Torrie Wilson vs Paula Patton

BEFORE: It's perhaps puzzling why such an athletic woman like Torrie Wilson has a negative boxing record but Paula Patton is quick to provide the answer: "These wrestling divas have no IDEA how a real competition looks like! This isn't foxy boxing stuff! It's the REAL thing and she cannot take it like a proper warrior! Punch her twice in that goofy blonde face and she quits!"

It's not exactly a fair explanation according to Erin Andrews - who's blonde herself - in the booth but Torrie has extended her post-WWE top shape career by venturing into fitness business and despite celebrating her 43rd birthday next month, she's apparently got the body of a 25 year old. Now, that's a stretch in it's own right but you got this feeling the Andrews commentary will be a little biased tonight and it remains to be seen if Wilson manages to confirm her status as the otherwise underrated Blonde Alpha in the ring.

Torrie Wilson wears a stars & stripes-themed bikini top, red panties and blue gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Paula Patton wears an orange crop top, matching hotpants and black gloves. Long black hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Paula doesn't have the size of her opponent but uses some nifty footwork to put some early heat on Torrie who soaks up a steady hooking assault to the body which seems to catch her off guard during a frantic push from the actress. Paula keeps sticking her mitts below the blonde's elbows and that forces the former WWE-diva to drop back repeatedly while struggling to connect over the top. Patton's intensity proves to be the driving force behind all the action in the opening round and it's perhaps shocking to see Wilson is such dire straits as she ends up trapped on the ropes with the slightly younger woman pounding away in furious fashion that leaves Erin Andrews very impressed in the booth indeed.

Round 2:
Torrie might have kept her body in top shape but she just can't live with Paula's up-tempo approach until she lands a proper left/right combo upstairs that finally rattles the actress off her commanding position. The blonde quickly doubles up with a cracking left hook on the eye and rocks Paula's head back with a relentless head-hunting drill that enables her to dominate the mid-distance exchange. Patton struggles to outwork her rival in a classic slugfest ordeal and yields real estate in a hurry; she survives more dangerous swings from the blonde thanks to her superior agility but Torrie's found her groove alright and channels the intimidating prowl for remainder of the round to keep Patton on her toes.

Round 3:
Wilson finally uses her superior reach to a punishing degree as she WHACKS the younger opponent across the lips and traps her in a mid-distance frenzy. She sets up numerous left/right combinations that seem a little too basic to make a proper impression but you can't rule out anything in this division, even a single punch can always derail the best of fighters and Patton's a solid gatekeeping operator at best according to Erin in the booth. The blonde pounce continues with Paula happy just to send in a single attempt or two but nowhere near good enough to tame the ex-diva's onslaught. Torrie's fitness background suggests she might be a little more durable than you ordinary 42 year old but the overall number of punches drops significantly with Patton refusing to engage in another slugfest which she couldn't really cope with in the previous round. Wilson loses her temper in the closing seconds and yells out at the actress to show some here but Patton's got enough experience under her belt to avoid such a blatant tease.

Round 4:
Torrie tries to hassle the actress around the boards during the opening minute but Paula remains commited to the counter-punching tactics and takes advantage of a careless stretch from the blonde who shifts her weight too far forward and becomes easy target for quick strikes in close range. Patton hasn't really chased the head-hunting plan so far tonight but she does a great job once she can finally split the ex-diva's mitts and rattle her from both flanks. Wilson struggles to follow through when Patton's right in her face and tails off alltogether when the younger woman blasts her across the jugs to set up a nasty uppercut combo that drops her onto the ropes. Paula flies in with additional hooks upstairs to keep her opponent trapped and signs off a very productive round with another belter against the blonde's breadbasket.

Round 5:
More early aggression from the blonde gets quickly neutralized as Patton jumps into close range and glues Wilson to the spot with another jug-busting drive. Ugh! Paula must have watched some JMDD tapes as she bulldozes her way through the blonde's guard and clips her chin repeatedly which only makes Wilson moan as she's unable to tame the onslaught with a proper launch. She bounces off the guard and even the top of Paula's forehead before getting swamped along the ropes with more ultra-accurate harpoons around the elbows. Paula settles in a familiar midsection groove and bends an aching Torrie forward but the clinching attempt fails and allows Patton to punish the ex-diva's rack repeatedly come the final minute. Another scything cross over the top dismantles the guard and a nasty hook on the nose leaves Wilson sagging on jelly knees at the bell.

Round 6:
Wilson finds it tough to avoid Patton's mobile hassle and allthough she fends off the initial aerial strike, she fails to properly connect with her efforts while struggling to escape the close range heat again. So much for that alleged fitness value as Patton charges ahead and smacks the high guard around before blasting more juice against the blonde's nose. Uh-oh! Torrie begins to gurgle in discomfort but gets glued to the ropes when her hectic retreat runs into a Patton wall and suddenly the phone booth-like slugfest favors the actress who rains punches all over Wilson's exposed face!!! The guard folds like a cheap tent and Paula gets vocal as she hammers the fellow cougar into stupor! Torrie bends over the top but only yelps in additional volume as she just can't escape the leather wrath but it's another belter on the breasts that finally cripples her for good. Patton slams a left/right combo and then another one on the solar plexus that pulls Wilson't plug OUT!!! The ex-diva SLIDES ONTO HER BACKSIDE in the corner and just moans her demise as the merciless count passes her by!!! KO6 Paula Patton!!!

AFTER: That's a really promising performance from the Hollywood veteran who looked in all sorts of trouble early on but recovered well to knock the taller blonde out in the end. One could say it's a mild upset but not for the first time Torrie Wilson flatters to deceive and her negative record can indeed be justified given how she wasted a good opportunity to put a smaller and seemingly physically weaker opponent to bed. Stephanie McMahon voices her displeasure on twitter over this result but Erin Andrews is quick to point out the WWE executive has lost to Wilson twice before already so she's not exactly in position to rain on Patton's parade however reputation and a big ego counts for everything for these divas so one shouldn't rule out this particular match-up anytime soon.

Meanwhile Paula prefers to ignore the McMahon twitter rant and tells Erin Andrews she'd like to book a fight with ex-Girls Friday member Michelle Ryan on the upcoming July Crossover PPV. And that sounds like a very reasonable choice indeed!
