Sarah Shahi vs Danielle Campbell

Before: Sarah reflective: “No, last year wasn’t fun. Those were great fighters I lost to, and they were great fights, I have nothing bad to say about any of them. But flyweight has always been an O&E priority, and I have to pull my weight. So yes, you could say this is a “must-win” fight for me”

Danielle happy as a pig in slop, she stepped up in quality big-time this year and has taken to it quite naturally. “I love this schedule! I’m in there with the girls who made me want to be pat of this, and I can hang with them! I love it!”

Rinposts-in-sand setup. Sarah wearing her famous patterned beach-fighting bikini, black gloves, gypsy curls cascading down shoulders and back. Campbell in yellow bikini, black gloves, hair loose down her back.

R1: Sarah sets a sizzling pace, tapping out short, ratatat combinations off her jab, beating Danielle to the punch systematically lumping her up. Campbell marching in, covering up and waiting her turn—she’s just letting Shahi get off all over her, responding late as the Persian Princess steps to the side. Sarah very physical, palming up as she sidesteps to push and spin Dani, throwing a shoulder into her mouth when Campbell tries to crowd, keeping her back clear of the ropes with brisk footwork. Punching patterns include lefts and rights straight at the guard/head or rapid-fire hooks amidships, short right hands to the head—Danielle just standing in and soaking ‘em up all up.

R2: Sarah gets the job done. Job one: keep her hands up. Job two: pump stiff stick into Danielle's face and chest. Job 3: answer any Campbell right hand with a right hand of her own. Slow, clockwise rotation as little big girls step around, pump jabs - both really planting on that lead (left) leg and getting good thump on the follow-up. Slowly but surely, Shahi steadily outfights Dani in a close, but clear round. Both women's faces are starting to shine up nicely and it’s not because of the sun.

R3: Dani wrapping up and bulling Sarah to ropes—fighting off the cheerleader’s chest, it’s a different fight. Campbell pretty slick at close quarters, Shahi can’t get her counters off, winds up suffering as Danielle bumps and jostles, tucking in short, meanspirited bodyshots, clouting the jaw compact hooks and clubbing rights. Sarah languishing on the ropes to the final minute, Campbell covers up and soaks as she mounts a late rally.

R4: Danielle working out of the crouch, hopping backwards to coax Sarah forward, cleaning up with check-hooks and sudden, lead right potshots. Shahi flustered by the sheer speed, abrupt delivery - all she can do is keep her hands up, trying to walk Campbell down behind the jab and hope to time her coming in. In the final minute, Dani jabs the tummy, scoots out of range, feints like she's going body again, steps right and BRINGS THAT RIGHT HAND! Sarah biting on the feint, steps in at the wrong time and eats ALL of that crashing sucker punch. Shattering shot bounces Shahi's right ear off her shoulder, unhinges her legs - she reels ragdoll into ropes, head whiplashing on limp neck, hands at her tummy. CAMPBELL SWEEPS IN! Danielle pouncing in close, swiping vicious shots off her hips - big lashing lefts and rights as she hops side to side in front of poor Sarah. DOWN GOES SHAHI! Bludgeoning, whirlwind ferocity ends Sarah's working day, she pools nerveless to the sand as Dani hops away hooting in triumph. KO4 in blistering fashion – Danielle Campbell!

After: Danielle vaulting over the ring ropes as soon as she gets her gloves off, she’s leapfrogged the other little FoxyPunchers, and she knows it! She’s positively BOUNCING her way to the showers, hugging anything that’ll hold still long enough!
