Michelle Williams versus Dove Cameron

BEFORE:

Yes, we HAVE been here before. Dove Cameron, the lovely ingenue. Versus Michelle Williams, slayer of lovely ingenues. Michelle Williams, who loves nothing more than taking aspiring young flyweights to the woodshed and pounding the confidence out of them. THAT Michelle Williams. But, if Dove, who's had her struggles and is now, once again, without management, understands the danger, she also understands the opportunity. "I know what SHE thinks," the blonde says. "She thinks she's going to take me apart in there. But, she has no IDEA who she's dealing with. I'm an indie again now, and I need to make a splash to get some attention and catch on with another stable. And, what better way than taking out a Hall of Famer?"

"I have no idea who I'M dealing with?" says a hard-eyed Michelle. "ONE of us has no idea who she's dealing with, and the OTHER one is in the Hall of Fame."


ROUND ONE:

Williams getting her box on early. She's got some reach on Dove, and she clearly plans to use it. As usual, Mishy plenty accurate as she puts punches together, starts touching up the younger woman, building up some points and GETTING ROCKED! Cameron with a brilliant right hand and Mishy's staggered! Dove all in immediately, winging away with both hands and DROPPING WILLIAMS TO HER BACK! Crowd going NUTS! Is this really happening? Michelle stunned, staring up at the referee as he begins the count. Dove literally BOUNCING in a neutral corner, WILLING the count higher, knowing she's seconds from an all-time shocker...Mishy's up at eight. Ref gives her the mandatory and waives on Dove. Cameron all OVER the Hall of Famer for the remainder of the round, banging head and body, punishing the older woman for a minute and a half. But, despite her rival's best efforts, Michelle is still on her feet at the bell. But, Dove has a 10-8 lead after one.

ROUND TWO:

Cameron's corner is all about telling their girl to slow down, stick to the fight plan. But, despite their best efforts, there's just too much adrenaline. Dove comes out firing, gets a little wild, and gives Michelle the respite she needs. Williams stays on the defensive for the first minute, parrying and slipping punches, firing back the odd counter, playing for time, and, when the legs firm up, she begins firing back, landing punches in bunches as a frustrated Dove continues trying to push and advantage that isn't there anymore. As a result, Michelle grabs firm control and begins piling up both touches and points. By the closing seconds of the round, Dove's been thrown completely to the defensive. She's covering up, being backed up, unhurt, but taking a licking. At the bell, has grabbed the points and wide, cutting Dove's lead in half, to 19-18.

ROUND THREE: 

This time, the younger blonde listens to her corner. She comes out moving, angling, looking to slip Mishy's left jab, step forward, get off from middle distances. And, it works. Dove's getting her offense going early before ROCKING WILLIAMS AGAIN! Mishy staggered with another excellent right from Dove! Williams in full retreat for the second time in three rounds, and Cameron is pouring on the leather, another huge opportunity there for the taking. Again, she touches up and backs up a wobbly Williams. Mishy managing to stay off the ropes and on her feet, but not much more than that. Instead, Cameron's getting off lusty, PUNISHING the Hall of Famer, even digging some shots into the rack late in the round. By the late stages, Michelle is mouth-breathing, holding on to Dove for dear life as she tries to survive the round. She manages to. But, it's Cameron in shutout fashion, and the younger woman's back up by two, 29-27.

ROUND FOUR:

Dove now aims to finish. She's coming forward on Mishy, backing her up with solid shot. Williams giving ground grudgingly, but giving it nonetheless. She's trying to firm up her front, but can't do it, as the younger fighter's not getting sloppy now. She's staying patient, working to set punches up, and getting hard, accurate leather home. Williams staying off the ropes, countering in spots, but definitely getting the worst of things for the third time in four rounds. BOOM! Right hand counter and DOVE IS HURT! It's a perfect needle-eye right cross that sends Cameron stumbling backward. Mishy leaps into the breach and lets the hands go and DOWN. GOES. DOVE! Cameron dropped to her back by a blizzard of hard leather. Williams to a neutral corner to watch and wait. Dove trying to sit up, fails twice, finally manages it at eight, but, that's as much as she can do. It's OVER! The count passes Cameron by and your winner by KO4 is Michelle Williams!


AFTER:

Cameron absolutely bereft, sobbing on her stool in the aftermath. She was so CLOSE, close to a win that might have changed everything for her. Close. But, absolutely no cigar. Instead, it's another episode of "Michelle The Ingenue Slayer", and Mishy herself clearly plans to keep playing the role for a long, long time. "That was fun", says Michelle with a smile. "Give the kid credit, she landed a couple of lucky punches, but, in the end, she found out what they ALL find out, all these," she waives a hand dismissively before continuing, "CHILDREN who think they're going to come into this division and make a name for themselves against a REAL name like me. She's not in my league. And, she's never GOING to be."
