Introduction

We’re in Rome tonight for the Bonzo’s Gym Summer PPV Event. Our four-fight card will not take place at a conventional sports arena. On this special occasion of Ferragosto, we’re at the Circus Maximus in the heart of Rome, the legendary former entertainment venue of the Roman Empire.

It has occasionally been used as a concert venue in the present day, and to celebrate the nation’s football team during World Cups (not this year, though!).

This is where our four ring posts have been put into the ground for tonight’s event. Stands have been put around it, but the atmosphere will still be a bit less informal, more makeshift, rustic.

The line-up is short, but stellar…

1.

Kira Kosarin’s winning streak against Chimera ended at the hands of Charlize Theron, the G.O.A.T., on the July PPV: Kira’s wreaked havoc among a lot of young competitors (PLL, we’re looking at you!), but does the Theron loss possibly signal that despite her whirlwind-ish rise to the top, Kira’s still vulnerable to the slick-fisted methods of an almost-twenty-year veteran? We’re going to find out tonight, as Kira meets Claire Danes.

2.

Katrina Law has long chased her first title. She would have likely been given another chance if she had beaten Bridget Regan. She didn’t. In a division of supermodels, how many chances is K-Law going to get, with a supermodel now in the ranks of her own stable? Katrina needs wins now…can she get one against the woman who denied her the title in the past, Cassidy Freeman?

3.

Our prospect Camille Kostek is Bonzo’s bet on the supermodel craze hitting the league for some time now. Tahnee Atkinson has manifested herself as the most dominant welterweight champion since 2016 and is leaving a trail of devastated foes behind her. Camille’s brazen and not afraid of her more experienced peers…she wants to finish Tahnee JMD-style, no less.

4.

What if Amanda Righetti had never moved to welterweight in 2009? Well, it’s no risky bet to say that she would have likely crossed the paths of Yvonne Strahovski, arguably the most decorated, possibly most gifted, lightweight of the past decade. You can’t get any more “pound for pound” than this.

Let’s get this event started!
