Tahnee Atkinson versus Katy Perry (Welterweight title)(Words: O & E / Results: Lookout!)

Before: Katrina Law had the chance to protect Righetti’s record sewn up until Bridget Regan proved that whatever else happens to her, she’s still the thorn in Bonzo’s side. Katy stepping into the gap, if she feels slighted, it doesn’t show: “I know she’s the second coming of Kelly Brook, but I’m not the same fighter Kelly dropped five times! There’s nothing in Tahnee’s arsenal that I haven’t seen before, but she’s going to be surprised by what I bring!”

Tahnee giving Katy’s bluster the brush-off: “No let up, that’s the plan for this fight! I’m going in strong on Katy, backing her up and taking this fight to the ropes. She won’t be able to breathe in there, everywhere she turns, that’s where I’m going to be!”

Katy enters wearing her signature all-red ensemble, blonde hair upswept. Tahnee in black & white demi-cup, hair trailing over her right shoulder, black gloves.

R1: Slow stalk to mid-ring - some preliminary hard jabs as girls sort each other out, then mutual agreement to set up shoulder to shoulder. Right hands under chins, lefts across bodies, elbows in and girls just taking turns strappin' tidy at close quarters. Tahnee’s short-arm hook clapping off Katy's hip. Perry answering right hand off Atkinson's left shoulder. Tahnee short hammer drop right hand to Katy's bulging rack. Perry stuffing, short, backhand left into Atkinson's jugs. Slow steppin' rotation as ham-handed girls spank away beefy tit for tat. Bell: Katy's been a little busier, a little bossier, moving Tahnee around - both girls know it.

R2: Katy spends the first minute establishing her jab - still out of the strong, relaxed punching stance, stepping it into Tahnee's guard. Atkinson blocking, not answering back - she's waiting to get back shoulder to shoulder. Middle minute - Perry obliging on range, but doing it smart - shooting the right hand, bringing the mop up hook back underneath - 2 beat punching has the Champ waiting her turn. Tahnee dipping slightly side to side, getting off thick hooks, but hitting Katy in the guard, blonde getting the choicer cuts of beef as she tucks hook to belly, rights to jug, hooks to teeth. Down the stretch, little bit of footwork sets up a nice moment for Atkinson: she half-steps back, draws Perry in and drops a tart right hand on the challenger's chin. Hurtin' pony-trot Katy: she whinnies back into position, but Tahnee's proven she can get to her prey's legs in the second.

Rd 3: Tahnee banging out first minute jabs: stick's a difference-maker. Katy hanging back, batting at the incoming and parrying, but she does not like being on the receiving end of the Front Streets jab. Atkinson driving in right crosses off the stick, shaving chin - Perry shying away as she feels the lancing power on even glancing blows. Tahnee closing to work jug down the stretch - just good, thick strapping hooks and clouting right hands, really laying 'em in strong as Katy backs her way to ropes. Atkinson nice n' brawny, nudging up left shoulder/left elbow, then hook the hooters righty off the bump - Perry sullen, trying to stay covered up, soaking up a beating in the third.

R4: Trudging, shoulder to shoulder back&forth, girls taking turns stroking away tidy, big beefy impacts bellies & breasts. Real job of work: both girls glossy with sweat, both exhaling through pursed lips, easing into each other to shoulder-nudge and walk-around. Paunches swatted and cuffed CHUP! CHUP! as girls hook expertly off the bump inside. Not a lot of chin-work: silent agreement to break each other down to the torso in addition to girls tucking chins well behind shoulders mitigating against head hunting. Katy having trouble standing her ground when the Bossie Aussie is coming forward.

