Emily VanCamp versus Sara Sampaio
(Words & Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE: It’s a big test for Emily as she moves up to test the waters at lightweight and taking on proud Portuguese model Sara Sampaio in her first match, here at the annual ‘Independence Day’ PPV with the eyes of the world literally upon them as this event is all about international rivalries. While these two have never fought before, still plenty of tension between the two leading up to the match.

Sara’s eyes narrow as she discusses Emily: “I know that VanCamp considers herself a ‘big deal’ down at bantam, but things are bigger up here. Quite literally in my case and if Emily thinks she is going to start a new winning streak at lightweight - on my watch - then she is going to get a rude awakening here tonight. Probably at my feet after I knock her out. She just needs to realize that this isn’t her playground here.”

Emily rolls her eyes and waves a hand dismissively, “This isn’t about Sara or about how scary things can be at lightweight. This is about the fact that I’ve done so much at bantam, that I’m ready to find out whether I can conquer at two weights. Girls like Claire Danes and others, like Missy P., have been successful - so why not me? And also, our stable, despite our adoration for Kate Upton, has been VERY freakin’ clear on the fact that we are not going to let models take over the league while we’re around. So, I’m happy to do my part and stamp out a model tonight for my debut.”

Both fighters coming in angry as Emily is wearing a golden bikini with matching gloves and hair in a fighting ponytail - Sara clad in a bright red bikini with matching gloves and hair in a fighting ponytail of her own. The match is set for ten rounds in the lightweight division...

Rd 1: Even early as both women do business. VanCamp with both hands at her cheeks, moving her head, trying to weave in close and punish the ribcage. Sampaio with the left hand low, right hand at her chest - she's loping around the blonde, plying her with jabs, trying to keep the fight in the middle of the ring. Cat and mouse ends in the last minute as Sampaio flicks and slaps jabs to get VanCamp laying over on the right side - Sara leaning in and down with a crashing right on the cheek that has VanCamp stepping funky. Bruising follow up for Sampaio as she measures Brit the jab, rockets over the top with more clapping rights to drive VanCamp dazed to the ropes and EMILY GOES DOWN! VanCamp trembling, disappointed, beats the count at the bell, but she's rocked.

Rd 2: VanCamp getting rubbed down, slapped awake - she comes off her stool rejuvenated. Emily stubby with her own jab, trying to take the punch away from Sampaio, drilling the brunette in the chest with straight right hands. Midway through, Sara grimacing from jug-pancaking right hands starts trading and gets lit up a swift left hook on the chops. Sampaio's turn to go wobbly butt - she's clinching, hanging on tight as VanCamp tries to finish. Sampaio seated ropeside, left arm over Emily's shoulder - VanCamp just lathering away to jugs and exposed ribs, showing fearsome hand-speed to hammer Sara into a glassy eyed haze at the bell.

Rd 3: All Emily VanCamp! Sara looking achy, doesn't want anymore of the toe to toe. VanCamp walking her girl down, fists up high, guard tight, she's bobbing side to side, getting close, ripping away to the midsection and chest with chopping lefts and rights. Shutout VanCamp - Sampaio on the run, doing a good job at least of staying off the ropes.

Rd 4: Emily the aggressor early but runs into a crashing right hand counter that has her sputtering. Sampaio leaning in, lavishing the ribcage with a long, low slung hook - VanCamp bunching up in pain as brunette strokes her body. Sara cruel and efficient outside, circling to her right, steering VanCamp with the jab, bending into whistling right hands that have Emily leaning away with fear. Emily blocking some of the impact on well-placed mitts, but Sampaio's bombs having an effect - Emily lumping up after 4, looking shell-shocked as Sara pockets the points.

Rd 5: IT'S ALL VANCAMP! Blonde jumping inside the brunette's jab, HOOKING TIT, HOOKING TIT, jamming over the guard a clubbing right hand, hooking the belly - Sampaio in ramshackle retreat as VanCamp unleashes punches in bunches. Fight careens to the ropes - Emily
always in position to punch, getting her body behind the licks, ripping her fists into Sara and snapping 'em back into her high guard for more. Sampaio suffering, crying out from the odd body wrap, and clinching more often in desperate bid to slow the punishment. Bell to bell Emily - she's investing heavily in Sampaio's long legs for the latter half.

Rd 6: VanCamp fresher, hungrier - Sampaio looking shopworn, punished as she gets off her stool and tries to lope the perimeter. Emily cutting off the ring with quick strides, stumping straight right hands to the chest to put Sara ropeside, then it's a two fisted romp! VanCamp unleashing straight rights, clouting hooks - Sampaio's defense falling apart as punches bang back her face or thump against her breasts and the REF STEPS IN! Emily VanCamp jumping away, squealing in triumph as Sara Sampaio slumps into the official's arms. TKO6 Emily VanCamp.

AFTER: Emily beaming as she bounds over to a nearby turnbuckle, raising her fists over her head and pumping a double bicep flex for the cheering crowd. Beaming as she blows kisses and appears jubilant following her big win in her lightweight debut. Emily bounces off the turnbuckle and turns to face Sara, who has by now fully recovered and is arguing with the referee after what she feels was a too-quick stoppage. Emily takes a moment to blow her a kiss and after a wink, dismisses her from her sight as she turns to face the press with a big grin, over the sound of an outraged Sampaio, who is cursing in Portuguese and vowing revenge.

“What did I tell you?” Emily says, face glowing, “Girls continue to underestimate me. They did it at bantam until I won multiple titles and looks like they’re going to do the same here. But, when girls like Troian, who I owned at bantam think that they can run away from me up to a bigger weight class, they’re going to find out differently. Anything Troi can do, I can do better. Always have and always will. So, looks like I’ve got what it takes to hang out at lightweight tonight, so I guess we’ll find out who is next soon. But, tonight, I’m going to go party before I take down some of the lightweight ‘elite’, you know?.”

Lookout! staff bundle Emily off before she can start naming names, but clearly she has some targets, such as Bellisario, in mind as she looks to make waves and enemies here at lightweight. Emily struts from the ring, leaving a furious Sara in her wake, a press corps shouting out questions and the crowd chanting “E-V-C” as she basks in a successful lightweight debut!
