Jennifer Lawrence vs Bo Krsmanovic (result:Lookout/writing:simgrrl) May 2018
(27yo, 5'8", 133#, 25-17-1, 22 KOs, Chimera) vs (26y/o, 5'11", 140#, 10-9-0, 10 KOs, PLP/VIXENS)

Before: Lawrence a big lightweight moved up to welter full time. She's looked comfortable against welters on several occasions, but in Krsmanovic she'll be facing a legitimate "big woman" who's more than just tall. In the past, J-Law struggled against big, strong, women who put their weight on her (see Righetti, Palicki, Zeta-Jones, Strahovski) but height hasn't the issue for Jen, opponent's power has.

In Krsmanovic, Lawrence is facing a legit big woman who has the ability to overpower opponents her own size (see Wozniacki, Sharapova, Ivanovic, Bock, Govich and Rhoda). Smaller, quicker, women, however, have sometimes given her problems. Lawrence isn't noted for nimble footwork, but she's shown dogged determination and her straight-ahead, attacking, body-bashing style could give Krsmanovic problems... or expose her to Bo's bendy, flexibility and whip-armed punching.

Neither has set the world on fire lately; Lawrence winless in her last four (one a JMDD); Krsmanovic ended her latest losing skid two months ago and hasn't fought since. Though neither has had much success in 2018, both boldly predict victory tonight! Absent a draw, one will be correct.

Both women choosing a flower print bikini;Drsmanovic'sed with a yellow floral design, red gloves and shoes. Lawrence's has a blue background with a white ivy design embroidered around her torso highlighting her full bosom and womanly hips. J-Law's gloves are blue, her feet are bare, and her long dark blond hair is done in a French twist.

Ronda Rousey and Jeri Ryan in J-Law's corner; Danielle Harris and Nia Peeples in Bo's. PLP and Chimera members who aren't otherwise engaged tonight fill the seats in their teams corners along with several celebrities who came to support Troian Bellisario in her match and are waving "Back Bo" signs supporting her training camp partner in this bout. Hannah Ferguson (VIXENS) joined them, checking out Lawrence - and Charlize Theron - also in action tonight for future reference.

During R1: Big Bo out patient, taking her time, slide-stepping left behind the jab, right at her jaw. J-Law circling to her left; steadily jabbing. It's a feeling out process early for both. Jen trying time and again to close the distance, wanting to be inside Krsmanovic's longer reach to hammer her body. Bo's stiff left giving Lawrence problems in the early going. Even when Jen does manage to close the distance and get inside, Krsmanovic puts her weight on J-Law; bogging her down; making her struggle as the taller brunette clinches and grapples her. It could be a WWE match for the first half of the round with Krsmanovic getting all the best of it. Bo holding and hitting, roughing Lawrence up in the clinches and popping her in the face using her longer reach when at distance.
J-Law obviously frustrated in the final seconds, struggling to free her arms from Bo's bearhug; her chest and cheeks being scuffed up by the taller brunette who's fighting in an upright stance while Lawrence is punching uphill from her low crouch. Big overhand right from J-Law her hardest connect of the round, but Krismanovic's been pummeling Jen's flanks with both fists and slamming down on her neck and shoulders as she puts her upper body on Lawrence's shoulders and head in clinches.
At the bell, the frustrated J-Law cuffs Bo across her JMDD's, getting a slap from the red-faced brunette in retaliation. Referee jumps in to push them apart, but both look like they'd be happy to finish this in the parking lot! Bo winning the round (wide) by walking J-Law into right hands and taking advantage of Jen's wild and unfocused attacking style.

R2: Between rounds Ryan and Rousey berate Jen in Chimera's corner, Ronda telling he, "You're not following the plan" then chastising her for "ignoring my instructions." Jeri not piling on, instead more interested in J-Law's top, readjusting it several times and rubbing away the red marks left by Bo's laces. PLP corner pleased by Bo's performance, Peeples telling her, "Keep putting your weight on her, she can't carry you for ten rounds."
Lawrence using a more upright stance this round; having some success fighting her way inside behind two and three punch combinations. Jen's hands look quicker and she's snapping her punches; feinting one way, reversing to land one or two as she bores into Bo whose being wrong footed in the early action, unable to time Jen as easily as she had in the first. Lawrence takes advantage of Bo's confusion, drilling her belly with straight rights or left hooks - depending on which way she's moving.
Krsmanovic stubbornly fighting back, relentlessly coming forward with her arms crossed in front of her. Bo jams both elbows in J-Law's chest; driving her back to PLP's corner as Nia Peeples claps excitedly and urges her on! Bo hammers Lawrence twice before the referee can get there to break it up; giving Bo a warning about her sharp elbows!
Lawrence shakes off the hurt, hunkers down and blisters Bo with several heavy right hands as she comes fighting off the ropes; Bo recoiling hurt, J-Law applying continual pressure late; going to that long torso with both fists, working Krsmanovic up one side and down the other; Bo driven sideways along the ropes behind a porous peek-a-boo defense with Lawrence reaching around to pound the flanks. There's nothing coming back from the sweet Serbian in the final seconds as she has to be satisfied with just surviving the round - a round Jen Lawrence wins on points (wide) after settling in and countering Bo's right with her own left hooks in under and behind her elbow.

