BEFORE:

"Oh, I hear what everyone is saying," says Krysten with a shake of the head. "I'm cannon fodder, just an opponent, might make it three rounds. I hear it. But, I know I'm good enough to fight at this level. And, I'm going to prove it."

"Look," says Gemma, "She went nine with Sobieski and she took Michalka to the cards. She's not a push over. There are plenty of girls in the FCBA she can beat. I'm just not one of them."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Darklands' by Jesus and Mary Chain, and that can only mean that the star of Netflix's 'Jessica Jones', Krysten Ritter, is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "And, this girl might be the ULTIMATE tomato can. 0-5 and she's never even SNIFFED a win!"

O'Dell: "Ritter into the ring and helped off with the robe, and she's looking plenty good in that red bikini."

Tess: "The crowd certainly likes it."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'London Calling' by The Clash, and here comes the former Unified Lightweight Champion, 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

Cassie: "And, Gems is right in the lightweight title mix at the moment. She's going to need a win tonight to stay there."

O'Dell: "Arterton into the ring. Jewel and Neve help her off with the robe. She's wearing that violet two-piece we've seen before. And, thje ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Gemma. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Tomato. Can. Arterton."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Three consecutive unanimous panels. Ladies seem to be on the same page tonight. Ritter on the move as we start things, not a surprise, as she's definitely at a power disadvantage against the former lightweight champion. Krysten using the long jab and the quick feet to solid effect, ladies..."

McCarthy: "She's a tomato can who can move."

O'Dell: "Well, she can definitely move. And, she has an advantage in reach. And, she's combining those things pretty nicely right now, no question about it. Gemma showing patience. Working her feet, looking to bring Krysten to battle, but Ritter having none of it early, wants to skirmish but not settle down to battle."

Cassie: "Definitely a good plan, because if she sets up at range and boxes with, she's going to have a long night. Or, a short one."

O'Dell: "Not exactly a lot of percentage in doing that against Gemma. Arterton cuts the ring, lands a nice combination, but Ritter slips back to open ocean, works the jab as we head into the final seconds of the round. Krysten moving laterally, giving a little ground, circling. And there's the bell. All Ritter in the first."

Tess: "Good start, but a long way to go>"

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second starts with more movement from Ritter. Older brunette's showing some great leg right now, making Arterton work hard to square her. Gemma, of course, very athletic and moves very well, but, right now, Krysten able to dictate terms with the feet and the long left jab."

Tess: "And, if she can continue doing it, she's going to surprise a lot of people, including the ones at this table."

O'Dell: "No doubt about that. Ritter circling right away from Arterton's power, giving ground here and there, then stepping forward at times. She's staying outside Gemma at all times, making the British beauty work hard to get to spots. NICE combination from Ritter there! She landed a solid right."

Cassie: "Krysten getting into a nice rhythm now. She's getting exactly what she wants at the moment."

O'Dell: "Certainly is, and she's taking full advantage of that. Arterton now squares up and lands a solid flurry of her own, but Ritter quickly slips away, circles right, again gets off square and keeps Gemma at range behind that jab. Five seconds left and there's the bell. Another excellent round for Ritter."

McCarthy: "Tomato can up 20-18."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third begins on the same terms. Ritter moving, Gemma trying to get the footwork matched. Arterton having a little success doing that now. She's able to square some and get the left hand on when she does so. That's setting up some nice combinations from the former champion."

McCarthy: "Left hand is the key in this situation. That jab, if you can land it, will HOLD your opponent, give you time to follow."

O'Dell: "Absolutely correct, Mac, and that's making a difference for Gems in this round. Krysten still working the legs, still getting to open canvas and playing hard to find, but Arterton doing a much better job of finding in this stanza. Result is our first two-way round of this bout."

Tess: "GOOD right hand by Gems!"

O'Dell: "Best punch of the fight for the Front Streeter. Didn't hurt Ritter, but it got her attention. Krysten gives some ground, circles away. Gems stepping to, lands a jab, scores with a follow on right hand. Ten seconds left in the round. Krysten circles away. Arterton again stepping to, lands a final flurry and there's the bell. Close. Gemma."

Cassie: "And, Ritter's lead is now 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth round begins with Gemma coming forward. She's closing distance, crowding Ritter, working some body, landing some hard shot. Gems getting physical with her rival in a big way in this stanza, banging away with both hands, backing Krysten up, forcing her onto the defensive."

