Kathryn Winnick (40, 5’4, 120 lbs, 3:2 FCBA, The Dollhouse)

Vs.

Scarlett Johansson (33, 5’3, 123 lbs, 32:36:3 FCBA, Free Agent)

Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE: It’s been an interesting road so far for the Dollhouse’s Katheryn Winnick in her career, beating Mendez and Vandervoort to start strong, then falling to Natalie Dormer and most surprisingly getting clobbered by Kim Kardashian, only to bounce back by FLOORING Nicole Scherzinger in shocking manner. She’s looking to add one more to her win column tonight with a possible prestigious win against the famed Scarlett Johansson, who’s a two-time Flyweight AND former Bantamweight champion. Pundits of course left scratching their heads at this Dollhouse booking: offering Winnick as sacrificial lamb is not going to help either one of these two girls’ careers in the long run.

Katheryn however not looking fazed by all the criticism, instead chooses to speak frankly about her recent difficulties in the ring at the pre-fight press conference: "I've had some unfortunate setbacks these last two months. I'm not proud of them, but it’s part of the learning experience. I've never been afraid of taking challenges head-on, and tonight I'm doing just that by taking on a former champion.”

The Dollhouse blonde continues. “Scarlett has 70 fights under her belt. That's… A LOT.” She chuckles. “Most women in my position would think going up against someone like her is a terrible mistake. She's younger, she's strong, and she's got all the experience in the world, PLUS the fact that she's a former CHAMPION... I definitly know I'm the underdog here tonight but I never doubt my abilities, and I’m confident I can beat her. Not to mention, I REALLY need this win. I think that makes me a dangerous opponent for anyone, and so…hopefully I can stay focused tonight, fight to the best of my ability, and prove I'm capable of taking down a former multiple-time champion."

Scarlett smiles politely at Winnick before delivering her own statement. “It’s true that I haven’t been in the ring for a while. But don’t forget, my role as Black Widow is incredibly demanding on screen. I do all those stunts myself, you know? So I definitely stay in shape outside of boxing. Why accept this fight? Because I think Katheryn is a good avenue to get me back into things. Because I do respect her for having the stones to challenge someone like me. But also because I know I can probably beat her easily,” she concludes in that cocky tone.

Its fight time - upbeat music filling the arena which we immediately recognize as Katheryn Winnick’s theme song. Confident, poised, sexy - it’s a perfect choice of song to match her personality as she strides down the ramp in her Dollhouse uniform, a black satin robe covering her usual white sports bra and matching white tights and boxing gloves, blonde hair tied up high into a battle bun. Katheryn takes her time, happily taking photos with some very lucky fans on the way to the ring before finally making it into the ring and to her corner, followed by Kristanna Loken as the Dollhouse’s head trainer.

Scarlett’s own journey down the aisle quieter by comparison but the blonde is all smiles as she bursts through the curtains and quickly makes her way to the ring, looking completely confident and in top form. She’s wearing a sexy black one-piece swimsuit underneath a long black satin robe. Dark gray boxing gloves and her blonde hair in a high ponytail completing her look. As her opponent has mentioned, Johansson was (and is still considered by some to be) the Queen of the ring back in her heyday. Her popularity skyrocketed with the advent of the Avenger and Marvel movies, but recently she just hasn’t managed to find any fights that suited her, instead choosing to focus on her acting career.

There ya have it folks. Blondes readying for battle in the ring. Stakes are high for both women but both girls happily touch gloves before the referee finally waves his hand for the bell to start. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1: Scarlett shows everyone what exactly that ‘stunt training’ was all about, easily firing jabs unto Kath’s face early on. Winnick like being thrown into the deep end here and it’s not looking good - her face harassed continuously with a steady advance from Johansson, who’s probably done this speed bag drill thousands of times. Kath trying to scratch back in second half with wild swings at Jo’s head missing when she simply weaves backwards out of the way, but then another hook aimed low finds its target and BANGS off of Jo’s body. Winnick finding some encouragement to continue, deciding to target the blonde’s body for the rest of the round. Now both girls slapping leather into the other, but we’re still gonna go with Scarlett by close margin this opening round - she just did more much earlier.

ROUND 2: Kath needs to find her rhythm quick, especially if she wants any chance against a former champion who’s been in this situation countless times before. They say that experience is not just the number of matches you’ve been in, but by virtue of just BEING in the ring, feeling the danger posed by your opponent in front of you, surrounded by thousands of fans… that is half the battle won, IF you can can used to that pressure. Well, Kath proves to be a quick-study. She starts to mimic Scarlett’s footwork to avoid her offense. Each time Jo moves forward to attack, Katheryn backing away, and the punches either land harmlessly on her guard or swish at air in front of her nose. Kath waiting for her opponent to visibly tire, and then begin her own attack: long jabs hit the face from afar, Jo’s reaction time slowed as she realises now too late that she’s been baited in and now the one getting outplayed. Kath quickly picking up the pace, more shots to the face and then venturing to the belly and chest, driving Jo back for each step gained prior. Round ends with an impressive show of force for the Dollhouse member, proving that perhaps she really can stand and bang with royalty.

ROUND 3: Slowly dawning on Johansson that she’s fighting no ordinary newbie here. Winnick calm as she advances now, intending to pressure her some more. Scarlett in crisis moment, hasn’t decided on which tactic to stick with, ends up getting stuck with punches from Kath as she exploits the blonde’s confusion with punches to her face, body and even the chest. Scarlett getting battered, shoots back into Kath’s tummy but having no slowing effect on the raging blonde. She finally decides enough is enough, scooting away and back out of range. Better to take some time to regroup than to find yourself knocked out on the floor, I guess. Kath also catching her breath, chest heaving, considers chasing after but decides that might be counterproductive at this point… she’s taken the previous two rounds with hard-fought effort. Hopefully she can maintain this momentum!

