BEFORE:
Dollhouse’s second glorified redhead on show next, but Jessica Chastain definitely a different woman from main eventer Bella Thorne. The 41 year old is looking strong and ready to rumble for her age as she strides down the aisle in a white satin robe, red hair in a neat braided ponytail, waving her black and orange gloves to her many fans in attendance. Some people still say she’s too old for this game. Well, some people are dead wrong, according to her.
Earlier at the press conference, a respectful back and forth took place between the two acclaimed actresses.

"First of all, Amy Adams is an amazing actress. I'm a huge fan! And at the age of 43, she still looks incredible. She's been doing this boxing thing for about 8 years now and even though she's probably not as good at it as she is at acting, I'm sure she knows what she's doing in that ring. Probably way more than I do!” Chastain laughs as she addresses the reporters.

“I'm hoping that being younger (finally!) will give me some sort of edge” she continues. “Otherwise, it’s going to be a very tough fight for me. We're exactly the same height and have very similar builds. Hopefully, I can continue winning here tonight, but it’s going to be an interesting one for sure. I wish Amy good luck...may the best redhead win!”

“Well, Jessica…” Amy begins her reply, a tad affected by her counterpart’s words. “My boxing is just as fine as my acting, thank you very much…” to which the sounds of the arena crowd’s shouts of approval in the distance seem to suggest agreement. “And you’re going to find that out tonight. Like you said, I’ve been doing this for quite a while. If you think you can take me tonight, I welcome you to try…”

Jessica finally makes it to ringside where her team helps her out of her robe to reveal her sexy orange sports bra and tights ring attire.

Oh yes – and here comes her opponent! Ms Adams, whose turn out of the curtains is both upbeat and fun, the 43 year old still looking stunning in a beige colored one piece swimsuit and dark brown boxing gloves, striking a quirky, slightly embarrassed pose with a big smile on her face. Her hair held up in a high ponytail as she gleefully makes her way to the ring to a surprising amount of cheers. Seems like the crowd here is simply happy to enjoy these two acclaimed actresses going at it, regardless of favorites. And for good reason!

The stare down later in the middle of the ring still cordial, both women coming face-to-face, still grinning, and actually exchanging a handshake after the referee tells them to touch gloves. None of that young cocky behavior here, ladies and gents. And here we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Girls warming up in the first round, stepping sideways more than forward, Chastain still testing her sea legs and Amy just being Amy, biding her time to strike. Jessica however is first to draw blood with a rapid one-two quick snap of both fists into Amy’s nose, each blow accompanied by the cheer of a crowd and a louder yelp from the older woman. Jessica suddenly heartened, encouraged to go further, now flinging more jabs into Amy’s face whilst advancing step after step. Chastain starting to think to herself, ‘Hey - this boxing thing seems easy enough..._’ until she gets SOCKED in the mouth by one of Amy’s return punches. Jessica completely stunned, look of pain as tears well up in her eyes… Here comes Adams, looking to gain momentum… Her turn to harass, snap jabs into the face followed by occasional hook off her sides, driving Chastain back completely. Amy Adams knows how to play this game in the long haul, coming back at the end of the round with a close win. Chastain chastened (forgive the pun) - early success now lost so easily, forcing her to reevaluate her thinking.

ROUND 2:
Jessica understandably more measured as she begins the second round, hanging back and trying to stay out of range this time. Amy grinning behind those gloves, decides that it’s time to push her advantage. Chastain getting troubled with some powerful straight hands landing on her guard from afar, pushing her back a couple of steps at a time. The redhead having more trouble hitting Adams - each counter swing like she’s been taught countered again when Adams just weaves her upper body out of the way before planting a firm one on her cheek. Jessica not looking good, ladies and gentlemen, getting outplayed and outmanoeuvred. Until the last minute, when her back hits the ropes and Adams LUNGES in for the kill… Jessica though still having the faculties to duck under in reflex action, and the two women’s bodies CRASH into each other on the ropes. Jessica far from panicked, however, taking the opportunity to clinch up, before digging her glove into Amy’s body repeatedly in some stiff, lung-emptying shots to sternum. Bell rings and I think we’ve found Chastain’s ace up her sleeve, folks.