R3: PLP-VIX corner bereft in the aftermath, Danielle and Nia offering advice contrary to that being screamed at Bi by Steve Boyd from his ringside seat. (Steve's gotta be rethinking that co-management agreement with PLP at this point, right?)
Lawrence eager as all get-out before the bell, on her feet slapping her gloves together; almost forgets her mouthguard - which Ryan has to reach over and put in just as the mallet strikes the gong!
Big Bo showing amazing recuperative power, upright and looking fit-to-fight as she steps out briskly to face J-Law center ring. Each has felt the fury of the other and they're showing more respect than before; putting up some defense rather than attacking without regard for protection. Early exchanges favor Krsmanovic who's taking advantage of longer reach and legs that enable her to close, punch, and step away more easily than Lawrence whose north-south style can expose her to Bo's counters.
But when Lawrence does manage to fight her way inside Krs's defenses, she does damage! In the last 2-3 years young J-Law has made significant improvement in her body punching and while Bo isn't the first to feel it, she is the latest recipient and the frown on her face and the grimace on her lips are visible proof of Jen's new-found effectiveness. J-Law wrapping up Bo in a belly-to-belly clinch, then pushing off to bludgeon her, but instead of retreating after throwing punches, she reels the bigger brunette back in like a sport fish to repeat the abuse. At the end of the round, Lawrence's face scuffed up from Bo's long range shots, but Krsmanovic's midsection and upper chest both showing a rosy red hue thanks to Jen's close-in hard body shots! J-Law winning her second round (close) as the exciting back-forth action goes her way.

R4: More angst in the PLP-VIXEN corner! At least, Nia seems to have successfully stopped Boyd's yapping, so she and Harris can have Bo's full attention. Ryan elbowed aside by Rousey after some jostling, but they seem to have managed a cohesive, if contentious, relationship - with Ryan once more paying more attention to Jen's top while leaving the technical advice to Rousey.
Action in the fourth mirrors that in the third, with Lawrence trying to force her way in close to batter Bo's beauteous body while Krs's straining to keep J-Law at arm's length where she can pop her in the nose, cuff her cheeks and - just because she can - slap her boobs every so often because she can see how it gets under J-Law's skin and makes her reckless trying to get "payback." It's a tactic that only worked occasionally before, but after three rounds seems to have finally made Lawrence mad enough to become reckless trying to get at her.
A couple of times, Lawrence rocked by right hands, finally backs off shaking her head; Bo stepping with her, pursuing behind her pawing left, her right cocked and locked, ready to open fire. Lawrence retreating in good order... it's a 'fighting withdrawal' and she's making Bo pay with her body for every foot of canvas she's taking. Late in the round, Jen draws Krsmanovic in and then counters Bo's right with a left hook that puts a wobble in the Serb's legs. Lawrence unable to take advantage, however, and at the bell Bo ekes out the points (close) as, this round, the back-and-forth action goes Bo's way to even the bout at two entertaining rounds of big girl action apiece after four.