ROUND 4: Both girls begin as they did in the opening round - slightly cautious and hanging back. The difference is now they both know what the other girl is capable of, and when the punches do start flying, boy do they fly HARD. Kath going after the face again with jab jab jab, whereas Scarlett using an arm to block 2 out of 3, with the third catching her on the mouth and painfully opening a cut. However, that doesn’t stop the Black Widow starlet from swinging a hook or two painfully into Kath’s body PUH PUH in quick retaliation. The blows land hard, making the older woman’s body convulse and shiver. As if on cue, Scarlett stepping in after her, continuing with the body abuse: lefts and rights cradling into the tummy as WInnick gasps and gacks, body folded over from big hook after big hook. Overwhelmed blonde has no choice but to force a clinch with Jo, who still doesn’t realise her lip’s leaking red all this while. At the end of round there’s drips and drapes of blood all over both women’s clothing, but Winnick at least heard asking if Jo’s all right before they head back to corner, earning a rough grunt and a nod from Scarlett, who’s too embarrassed to suggest otherwise.

ROUND 5: Doctors patching that cut up best they can, and Scarlett looking like she’s just eager to get back into the fight. Katheryn showing more naive sportsmanship by being concerned for her opponent, but that compassion comes back to bite her later this round, when she starts off hesitant to throw punches at Scarlett’s face, worried that she might reopen that cut. But this is boxing, baby - that’s what punches do the human faces. Scarlett, a veteran of such things, no such qualms, however, comes back at Kath hard and fast. Kath learns that if she won’t do the punching, someone else certainly will. Jabs and hook combos stand landing on Kath’s high guard, buffeting her about violently. Kath still cautious, shoots some return fire into Scarlett’s body, but otherwise seems to have an aversion to her chin and face. Final minute and Scarlett perhaps sensing something’s off, actually shouts at her, “COME AT ME, KATH!” to finally wake Winnick up, but it’s too late. Scarlett defending well against some last minute flurries at her head, before the time runs away, giving Johansson another victory this round.

ROUND 6: At the same time, Scarlett should be mindful about what she wishes for. She gets her request in Round 6 when Katheryn charges at her in the opening seconds, with a long cross slammed straight down the center of her guard, then a double-hook that batters her about as they land on either side of her head. Scarlett getting overwhelmed quickly, but keen observers will see that the veteran fighter still in control of the situation, and is sending punches back into Kath’s tummy and chest whenever possible, slowly but surely wearing her down at the same time. Both women reach an impasse in the last minute, punches from both sides of the aisle finally taking their toll on both their bodies. They exchange jabs from afar but nothing else significant happens. Winnick’s round here, if we’re scoring this diligently - she took some damage but otherwise outworked Scarlett with her aggression.

ROUND 7: Scarlett looking worried as we head into the seventh round. No one honestly expected Kath to last this long against this former champion, and far fewer expected Scarlett to not be able to put away this older rookie much earlier. Scarlett choosing to hang back - defensive stance - thinking she needs the energy to really go the distance in this fight. Kath, however, has other ideas, KNOWS she may not even last to Round 10, and looks to FINISH this and finish this tonight. She feints with a couple of jabs at Scarlett’s head from afar, giving her the idea that she’s also conserving her energy. When Scarlett looks to counter with some light punches of her own, Winnick dodges, parries, then WADES in and SNAPS that uppercut straight up into the jawline!! OUCH!! Scarlett goes reeling back into the ropes, her head sent into orbit! Kath with the charge, body hooks galore as she pounds and presses Johansson into the ropes! A SECOND and THIRD uppercut to the chin seal the deal here, knocking the poor girl groggy on her feet - Johansson swaying and swaying until her legs finally give way and she CRUMPLES TO CANVAS! A defiant yet anxious look on Winnick’s face as she walks back to her corner…who knows how this is going to end for her if Johansson can make it back to her feet? But Winnick slowly realizes she may have this in the bag as she watches a bewildered Scarlett finding it impossible to make it back up, dizzily struggling on all fours as the count passes her by, before finally crushing back down to the canvas in defeat! IT’S OVER FOLKS!!

Official Decision: Kathryn Winnick defeats Scarlett Johansson via KO7!

AFTER: Katheryn takes this fight in an impressive showing most might deem an upset! Let it sink in for a moment folks - this 40-year old rookie just DOWNED a three-time former champion, who’s seven years younger! Kath herself breaking down in exhaustion and relief, kneeling down to celebrate her victory whilst the rest of the Dollhouse team start swarming in to congratulate her.

Scarlett Johansson in bad shape, still lying on her stomach, holding her injured jaw whilst the paramedics are the first ones by her side to check on her. She’s ignored by Katheryn for a good few minutes as the Dollhouse member just soaks in the cheers and adulation of the crowd.

“I’m very happy,” she later says to reporters, a big smile on her face as evidence. “But I’m also mightily relieved to have finally bounced back with two straight wins after my previous setbacks. And doing it against some very good opposition - Scarlett gave me one hell of a fight and I can see why she won the title three times in the past.”

Hopefully of course this won’t the end of Scarlett’s illustrious career. Later, in the locker room, she’s pressed for comments by reporters as well.

“What can I say? Katheryn’s the real deal, and don’t let anyone tell you differently,” she begins, rubbing her jaw with each pained word from her lips. “She has surprisingly good fundamentals, she hits pretty hard, she’s smart, she respects her opponents…and what’s more important is that she has a never-give-up attitude. I think that’s what you need in order to survive in this sport. So that’s what I’m gonna be doing as well... Winnick, if you’re watching this, I want my rematch in the future!” she concludes with a smile and finger pointed straight at the camera.