ROUND 3:
Jessica getting outplayed by inexperience in tactics, so she’s urged this round to do the opposite: just charge at her opponent and start swinging! Amy getting shocked by this new tactic when she’s forced to cover up her head in the opening seconds, Chastain dashing at her and battering the guard with multiple punches, then going after the tummy with more piercing shots. Adams unprepared for the onslaught, tries fighting back but doesn't seem to have an answer for the quantity of blows thrown at her face - each time she sticks a glove into Jessica’s chin, she receives twice or thrice the number back. Jessica needs to be careful still of her proximity to a dangerous foe. Adams quickly adapting in the second half of the round, now employing some clinch work of her own, controlling Jessica’s right arm with her left, before she JAMS that other hand up into the redhead’s chin! OUCH!! Jessica letting out a grunt, stunned, but doesn't let a second uppercut land, quickly clinches up as well, and the rest of the round turned into a wrestling match with both women jockeying for a better assault position. This is quickly descending into a brawl, folks, and the referee has to separate them when the time is up with them still growling into each other’s ears.

ROUND 4:
For her advanced age (according to pundits, not our opinion), Jessica still going strong as we enter the fourth. This scorched earth tactic seems to be working, so here she comes again hard and fast, at Adams. This time though, Adams is ready for her. A quick exchange of jabs to the face taken by both ladies but then Jessica throws a hard hook into the body, whilst at the same time, Amy Adams BLASTS a hook up high into the side of her face! Mutual gasps but it’s Chastain who took the brute force of that one not too well, goes staggering out of her middle stance into the ropes! UGH! Amy steadying herself… and here she comes! Body shots to Jessica’s midsection as she covers up on the ropes, followed by battering of more hooks off the cusp of her head as Jess just tries to hold on… Only thing that saves her is a lucky DUCK under one of Amy’s swings, then rushes forward to clinch arms around her fellow actress’ chest. Adams’ turn to struggle as her movement’s now controlled, being shoved backwards and then rotated so her back is now against the ropes… Girls spend remaining seconds catching their breaths, and by the time the referee separates them the time has already run out.

ROUND 5:
Both ladies showing plenty of heart as we head into the fourth round, though signs of aging inevitable with their bodies only being able to take so much abuse and give back in kind. Amy trying to rally early, ducks low and bull rushes ahead, catches Jess with some nice shots to the sternum as she pushes back. Jessica trying her best to sustain her momentum as well, but constantly being pressured backwards as she deals with Amy’s low hooks with punches of her own into Amy’s face and sides. Amy showing signs of wavering however in the last minute when a hook lands hard into her guard, rocking her head about and sending her slightly off kilter: all Jessica needs to do is fly at her swinging, all in... She’s doing it! Chastain slamming hook after hook off the sides of head, rattling the redhead relentlessly. Amy being driven backwards by short uppercuts to the guard and then shooting straight hands into her guts, as her guard begins to simply melt away from the continuous abuse! Jess times the knockout blow just right as a right hand sails in between the two forearms and CATCHES her FLUSH on the lips! UGHH! Adams lets out a dull groan as she CRUMBLES down to the canvas, head being swiveled off its hinges! She hits the canvas with a THUD, and she's clearly OUT! IT’S OVER!!

Official Decision: Jessica Chastain defeats Amy Adams via KO5!

AFTER:
Not a shocking win at all for the Dollhouse member - she said she could do it and she bloody well kept her promise! Elegantly striding to a corner of the ring, she raises both hands to the audience, big smile on her face - part happiness, part relief and part exhaustion.

Amy recovering, back to the ropes, knocked out eyes fluttering as she accepts a sip of water from her team whilst trying to register what the hell just happened there.

Jessica gracious in her win, however, approaching and kneeling down by her side to check on her condition. The two women then receive a standing ovation from the crowd as they climb back to their feet, one hand holding the other’s high in the air. It’s a far cry delight for the crowd with the knowledge that many top seed fighters would rather be caught dead rather than to celebrate their opponent’s achievements, but these two ladies classy as it can be as they head out of the arena together, heads held high.