R5: Steady, stroking brawling continues - Tahnee coming forward for the most part - but Katy finding better angles for her right hand by dropping her right foot back and catching the champ on the way in. Middle minute sees clear signs of both fighters breaking down, buttocks are wobbling on impact; punch output dropping both ways. Atkinson stumbling forward, trying to get her feet under her, as Perry disengages, stepping right, dropping the right hand into an unintentional kidney punch. Tahnee bunching up, Katy carving hooks to brunette’s tanned midriff off the front foot - lusty licks thrown in desperation. Innocent looking one-two jams in between Atkinson's mitts - she's stunned, frozen on the spot: Perry quickly shifts weight, jerks a left uppercut off the front foot, neatly taking the Champ on her chin. Tahnee’s head snapped back, comes back just staring how-could-you at Katy - then GOES DOWN! Delayed reaction slow-mo knockdown – Atkinson sputtering backwards a few steps before plopping down (jugs slamming violently up and down as she scoots to a stop) - she's very disoriented - very tentative getting to her feet. Katy brightening, smacking mitts together, then making a title-belt gesture in the neutral corner, when Tahnee's hurt, Katy's happy.

R6: Trudging battle of attrition, both girls shopworn, partially broken down at this point. Tahnee comes forward in spots, driving through with her right hand to Katy's jaw, walking her back, hooking at her tummy. Perry lavishing punishment on Atkinson’s torso - pounding it, lashing it, strapping it - just big, beefy, succulent whacks with venomous leverage on every stroke. Both women repeatedly wobbled and shook. Both very expressive when hurt - the batting eyelashes, the parted lips - clear invitations for the other to redouble her efforts. Cuffing hook of Katy's paunch late doubles her up - she backs butt first into ropes, choking back tears. Tahnee wades in, gently riding her left hand behind Perry's head while plowing brutal right hands in the body. Atkinson lost in slugging mode, still slammin' after the bell, Katy bawling out loud to quicken the ref.

R7: Tahnee edges shoulder-in, more determined than ever - but Katy's catching a second wind, starting to find her groove again. Perry plants her feet, left shoulder bumping Atkinson 's left shoulder - challenger grimly slamming away in tidy swats, beating Tahnee's mouthwatering torso. Huge investment in jug over the first minute and a half, hooks thumping home and loosening Atkinson's stance. Tahnee shying away at last, sliding her lead foot while retreating - she's disengaging, but still in position to walk Katy onto shots. Perry crowding, head down as she turns into that vicious right hand to Atkinson's hip: champ grimacing, torso warping a little around the punch - she's in full flight after 2 minutes. Trapped against the ropes, Katy pressurizing Tahnee, stiff uppy from the crouch startles, setting her up for bang-bang right/lefts to the waist. Atkinson woozy - sliding to her right, dukes up but loose, Perry, stepping-with, keeping her jab on JMDD_grade chest to locate her, then bashing away strong, strapping clout from either hand. Tahnee swaying slightly at the bell, seconds through the ropes to get her to her stool - she's hurt and both girls know it.

R8: Monster aggression from Katy, blood in the water and she feels it: right hand swivels Tahnee’s head left, the lefty double chopping chin snapping it back, the spearhead right into her rack! Atkinson rocked back on her heels, loops the left arm around Perry’s shoulder, pulls them into a desperation clinch. AND SETS UP THE RIGHT HAND! Tahnee jerks a short straight shot to chin, wobbling Katy’s backside. Atkinson shifts-right, slops a rangy sidearm left to jaw - then back underneath with the right uppercut. Katy’s head flinging back, BLASTING shot jolts challenger to her toes, she goes limp against Tahnee's torso, then stumbles past her as champ sidesteps...PERRY GOES DOWN! Katy tumbling face-down near ropes...struggling up only to pitch face-first into ropes, then reel sideways to fall onto her right hip. Perry desperately hurt, reaching to get a grip on the ropes, trying pull herself up...she drops back down onto her buns all frazzled and hurt and that's it! KO8 Tahnee Atkinsons in Thunder Goddess fashion!

After: Tahnee all "told you so" in the aftermath. "I'm not some girl who got lucky one night and won the welterweight titles. What I am is the best big girl in the world, and I've proved it by facing the best girls in the world. Knocking them off, and knocking them OUT. Because that's what I do.
