Katheryn Winnick (40, 5’4, 123 lbs, 8:3 FCBA, The Dollhouse) Vs. Michelle Rodriguez (40, 5’5, 124 lbs, 11:10 FCBA, Free Agent)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse
BEFORE: “I know what you’re all thinking…” Katheryn chuckles at the conference table, dressed in an elegant white summer dress and looking as relaxed as her attire. “Katheryn must hate easy things… Actually, I do. I find no satisfaction in taking down someone I can beat easily, which is why we chose Michelle for my next fight. We as well as you guys all know she’s as tough as they come, and I have great respect for her both as a fighter and an actress. I’m confident that I can win here tonight, but I think it’s gonna be one hell of a fight. She’d be very wrong to think of me as just another rookie and take me lightly, however. I’m not new to combat and she knows it. Overall, I’m sure this will be an awesome fight to spectate for the fans, and I’m looking forward to giving them another strong performance. As always, may the best woman win!”
The blonde certainly has had some consecutive luck in the ring recently, with impressive wins over Summer Glau and Kendra Wilkinson - opponents not to be sneezed at either. But she’s right as well - Michelle Rodriguez is one tough powerful woman, and she likes to make sure everyone is aware of that.
“Look, I respect Winnick.” Michelle begins her own monologue with a compliment. “She challenged me to a fight. That’s a brave move on her part. She’s still a rookie as far as I’m concerned - I’ve been doing this for more than 15 years after all. Also, she said some ‘nice’ things about me,” Michelle pauses for chuckles around the room, then pretends to smile as if they mattered. “Unfortunately for her, she’s made a big mistake. Scratch that – a *colossal* mistake. I know Katheryn is a veteran martial artist, and trust me, I’m all about respecting tough, badass women. But tonight, we’re fighting in a boxing ring, and we can only use our fists. That is where things are gonna get problematic for her, because here is what I DON’T respect: I don’t respect someone who with barely 10 boxing matches under her belt thinks she stands a chance against me in a boxing ring. Let me make a few things clear, Winnick: You’re nowhere near as strong as me or as tough, nor are you as skilled enough at boxing to keep up with me once we’re in that ring together. I’m 5-2 since I returned to boxing two years ago, and these bad boys…” Rodriguez raises her fists menacingly in Winnick’s direction “...are ready to mow you down on my way to 6-2. You’re in for a very painful night, blondie.” Michelle concludes, kissing her fist and sending a menacing stare in the blonde’s direction. “Let’s go Blondie.”
The American Latina just turned 40 herself, making the age difference between both fighters negligible at best. Still, Winnick is anticipated to fight an uphill battle here tonight with her choice of opponent.
Its fight time and Winnick first out, striking a pose waving to fans in all directions. The buxom blonde is wearing her white and black fight attire including a sporta bra and tights, black and white boxing gloves comlpeting her look with her hair up in a high messy ponytail. Katheryn is accompanied by both Carmen Electra and Kristanna Loken as she jogs lightly towards the ring, beaming with a confident smile on her face the whole way. Taking to her corner, the blonde begins jumping in place and stretching in anticipation for her opponent.
Michelle Rodriguez is up next, bursting through the curtains to some loud boos from Katheryn’s home crowd. The Latina raises one fist up and slowly makes her way to the ring, a cocky smirk on her face with her eyes locked at her opponent the entire way. Michelle is wearing a black sports bra and red\black silk boxing trunks, black gloves, her hair in a very tight sleek ponytail. The brunette finally makes it into the ring, pointing at the awaiting blonde and shooting some last words in her direction before turning her back to her and walking to her own corner.
Girls do their final prep work at opposite corners of the ring, but hell - the atmosphere between these two women certainly taking a turn for the worse with Katheryn shaking her head and having some words of her own for her opponent that only the ref and Michelle can hear. No more taunting now though as the ref is ready to start things off her! These two will face off for ten rounds of Bantamweight action! HERE we go!
ROUND 1: Michelle starting this fight with pure muscle and aggression, and we wouldn’t expect anything less. The American charges forward almost immediately, like a bull on steroids, as she tries to overpower the newcomer with heavy shots to her guard from the get go. That breakout movie she did all those years ago still making a big impression - let’s not forget, Michelle literally trained with the best female boxers on the planet in order to get ready for her starring role in ‘Girl Fight’. She shows Katheryn what she knows early, stalking her about the ring and pushing her backwards multiple times with fists to the forearms and the belly. Katheryn, to her credit, anticipating this onslaught early on, is semi-prepared when the storm finally hits her hard. She’s planning to stick to her strategy of out-boxing her opponent from afar, and those backtracking feet could be all part of the plan as she snaps occasional jabs back into Michelle’s head just to irritate her, but also to make it known that she’s not one to be completely dominated. Honestly, it’s kinda hard to tell here who’s in control this early. All we know is that Michelle achieves what she set out to do in the first round, taking it by wide margin by the time the bell rings.
