BEFORE:

"Actually, I'm surprised to be back," says Jessica with a smile. "As I said last fall, people have been ducking me, because they know how good I am. I give Front Street credit for not doing that. So, I'm grateful. But, that's not going to stop me from beating Gemma."

"Well," says Gemma with a smile of her own. "I'm glad to hear that her gratitude isn't going to stop her from beating me. But, you know what IS going to stop her? This right hand."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Zou Bisou Bisou', and, I swear, if I hear anything about Zouzou or 'Sky Riders', I'm going to start drinking the hard stuff right now..."

Cassie: "That was all OVER YouTube..."

Tess: "I remember, BFF. I remember..."

O'Dell: "That song, of course, is from 'Mad Men', and the lovely lady who sings it, Jessica Pare of CBS' 'Seal Team', is on her way to the ring right now."

McCarthy: "And, I'm just as surprised as she is that Pare's back here, considering that she actually has multiple FCBA wins."

O'Dell: "Jessica into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing that blue flowered number we saw last September and looking, if it's possible, even BETTER doing it."

Cassie: "No doubt she's in great shape for this bout."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'London Calling' you hear behind us, and that means that 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton, is on her way to the ring."

Tess: "Gems, of course, had a run with the lightweight belts last year, and she's right in the title mix again. And, obviously, she needs a win tonight to stay there."

O'Dell: "Arterton into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that violet bikini we've become familiar with. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Gemma. Mac?"

McCarthy: "As I said, this girl has actually WON fights at this level. Pare!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Split panel. Let's see who's right. Ladies setting up at gunnery range early and a GOOD straight left from Jessica and ANOTHER and ANOTHER! Pare's got the range right off the bell here and she's BANGING that jab in Arterton's face, snapping the head back..."

McCarthy: "Let's not forget, this girl gave Torv a good fight the last time she was here, and Anna's WAAAAYYY better than Arterton!"

O'Dell: "Pare's got Gems on the defensive early. Got the jab working now dropping in the right hand. Arterton countering in spots, but that's all she's able to do at the moment, as the Canadian's grabbed control early. And, I've got to say this is surprising, ladies, because Gemma's an excellent boxer..."

Tess: "But, as Mac points out, Pare's shown in the past that she boxes very, very well."

O'Dell: "And, she's showing it again right now. Putting punches together, landing a nice, consistent suppressive fire that's keeping the former champion at bay. Just ten seconds left in the first, which has been almost all Jessica. And, there's the bell. Pare puts together one heck of a first round and takes it wide."

Cassie: "Only up 10-9, but that kind of round has to give you confidence. Not that Jessica seems to be lacking it."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with more of Jessica and that left hand. She's getting it off, getting it on, and preempting Gemma with it. Jessica dropping in a right and GETTING ROCKED WITH A RIGHT HAND COUNTER! Arterton timed that counter and Pare is hurt! Canadian covering up as the Brit gets off lusty!"

Tess: "That was a pretty punch from Gemma!"

O'Dell: "And more of the same following. Arterton battering the Canadian back into the ropes and letting her have it with both barrels. Jessica in a high guard, rolling with, trying to slip and block as best she can, but she's taking some heavy fire right now. Arterton looking for the big shot that will end it..."

Cassie: "And Pare's looking ready to go!"

O'Dell: "But, Jessica's hanging on, jabbing back here and there, surviving. That's all she can do, but, for now, that's enough. We're down to twenty seconds to go in the round. Arterton letting the hands go, looking for that elusive 'off' switch, but she's not going to find it. There's the bell. End of the second. Gemma. Wide."

McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Arterton looking to press the advantage early. But Pare answers with a double-tap of that sharp left jab that stops Gemma and sets her up for a nice right hand. Arterton forward again behind the left but stopped again by Pare, who doesn't appear to have all her legs back, but is still able to move enough to stay off square."

McCarthy: "She's giving a little ground and keeping on with that left hand, slowing down the pursuit and scoring while she does it."

O'Dell: "SOLID flurry by Pare, and Arterton now setting up at range, no longer trying to press the issue. Nice adjustment by the Canadian with that double-tap on the jab and there's ANOTHER. Arterton thrown right back to the defensive where she spent the majority of the first."

Cassie: "Jessica all about disrupting Gemma's rhythm, and that's a very, very good plan, because once Arterton gets rolling..."

O'Dell: "ANOTHER solid flurry from Pare! Brit covers up again in the face of the heavy leather. We're coming down the stretch and Jessica lands another combination, actually backed Gemma up with that. Ten seconds to go, and quite the turnaround we've seen in the third. There's the bell. Pare. Wide."

Tess: "And, Jessica's back on top, 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins at range. Two brunettes have set up and are getting their box on. Pare again with that long, accurate left. Arterton angling more now, looking to foul the sights, get her own left hand on target. Best sustained two-way stuff of the fight right now, as both ladies are scoring."

McCarthy: "I'm beginning to LIKE this Pare kid. If we didn't have Palicki, I'd consider signing her at Sceej..."

O'Dell: "Good right hand from Jessica and Gemma responds with a solid flurry of her own. Pare backed up a step by that one, but she's right back over to the offense, moving the head and feet, snapping out that jab, landing another solid right and GETTING DROPPED! DOWN GOES JESSICA!"

Tess: "Now might be a good time to sing, BFF..."

O'Dell: "A BOOMING right hand from Arterton caught Pare flush and sent her crashing to the canvas. Jessica down on her right side. Arterton to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Pare trying to push up to hands and knees. Seven. Eight. Canadian on all fours. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Pare can't get off her hands and knees and it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 in one-punch fashion is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

Cassie: "That was an absolutely BRUTAL punch."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gems, she gave you some trouble in there."

Gemma (nodding): "Knew she would. She boxed with Anna, and Anna's as good a boxer as there is at lightweight. She's really skilled, but she doesn't have my power. I knew that would be the difference, and it was."

Tess: "That last shot...that was pretty close to perfect."

Gemma (nodding): "Didn't quite land it flush, but it was close enough to flush, and, when I land something like that, nobody in this division is getting up."
