BEFORE: Selena Gomez is no stranger to top-flight exposure but a crushing defeat to Stella Hudgens is not what you'd expect from an allegedly complete fighter with championship ambitions. It's bad enough that Jessica Lowndes steals the Lioness Club Alpha headlines already, now the friendship with former Lookout stablemate Vanessa Hudgens is also at risk with Selena accusing the sisters of working in a tag-team to secure Stella her biggest FCBA scalp to date.

On the other hand British sexpot Roxanne Pallett comes off her biggest win on American soil to date courtesy of a sixth round punchout of former champion Lucy Hale back on the April PPV. The 'Emmerdale' veteran has turned her attention to 'Celebrity Big Brother' during the summer but she's been granted a boxing pardon tonight which ought to boost her chances of winning the show outright! The pressure is on Gomez and Roxy vows to beat her up so badly even Tractorpull Magazine will take notice of this performance!

Selena Gomez wears a turquoise bikini set and red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Roxanne Pallett wears a pink bikini set with black trim and black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a similar custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
The pressure is indeed on the younger brunette who wastes little time in connecting with Roxanne's face in a Lowndes-like aggresive drive during the opening minute. Selena's superior reach is too big of a weapon not to use it straight from the gun and Pallett's forced into defensive circles hand over fist while trying to loop weak response that barely grazes the American's flesh. Selena gets a little vocal when she finds a double hooking combo on the temple which wobbles Roxy onto the ropes and there's no escape for the Brit as she soaks up point-blank range abuse that snaps her head back repeatedly. Uh-oh! Selena powers through the leaky guard and gives the older woman a proper thumping that is only halted by the bell. However it's pretty clear for the fans that Selena really wants to make up for that Stella upset here!

Round 2:
Roxanne is ten years Selena's senior so she's not going to beat her for outright pace and agility but she recovers well from the opening round struggle and accepts the slugging opportunity as Gomez comes flying in again only to find a crisp series tackling her to the body. Pallett leans on the fellow brunette and delivers more midsection juice that stalls the American's progress and leaves her badly exposed when more punches connect with her flesh. She wobbles forward but fails to find any respite as Roxanne whacks her on the rack and sends into more trouble when finally hauls in some head shots to boot. Selena tries to brawl through the spirited Pallett recovery but gets outworked in close range down the stretch. She has to yield real estate before it gets really ugly however Roxy keeps stalking her with a high-tempo assault and signs off her pursuit with another piercing hook on the nose. Gomey looks stunned as she turns back to coach Eva Mendes who isn't pleased at all...

Round 3:
It seems like a full-scale attack will dominate the CBAD tactics tonight until one girl simply runs out of gas... Roxy doubles up on her aggressive push and clatters into Selena's body which drops the younger brunette on her heels. A quick head clash stalls the action but Selena struggles to swing over the top with the plucky Brit hammering more juice to the body in such ferocious fashion that she leaves the American gasping in discomfort. Roxy's really up for another upset here and she pounds an overwhelmed Gomez back to the ropes while coach Mendes begins to lose her temper in the LCA corner. It's all to no avail though as Pallett rips some textbook JMD punches to keep her opponent under wraps and cleans out Selena's breadbasket thereafter. Ugh! Gomez wobbles against the turnbuckle and disappears behind a desperate earmuff while Pallett yells at her and has to be pulled back by the ref when the bell signals the end of this one-sided dispute.

Round 4:
"What are U doing?", coach Mendes tries to channel some Latin heat into her protegee during the break and Selena finally shows enough speed across the boards to enforce a mid-range comfort zone that has Roxy slicing thin air at the start of the fourth. A couple of looping hooks catch her on the nose as well but that only fuels her desire to resume the slugging war of attrition. Selena stands her ground during the opening minute and riffles another huge cross that tags the Brit's nose before a booming hook finds the left brow ridge and sinks the 'Emmerdale' stunner into spasms. Ugh! Gomez doubles up and whacks the older brunette on the boobs which makes Pallett squeal even louder and as she tries to sidestep away from the American's range, she trips over her own feet and can only soak up a left/right combo on the nose THAT PUTS HER DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE!! Talk about a massive cooler for the British hopes now! Roxy claimed she simply fell on her own and recovers quickly at five but Gomey knows better and hauls in immediate pressure to stack up more punches upstairs. Pallett fails to lock the high guard and gets battered back to the ropes where she gets picked off by a relentless Gomez charge and it looks like that Latin spirit is well and truly back as the older brunette only scowls through her struggles and offers nothing back to stop the Lioness prowl.

Round 5:
Pallett wants to restore her mojo but walks into a crunching left hook and gets beaten for a right-on-right follow up that tags her on the nose and wobbles forward into a jaw-busting uppercut. Ugh! She fish-tails on the spot but what's worse, she fails to raise her gloves in time so Gomez WHACKS her on the nose with another combo that drops blood on the canvas... ROXY IS HURT... she groans even louder when Selena connects with more headshots and has the Brit sinking faster than 'Prince of Wales'. The wounded nose doesn't help her cause at all and Gomez kicks into full destruction mode as she lands one cruel punch after another on Roxanne's face... the poor Brit simply can't survive this barrage AND CRASHES DOWN ON HER BACK with a loud whimper! Coach Eva Mendes seems more animated than anyone over this outcome while Gomez stares down at the fallen rival for a while before the ref eventually shoves her to neutral corner. Even this delay won't help Roxy though; she gets duly counted out! KO5 Selena Gomez!!!

AFTER: Selena only rolls her eyes when Eva Mendes tries to pump her up following this much-needed victory that postpones any fears about looming slump because some questions will have to be asked regardless. The Lioness flyweight Beta got badly outboxed during a couple of rounds and Roxanne Pallett was on the verge of another high-profile upset tonight. But it's perharps refreshing to see Selena not resting on victory laurels; she requires these results day-in and day-out to confirm her status as a divisional elite. And please don't even ask coach Mendes what Jessica Lowndes thinks about it! The LCA gym integrity remains in tact despite whatever Shenae Grimes indicating otherwise on social media!

Meanwhile it's a tough loss for Roxanne who is set to return to the CBB house with a banged up nose that will probably draw jokes from other members on the show. If Roxy wants to win extra votes, she'll have to do it in a different fashion. The boxing wild card got burned tonight!