ROUND 2: Though it may appear to be a one-sided affair for the Dollhouse blonde, keen observers still giving her credit as she deals with Michelle’s aggressive tactics the best she can. Katheryn aware of her surroundings at least, not letting her back hit the ropes to get herself trapped helplessly in the corner like some newbie. She’s diligently swatting away or parrying the long jabs from Michelle, using the stiff power of the brunette against her by throwing her off balance from remnant momentum, then slapping leather into her face to make up for lost points. Michelle only realising that her power-tactics not really working until the second half of this round, when she starts visibly slowing down and hanging back. Or it could just be herself tiring out quickly, attempts at trying to steamroll the blonde early on not succeeding so well. A couple of heavy hooks crash hard into Winnick’s body on either side towards the end of this round, but generally she stems the tide and bites back harder.
ROUND 3: Those strong words coming back to hunt Rodriguez when she can’t even huff a response to her trainers in between rounds, her body covered with sweat and struggling to keep her head from spinning from exertion. I guess that’s what happens when a charging bull tries to charge blindly. For all her tough talk and bragging about her experience, not a good round for her. Michelle more or less staying in her corner this round and taking hits non-stop from the other woman. Katheryn playing the long-game, it’s finally revealed, as she cautiously comes forward to strike and slowly builds the pressure after she discovers Michelle prime for the plucking! Dull grunts from Rodriguez’s lips as she attempts to cover up her head but her body taking a beating instead. Her return hooks at Kath’s head just too slow and lumberous for them to have any effect, Kath just weaving her torso backwards to avoid the incoming blows. If it’s any consolation, Michelle still standing at the end of three minutes, though just barely - she needs to dig deep here in order to contend further, the vast difference between both women’s fighting styles now becoming super apparent after a few rounds of observation. Katheryn with a monster of a round for herself, but still a shame that she didn’t manage to score a knockdown here. Could this missed opportunity come back to bite her in the future?
ROUND 4: ROAR from Michelle’s corner as she ignores the warning signs and simply goes back into high gear again... Come on - that disaster of the third hasn’t sunk into her head that this might be a bad idea? Katheryn ready for her, keeping her distance and just blocking against her heavy attacks to the forearms. Michelle still blasting and swinging, succeeds in tagging Winnick’s tummy once or twice, but the longer this exchange goes on, the less impact her punches seem to have on her. Winnick patiently biding her time… and Michelle still doesn’t get the memo. It’s only until a double-hook lands on either side of Michelle’s face does she seem to panic from the pain shooting up her brain. Both women are swinging away hard at each other at this point of the round, but Kath clearly the one hurting more, swiveling Michelle’s head to the side, then jerking her body with thunderous lefts and rights. Grunting coming exclusively from Michelle’s lips as she’s the one being pushed backwards one punch and one step at a time… another right hook SNAPS her head right, the latina loses her balance and GOES DOWN!! IT’S A KNOCKDOWN FOR KATH WINNICK!!
Impressive out-boxing from the blonde as she exploits Michelle’s weaknesses to great effect! Michelle dazed and scrambling on all fours, mouth agape and wondering where the hell she is, whereas Katheryn confidently striding back to her corner, one fist raised high to acknowledge the roar of the fans. Referee doing due diligence, counting out the so-called ‘veteran’ fighter as she struggles to pull herself back up in time… he hits the 10-count and Rodriguez has barely made it off her knees! This fight is declared OVER, folks!
Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Michelle Rodriguez via KO4!
AFTER: Katheryn with another impressive win under her belt, and what a win it is! Rodriguez one of those unofficial Bantamweight gatekeepers, indicating that there might be some gold dust on the blonde’s horizon if she continues along this path. Still, Kath ever modest, choosing to acknowledge her win with a small but knowing smile and a wave to her fans, letting her handiwork do the talking for her.
Michelle having given up her efforts to recover, now resting defeated on the middle ropes as she soaks in the humiliation of losing to this ‘rookie’ tonight. Katheryn actually feeling empathy for the woman that just an hour ago was showing her no respect, chooses to walk over in order to check on her status. Not sure how much Michelle is even registering the blonde’s words, but the Latino bombshell allows herself to get helped up to her feet, and the two girls share a brief compliment at having been part of such a great fight.
Michelle obviously nodding along without being too happy about it, but the two girls end the cordial exchange with the briefest of hugs, before Katheryn returns to her corner to continue her celebration with teammates. |
