Jade Thirlwall vs Victoria Justice

BEFORE: Jade Thirlwall made no secret that she challenged Victoria 'Don't call me Vicky' Justice after the pounding the Florida native took from Jade's fellow Geordie Cheryl Cole back in April. When you consider that Avril Lavigne destroyed Justice in equally emphatic fashion on last month's PPV then the Frankie's Foxes match-making skills must be praised as perfect indeed. Jade hasn't fought so far in 2018 but she won't get many better opportunities to pour dirt on a down-on-her-luck foe like Victoria.
However Justice vows to upset the Tyneside party even though a couple of wins over Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga didn't create enough media buzz earlier this year. She remains guilty of losing too many winnable fights and lacks a signature scalp on her resume over the past couple of seasons now. Thirlwall has lost to Camila Cabello before - whom Justice knocked out back in 2016 - but is that enough to put your money on the Hispanic singer-turned-actress tonight?
Jade Thirlwall wears an orange bikini top, black hotpants and silver gloves. Long dyed ash blonde hair tied in a curled ponytail. Victoria Justice wears a violet sports bra with black trim, matching hotpants and black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Justice is over two inches taller than her opponent and she takes full advantage of these numbers during the initial tangle as she rips straight through the Geordie high guard and stuffs Thirlwall on her heels in the center of the ring. It's redemption time for the Puerto Rican babe who even barks in her efforts as she lands them in bullseye fashion to drop the older girl back to the ropes down the stretch. Jade simply can't live with this early pace and fails to stay clear of danger even when looking very agile on her feet. Tori's superior reach makes all the difference here and she inflicts a couple of early bruises when she nails Thirlwall around the brow ridge before clocking her with a vicious uppercut that sends the Geordie tourist aching behind a desperate earmuff. It's a proper Hispanic rout here in the opener and Justice has to be pulled back by the ref at the bell since she has no intentions of halting her run whatsoever.
Round 2:
Jade tries to respond and closes right up to the taller brunette but eats more facial juice before a somewhat lucky punch drills Victoria's liver area and wobbles her back. The Geordie stunner jumps into immediate follow up and almost head-butts the American but still delivers a promising drive downstairs from both flanks and Justice needs some time to adjust to the new circumstances. She actually trips over her own feet while making adjustements and this allows Thirlwall to really cash in with several good punches alas the younger brunette recovers into mid-distance safety and keeps the fellow singer at bay for remainder of the round. She loses her momentum alright however Jade is unable to add further heat and looks downright upset about it come the bell. Tori gives her a lenghty stare before turning back to her corner and Erin Andrews in the booth thinks we'll witness a proper slugfest here going forward!
Round 3:
Thirlwall settles down around Justice's ribcage and drills the area in such a high-tempo fashion she actually makes the Hispanic stunner squeal in pain! Ugh! Jade must have seen the Cole & Lavigne tapes so she steamrolls through Tori's defense and is well on course to break her resilience here early in the third! Victoria swings back over the top but bounces off the top of Jade's forehead too often and gets pummelled back to the ropes with the Geordie lass ripping through her guts like there's no tomorrow! Justice's moans are getting louder and she folds into a clinching struggle during the second minute; she's unable to tame the Brit's wild attacks but Jade can't quite chop her down yet and runs out of steam when Tori's stalemate tactics take over. The ref turns a blind eye on this questionable approach and some whistles in the crowd indicate the fans don't like it either. There's more eye-balling between the two hellcats at the bell but Jade has scored the second round on the bounce and looks pumped for more action now!
Round 4:
Jade believes she will knock Tori down any second now and jumps into a trigger-happy assault again however she misjudges her approach and WALKS into a BRUTAL right hook that slams her on the nose and sends some drips of blood onto the canvas! Uh-oh! Tori turns it from the hip and delivers a left hook on the boobs as Jade was still soaking up the maginitude of that previous punch and it's a DISASTER for the Geordie hopes as she fish-tails on jelly knees and drops her gloves so low that Justice has a free shot from the left again... SHE LIFTS JADE OFF HER FEET with another brutal whack on the nose and there's more blood marking the canvas next... however that's not the real highlight here as Jade crumbles flat down on her back with eyes closed and drifts away into spasms of demise!!! Ref calls it off on the spot and it's a wicked KO4 Victoria Justice!!!
AFTER: Tori bunny hops around the ring and yells back at the audience demanding more applause and she truly smoked Jade into a complete mess but the fallen singer is guilty of mismanaging her approach badly. The Puerto Rican camp won't be bothered with that however it's a fortunate victory for Tori which helps to fend off the otherwise justified criticism following the Avril Lavigne disaster. Jade isn't quite Cheryl Cole after all - hardly a surprise - however she let Justice off the hook and fumbled a golden opportunity to put the Hispanic babe away tonight. She recovered really well from a difficult opening round and neutralized the taller brunette but then succumbed to the classic rush of blood to the head instead of using her experience and just allowing Justice to come after her instead. Victoria's punching resistance remains an issue but she took advantage of a careless opponent tonight and will collect the winner's paycheck. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!
Final result: Victoria Justice def. Jade Thirlwall KO4. |
