Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & Dollhouse

BEFORE:
Katheryn Winnick glamorous as ever and looking stunning as usual for her age as she gives a flourish at the entrance to the arena. She’s wearing her usual ring gear, a black and white sports bra and short tights, showcasing her sturdy fit body, blonde hair up in a high ponytail, wearing black and white boxing gloves. Winnick has had her hits and misses, but to have accomplished what she has so far is an accomplishment of its own. Tonight, she will be facing an opponent 19 years her junior, yet the blonde is as confident as ever in her pre-fight statement.

“This is going to be a fun but a tough one, I’m sure” she begins. “When they offered me a spot on this PPV, I pretty much accepted immediately. I think it’s a great opportunity for me - testing myself against someone as young as Hailee. She's going to be the youngest opponent I’ve faced so far, by a…..huge margin.” She chuckles. “And she seems to have all the goods: she’s in great shape and seems like a smart, tough kid. I know she hasn’t had much success in the ring yet, but I’m sure that will come for her. She also happens to have three inches on me… so this is definitely going to be a challenge. But…you guys know me, I’m still very confident I can keep up with her, and I’m looking forward to overcoming the age difference tonight. Getting this win will be a huge statement for me. I’m excited!” Katheryn finishes, rubbing her hands together with a smile.

Steinfeld not to be outdone, coming out from behind the curtains with an equally confident pose for the cameras. She’s clad in a “MISSION” brand black sports bra and ankle long black tights with grey trims. Her young, slim athletic figure looking extremely sexy as she struts down the aisle, dark hair in a neat tight ponytail, grinning and waving her grey boxing gloves to wild cheers. As Kath said, Hailee’s the young kid around the block, with plenty of potential still to turn some heads. Tonight, she’s looking to do just that as she tells reporters:

"Look, it's not every day that I get to fight someone who’s 40 years old. I guess I respect the fact that she had the balls to be here, but damn - what a stupid decision for her. I’m taller, faster, younger…. I can literally run circles around her and it’s exactly what I’m going to do. This is pretty much a *must* win for me, and I have no intentions of going easy on her just because she can pose as well as my mother! She’s getting f*cked tonight!" Hailee finishe with a smile, punching her own palm.

Final prep in the ring, and as incendiary as Hailee can get, she agrees to touch gloves with Winnick when the referee orders them to do so. Still, there’s a scowl on her face like a little kid eyeing candy but not being able to get it yet. Katheryn like the confident mom looking to stop her at all cost. Unusual metaphor aside, referee rings the bell so here we go!

ROUND 1:
Gotta give it to Hailee - she knows how to make good on her threats. She’s right about all her advantages as well, spending the first round playing with her food by jabbing at Winnick from afar and not giving her any opportunity to retaliate. Clearly, Winnick’s got something to prove by giving chase, trying to justify to everyone (including herself) that she can stand and trade with a younger fighter. Obviously this doesn't end well for her - Hailee landing jab after jab into her face and she’s just swinging hooks at the air in reply, unable to catch the taller and faster girl. Hailee’s scowl replaced by a mischievous grin now as she knows she’s in control and wants the rest of the world to know it as well. Round ends and Hailee takes it wide, leaving Katheryn flabbergasted and winded back in her corner.

ROUND 2:
Katheryn’s usual, defensive style missing from this fight thus far as she tries out new tactics, but they’re are not working particularly too well for her. She’s trying to overpower the younger girl, and that’s just not happening, with Hailee continuing her strategy of shock and awe from afar. The leaner girl may be like a straw in the wind, but heck she’s a smart straw that’s using the wind to get away. Winnick losing steam by the middle of the round, panting and breathing hard both from the constant and steady jabs to her face and body, but also her own foolish thinking in trying to catch Steinfeld so early in this fight. Surprisingly, Hailee still biding her time - uncharacteristic of her as well and for someone known to charge in with aggression. She keeps the same strategy for now, content with scoring from afar.