R5: Danielle and Nia nodding and pointing at Boyd, telling him, "See, we got this" as they wash down Bo's flushed torso and apply Endswell to both eyebrows and cheeks. Across the ring, Ryan's in her element, her hands full icing down J-Law's throbbing rack while Rousey tends to the cut on her left eyebrow, and puts a ice pack on the back of her neck. Big Bo's proving to be a handful!
Jen responding to her corner's tender care by bouncing out lively at the bell to catch Krsmanovic at her side of center ring! Women trade right hands with no visible effect, then they trade lefts and SHE'S HURT!No, both women are staggered!! Lawrence's momentum carries her forward behind the hook and wins her the advantage as she bodies up to pound Bo's body, shoving her back onto the ropes where Jen sets up shop; forehead in Krs's cleavage; both fists pumping that Serbian paunch!
Krsmanovic's gloves earmuffing J-Law's head, twisting her around, pulling her head down, then shoving that soft blond butt back between the ropes and bringing a couple of hard uppercuts up from her knees into Jen's belly!! As Lawrence's knees buckle, Krsmanovic leaning on her, folding her forward, exposing her JMDD worthy rack for two more YUGEuppercuts that leave Lawrence reeling as the referee steps in to separate them!
Crowd on their feet! Bo bores in to finish...J-Law throws a sweeping hook that knocks Krsmanovic off balance just long enough for Jen to slide away left and scamper to safety; giving her a few seconds to adjust her maladjusted top with her right hand (tucking things back in) holding out her left arm. Bo bats J-Law's glove aside with her right, misses a wild left and eats Lawrence left hook in exchange! After an exchange of rights, Lawrence again on her heels, stumbling away. Bo misses a left of her own and almost goes to all fours before regaining her balance.
J-Law jumps in behind a straight right that sends Bo skittering away, again unbalanced; Jen chases; throwing big, hard, rights one after another. Most are glancing impacts, but the accumulation is enough to keep Krsmanovic stumbling and staggering along unable to right herself.
Lawrence bellies up to Bo; hands on brunette hips; chest-on-chest, backing Bo into the PLP corner. Once there, J-Law RIPS into the Serb's body doubling Bo over! Krsmanovic grabbing on up high, willing herself not to fall. She makes it to the bell, but J-Law wins round (a shutout!) with a dominant late surge that leaves Mz. Krs reeling and stumbling back to her corner at the bell.

R6: Lawrence feeling it, doesn't sit between rounds as she's getting more attention to her 'frontage' from Ryan (who seems particularly intrigued by J-Law's "whatevers" than is proper!) But Jen comes out and picks up where she left off at the bell, brushing aside Bo Krsmanovic's crumbling defenses to hammer the big brunette's body with little Serbian offensive output coming back. Left hook, followed by a right cross has Krsmanovic in trouble in the opening minute! Bo desperately hanging on, but Jen shrugs the brunette off and GUTS BO with a left hook below the belly button. As Krs crumbles, J-Law's diamond cutter right hand nails her FLUSH on the left side of the jaw and as Bo's knees buckle, and her head tilts to the right, her eyes roll back and she crumples to the mat on her butt, then topples backward to lay with her arms flung wide, her legs tucked under her...looking up, but not seeing...the bright lights above the ring.
Jennifer Lawrence steps over, then straddles her, staring down at Bo's still body until the referee arrives to push her toward the farthest corner, then without a second thought waves his hands overhead and calls for Bo's seconds to come to her aid.
J-Law scores a knockdown in the first minute of the 6th round and Bo can't even realize she needs to get up. She's completely and totally unconscious. J-Law wins a no-doubt KO6!

After: Shay Mitchell, after helping drag Bo back to her corner, heads across the ring to congratulate Lawrence on "an impressive win" then asks Jen to pass a message to Charlize. "Tell her I'd love to get her in the ring, soon. I don't see why Atwell should have all the fun! Theron's name will look great on my resume... I mean, now I'm making a name for myself at lightweight."
Then, smirking, she heads over to rejoin her teammates with a big, smug, smile!

"Maybe now everyone will see me as a top contender at welter and give me some respect," Jennifer huffed to a reporter as she left the ring, heading back to find Theron and give her Mitchell's message.

Later, facing the media, Jen Lawrence delivered a similar message. "I worked hard to get in top shape for this fight. Ever since Red Sparrow I've dedicated myself to staying in shape and getting even stronger. I won't say I won't fight at lightweight again - I'm sure there will be some very attractive matches for me there - but I see my future being as a welter and I plan to make it impossible for the FCBA to deny my a spot in the rankings."

"No," she said, when asked if she had a particular opponent in mind for her next welter fight. "There are plenty of women out there who, like me, have to make their case to be ranked. It makes sense that we find one another and help the FCBA sort out the standings. You only have so many title fights each year, it's up to the fighters to make their case why they deserve one of them. That's who I want to fight next, the woman...any woman... who's standing between me and the title."

Bo - decidedly downcast after her fourth straight loss - admits she doesn't have the answer to the most asked question, "What's wrong?"
She only knows, "Whatever it is, it's something we can fix... something I HAVE to fix... and I will fix it! However long it takes, I'm going to get back to where I was and then I'm making a run at the welter belt. If Lawrence gets in my way, I'll run over her to get where I want to be... where I deserve to be... where I need to be!"