Cassie: "This is closer to what everyone expected to see in this one."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Arterton's made a nice adjustment here, and Ritter's going to need to make one of her own, because Gemma's getting her squared up right now and getting some heavy shot on target. Krysten being backed up. Takes a solid right hand from Arterton..."

McCarthy: "Not going to last long taking leather like that."

O'Dell: "Ritter backed to the ropes now. Heavy flurry from Gemma! Krysten covering up, keeping the guard high, punching back in counter here and there, but mostly taking and she's taking some hard shot. Final seconds of the fourth. Another good flurry from Gems and there's the bell. Second straight round for Arterton, this one wide."

Tess: "And, we're even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with more aggression from Arterton. Gemma getting physical with Ritter, crowding her, banging her. Krysten thumping back as best she can, trying to work for space, but, at the moment, she's stuck fighting on the Brit's terms, and that is not a recipe for success."

Tess: "Absolutely is not. She can't stand and slug with Gemma."

O'Dell: "But, that's what she's being forced to do at the moment. To her credit, Ritter giving it her best here and landing some hard shot, but she's getting backed up and touched up by the former champion. Krysten clinching, Gemma levers her, works some body, then goes back to the head."

Cassie: "One thing about Front Street fighters. They don't all LIKE to work inside, but they all know HOW to work inside."

O'Dell: "That's what happens when you're in a gym with Neve Campbell every day. We're coming down the stretch in the fifth. GOOD combination from Gems backs Ritter up again. Taller brunette ties up, but Gemma shoves her off, works some body to the bell. Another excellent round for Arterton, who takes it wide."

McCarthy: "48-47, Arterton at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Arterton back to work in the sixth. Backing up Ritter with heavy shot. Krysten trying to punch for respect while working hard to stay off square and create distance, but nothing's working. Gemma rolling now, getting the heavy leather on target, forcing Krysten onto the defensive."

McCarthy: "Ritter's got to DO something here, because she's about to get run out of her. Or, knocked out of here."

O'Dell: "Gemma in firm control now as she lines up Krysten for heavy leather. Flurry after flurry landing and sooner or later...THERE'S A RIGHT HAND FROM RITTER AND ARTERTON'S HURT! Krysten timed a perfect counter, caught Gemma coming forward and wobbled the former champion..."

Cassie: "Now's the time to go all in. Thirty seconds to go!"

O'Dell: "And, that's what Krysten's doing. Ritter throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Gemma and DOWN GOES ARTERTON! Gemma dropped to her knees by an absolute BLIZZARD of leather. Ritter to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Gemma to her feet. Referee gives her the mandatory and there's the bell. No chance for a cleanup by Ritter."

Tess: "But, she gets the round 10-8 and goes back into the lead 57-56."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Ritter right at Gemma, trying to press this advantage. Arterton giving ground, going to the ropes, going to play some defense now. She's keeping the guard high, rolling with, trying to ride out the storm. Ritter going to go body here, because it's on sale. She's trying to drop the guard..."

Tess: "Not going to work. Gemma's in clock-running mode."

O'Dell: "Definitely is, and the clock's running on Krysten. She's determined to finish this thing while the finishing is good. Older brunette letting the hands go in a big way, committing on everything, landing a solid right hand there. Arterton firing back in spots, working to keep the ref at bay."

Cassie: "Smart, veteran stuff from Gemma."

O'Dell: "Into the final thirty seconds and a BIG FLURRY FROM RITTER! Right hand in there snapped back Arterton's head and IT'S OVER! Referee jumping in and he's stopping it! Crowd going absolutely nuts! Ritter jumping up and down in the middle of the ring because she's broken her maiden with a HUGE upset!"

McCarthy: "NOW, maybe Weirdo will get RID of this Dancing Hooker and push TORV like I've been telling him!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Krysten Ritter, and, Krysten...wow. Just, wow."

Krysten (grinning): "I'm glad you didn't ask me if I thought I could do this, because I KNEW I could do this. Yeah. She's a top-level lightweight, but I can FIGHT. I just need opportunities, that's all."

Tess: "And, I suspect this might GET you some..."

Krysten: "I certainly hope so, because if THIS didn't get somebody's attention, I'm not sure what will."