ROUND 3:
Katheryn staying back at the sound of the bell - either she’s learnt her lesson or she’s simply too tired to move herself. Hailee like a circling shark, ready to come in for the kill. Tentative jab jab jab at Kath’s guard grazes her cheek at the last one, and Hailee wading in with more shots aimed at the tummy. WHOOSH - she narrowly avoids a counter-hook from Kath in the pocket. But things aren’t looking as secure for the younger girl all of a sudden - she definitely didn’t expect that powerful shot to come this close to her face. Now, she’s trying to get OUT of range again, but it’s TOO late. Kath swinging for the fences, has Hailee right where she wants her to be! A nasty double-hook CRASH into Steinfeld’s guard, sending her spiraling to the sides and into the ropes! Kath coming in for the kill, turning the tables in a fell swoop, but her stamina not letting her get very far… she manages another one-two hook-hook to Hailee’s sides before the singer manages to escape again and regroup. Hailee looking shell-shocked even as the crowd is on its feet, both cheering and jeering. Steinfeld too ambitious for her own good, but makes it up in the rest of the round by resuming her punch-from-a-distance strategy, intending to cement her lead on Kath. It’s a draw this round, ladies and gents, and deservedly so, both girls showing plenty of willingness to punch.

ROUND 4:
Katheryn rooting herself in one spot, trying to bait Hailee to come at her again. This round becoming sort of a dance-off, with Hailee not falling for the same trick twice but still eager to win this. Kath rotating her feet on the spot, facing Steinfeld each time she tries dodging left or right, hoping to exploit a weak spot, but to no avail. Kath doing a much better job of conserving her own energy, keeping that guard intact and blocking most of Hailee’s incoming strikes. Steinfeld getting frustrated as a result, starts aiming low at the body. First few direct jabs go unanswered, making the blonde grunt in discomfort, but it’s nothing Kath can’t handle. Winnick detecting rhythm in her opponent’s movements, starts throwing long jabs of her own, making Hailee squeal when those powerful straight hands catch her unexpected on the cheek and chest. Last minute and Steinfeld is the one in full retreat, no answer to those bombs thrown by Kath. Kath on the slow advance, driving her back into a corner, but before she can capitalise, there goes the bell... This fight is slowly turning in her favour, from the looks of it!

ROUND 5:
Slow dance is the best sort of dance - Kath an expert of it now, slowly but surely crowding out Hailee’s dance floor, denying her any room to manoeuvre, instead pushing her backwards into a corner. Hailee not left with much energy herself, especially in her growing desperation of throwing everything she’s got at the blonde in the hopes that something will stick. But Kath cool, absorbing on her firm guard, in between just knocking the brunette’s head backwards and relishing the look of shocked on Hailee’s face as she smashes another one punch after another into her nostrils. Suddenly, Hailee not looking quite so hot, stumbling backwards, in a daze! Kath wading in fast… another one-two quick jabs to the lips land clean, further disorienting Hailee, then a double-punch to the gut folds her over with a nasty grunt. Kath SWINGS a final hook into the side of her face, sending Hailee Steinfeld SPRAWLING down onto the canvas! KNOCKDOWN for Katheryn Winnick in expert fashion!!

Katheryn looking mightily pleased with herself, all smiles and raised arm to acknowledge her fans, as she makes her way back to corner. Hailee sputtering on all fours by the ropes, tears in her eyes as she forces her body to try and recover from this setback. Some of her fans helping by chanting her name along. Say what you will about her attitude, but Steinfeld has been definitely on a roll recently, having gained a popular following for herself. She manages back to her feet by the count of 8, though she had much help from the top rope.

Kath already rearing to continue, bouncing on her feet as she prepares to charge. Referee waves his hand and there’s still a minute left on the clock! Can Hailee survive?? Winnick not waiting around to find out cos here she comes! Hailee going nowhere and nowhere to go, mewing as she’s hounded at close quarters on the ropes. This 40 year old is swinging and SWINGING folks, battering and beating the young girl senseless! Referee has soon seen enough! He waves it off!!

Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Hailee Steinfeld via KO5!

AFTER:
Katheryn Winnick elated, smiling widely and raising her hands up high as the entire arena cheers the triumphant blonde! A great showing from her tonight, and we’d bet she’s both happy and relieved at putting away someone bigger and younger. Still, there’s no hard feelings once the fight is over, with Kath making her way over to Hailee’s side and helping her back up to her feet. Hailee still looking groggy, glassy eyed, but accepts the embrace of the older, wiser woman, despite her own catty comments at the start.

Later, Kath comments to reporters on standby: “Look, she’s still a kid. I get it… she doesn’t want to show any weakness. I just try not to take things personally. She’ll learn, and I’m just glad I was able to keep up with her tonight and prove, especially to myself, that I can still compete against ANYONE. I have all the tools, and age really IS just a number.”

Kath just a fine old port of wine that keeps getting better, it seems. She takes home another win for the team on this card, and hopefully she’ll get to extend her streak at the next Doll Ball against Summer Glau. We’ll see!
