHT FROM GEMMA and that wobbled Tricia!"

Tess: "Talk about keyholing a punch!"

O'Dell: "No question about it. Just a sliver of space and Gems filled it with leather. Helfer now being backed up on shaky legs as Arterton looks to finish. Helfer up against the cables, leaning back in the ear muff, taking a thumping. Blonde firing back here and there, but not a lot on those punches..."

Cassie: "But, she's showing the ref she's still fighting."

O'Dell: "And, indeed she is. But, it's Gemma who's doing most of the scoring. Arterton landing heavy shot with both hands. Tricia slipping some, rolling with some, limiting the damage as much as possible. Ten seconds to go. Blonde going to survive the round. There's the bell. Gems wide."

McCarthy: "But Helfer still standing and we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Arterton looking to pressure early, but Tricia working that jab. Snapping out stinging lefts, slowing Gemma down. Arterton trying to work past, but Tricia's got the range and the timing down and she's stabilizing the front very, very well right now. No substitute for the kind of experience Tricia has, ladies..."

McCarthy: "Absolutely none. She's been in just about every situation before and knows how to handle them."

O'Dell: "Gems still wants to push the issue, but it's not happening. Blonde landing in combination now, forcing the brunette to cover up. Helfer in rhythm, getting this thing rolling right now, and that's very, very bad news for just about any lightweight in the world, because the bewitchin' is underway..."

Cassie: "No question about it, Jenny. She's got Gemma where she wants her, and she's keeping her there with those left hands, setting her up for hard rights. Everything Gems tries is getting countered sharply. Arterton can't get out of first gear and Tricia's screaming down the highway in fifth!"

O'Dell: "Final twenty seconds of a huge turnaround round for Tricia Helfer. Blonde jabbing, snapping back the brunette's head, landing a HARD right hand. Gemma backing, circling, trying to figure out some geometry here, but Helfer's stolen the protractor and she's beating the brunette with it to the bell. Tricia and wide."

Tess: "And, Helfer's back up 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Arterton less aggressive to start the fourth. She's dialing it back a little after Tricia made her pay in the last round. She's back to trying to work angles as Helfer scores with that left hand. Gems now gets off with a nice combination that backs the blonde up, but Tricia fires right back!"

Tess: "And, we're back to that two-way stuff again."

O"Dell: "Indeed, we are, and both fighters again looking comfortable on these terms. Tricia extending on those looonnnggg punches of hers. She's putting them together well yet again. Gems, meanwhile working to cut distance just enough for her to get her own hard leather on."

McCarthy: "Helfer still moving very well in the fourth round. Nothing wrong with those legs."

O'Dell: "Doesn't appear to be. We have 30 seconds left in this round, and both fighters working hard with both hands and feet. GOOD combination Gemma and Tricia fires right back again! Arterton forced to cover up but then the brunette bangs back and Helfer lands a good right at the bell! Glove tap before they turn back to their respective corners. GREAT round. Tricia. Close."

Cassie: "And, Helfer's got a 39-37 lead as we approach the half."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "We're into the fifth with Helfer snapping that jab in Arterton's face. Gemma angling, moving the head, looking to slip the left. Tricia a NICE combination that stops Gemma. Blonde circles left, resets. Arterton again looking to cut the distance a bit, offset the blonde's reach advantage..."

Cassie: "Tricia just boxing so well here. There aren't a handful of lights in the world who can box like this."

O'Dell: "Arterton a nice flurry there. Tricia covers up, gives a little ground and GETS NAILED WITH A RIGHT HAND! Gemma a straight right that caught Helfer and now the blonde's in trouble! Brunette pouring it on, backing her rival into the ropes and letting her have it. Again, Helfer playing some solid defense..."

McCarthy: "She's rolling with, moving the head, keeping the gloves up, picking off a lot of this stuff."

O'Dell: "But, there's enough flying that plenty's getting on target. We're down to twenty seconds in the fifth. Gemma trying to find the 'off' switch here, but it's plenty elusive. Ten seconds to go. Good right hand from Gems and there's the bell. For the second time, Tricia slips off the hook, but Gemma takes the round wide."

Tess: "And, it's a one-point fight, Helfer 48-47."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Second half of the fight begins with Arterton pressing the advantage. She's not getting too aggressive, though, not against a fighter like Tricia. Instead, the brunette's working forward, using the heavy jab, stepping in behind it, getting solid right hands on target. Helfer willing to trade space for time..."

Tess: "And, she's doing it laterally as well, staying off the ropes."

O'Dell: "She definitely doesn't want to be there. Gems continuing to be the aggressor here. Stepping in, landing some solid shot. Helfer covering up. Gemma working body. Tricia tying up, and Arterton ROCKS her with a right uppercut! Helfer stumbles backward and is DROPPED by a straight right hand!"

Cassie: "That was a BOMB!"

O'Dell: "Gemma heads to a neutral corner. Tricia down on her back, rolls to her right side. Count at three. Four. Five. Helfer pushing up to forearm and hip. Count at six. Seven eight. Tricia up to hands and knees at nine. TEN! She can't beat it. Blonde can't get off her knees and it's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

McCarthy: "Another lucky punch! Weirdo's got a POCKET full of horseshoes!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gems, that got tricky..."

Gemma (nodding): "You know, she's the best pure boxer I've ever faced. She's just ridiculously skilled. I didn't want to go points and cards with her. I wanted to try to bring my power to bear. And, when I got my shot, that's what I did."

Tess: "You're right in the title picture at the moment..."

Gemma (smiling): "Sure am. And, SOMEbody has to be the first Front Streeter to win a second title. Why not me?"
