2. Odette Yustman versus Luisana Lopilato (Lightweight)

Odette:

Luisana:
(30, 5’7, 115, 13:5 FCBA, VIXENs)

BEFORE:
“Kelly’s win was a fluke, okay? Look how far she’s fallen right after our match ended? And look at who I’ve beaten instead since then: Biel, Cuoco… it doesn’t get much better than that, does it?” Odette stating the facts with stern conviction at the press conference, completely ignoring the two blondes seated at the opposite end of the table. “The bottom line is: Kelly’s going to go down tonight at the hands of Karolina, who’s an awesome athlete in her own right. And as for Luisana’s chances against me in the ring? They’re practically zero. She’s a freakin’ Bantamweight! Enuff said.”

Luisana looking perplexed as she listens to Odette go off and on at the other side of the room, first attacking her teammate, then now at herself. When it’s her turn to answer questions from reporters, she does so in a calm but confident tone:

“Correct me if I’m wrong, Odette, but this is *exactly* the kind of attitude that brought you down at the hands of Kelly. You underestimated her, and you’re doing the same thing with me now. I don’t have much else to say, other than let’s go, girl, if you’re so ready to win this.”

Staredown at the podium goes off without much of a fuss, unless you count Odette poking a finger in Luisana’s chest and almost receiving a hard slap in the face any sort of real drama. Both girls with only three years experience and one-inch height apart, certainly making for an interesting contest tonight.

Luisana in white bra, panties, red gloves, whereas Odette in classic opposite: black bikini and white leather to match. The crowd is eager to get this fight started, so HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Luisana shocking everyone with her early, aggressive tactics, meeting Odette three-quarters of the way of the ring and then stunning her with a left and right straight to the guard. Yustman ill-prepared for the early onslaught, finds it difficult to block them all completely. Her face gets lit up by more errant jabs, but soon gets it into her own head that she’s supposed to be the one doing the punching here. Odette sticking her right hand into Luisana’s face, paying her back with some punishment and telling everyone that she’s not gonna be some pushover so easily, sweetie. Girls continue with the rapid exchanges to the chest and chin, before Yustman eats another right hand and goes stumbling right! Luisana chasing after, but Odette getting the hell outta there! A good round for both girls as they scored a’plenty in these first three minutes, but hell if Lopilato’s the one looking like she’s just won this thing wide on her first rodeo!

ROUND 2:
Former champ seething, not taking this affront lying down. She meets Luisana right back in the middle with aggression of her own, slamming jabs into the forearms before jumping back right before Luisana can retaliate with a swipe of her own. Odette showing the masses how a former champion does things, playing with the blonde for the rest of the round in similar fashion. Luisana’s smile all but gone as she struggles to keep up, her jabs landing on the guard or just swishing at inches from Odette’s nose. It’s only when Yustman thrusts another two straight hands into the blonde’s nose does she get a thump back to the side of her ribs, with Luisana all too happy to respond with a long-awaited connection. Is it enough though? Not nearly. Round ends just like the last one, but firmly in Odette’s corner this time.

ROUND 3:
More of the same like the second, with Luisana huffing a little heavier as she catches her breath. Odette all too happy to fill in the gaps, coming onto her with a rapid barrage of punches that quickly overwhelm her. Luisana taking a shot to the nostrils, then her tummy getting dented with straight hands, Yustman like a kung-fu master striking strikes all over her body in rapid drumming succession. The volume of the crowd goes up a notch when Odette swings a knockout right hook at the head, but it MISSES with a loud SWISH as Luisa ducks under, before SNAPS a hook of her own into the side of the Lioness’ face and sending her stumbling backwards! BOY are these two going full at it! Odette not prepared for another all-out charge, takes the final seconds of the round to catch her breath behind raised gloves. It’s her round, that’s for sure, but Luisa smartly executed that final manoeuvre to let everyone know that she’s still in the game!

ROUND 4:
Odette striding forward yet again, looking to continue the abuse. Luisa covering up whilst moving forward, taking a flurry to the forearms and belly button before she SHOCKS the tall brunette with another side-hook to the face! UGHH. Odette mouth open, stunned, when ANOTHER hook grazes past, and she’s sent into the ropes in full retreat! Tummy and chest payback now as the Vixen fires away whilst keeping in close, more swings bangin’ off Odette’s flanks before her own guard rocked and rattled with more punches. Odette’s footwork giving her the slight edge her, moving sideways and away from Luisana’s attacks, one painful foot at a time. Pretty soon, Luisana has to realise that she’s not catching her foe in time, let alone putting her down for this count. The Vixen jabbing from afar for the final minute, but spends more effort trying to catch her breath, really, allowing Yustman to score some return long shots of her own as she circles and tests the waters for a comeback.

ROUND 5:
Girls doing well by their respective corners, taking two rounds apiece and hungry for more… Fifth round and Odette easily side-steps a charging Luisa, before planting a hard one into her face. Luisa grunts, not expecting to take punishment at this point. And it’s sort of all downhill for her there on out, with her chassis clearly running on empty and Odette still left with enough to stalk and circle in for the kill. Luisana takes another side-swipe at the cheek, before managing to cover up and rotate in order to face down her foe. She’s still alert and adapting best she can, taking more shots to her guard but leaving her body exposed as a result. Yustman all too happy to oblige: straight hands smacking into the tummy, slowly withering away at her strength and stamina. Luisana takes the opportunity to whack a couple of hands right into Odette’s chin towards the end of the round, but it’s clearly not enough to let it get away from her. Odette happily takes this mid-point by a wide margin.

ROUND 6:
Some talk of Lopilato fighting at Lightweight for a while now, and there was no better litmus test than taking on a former Lightweight champion herself, in what’s quickly turning into bad news now for the blonde. Odette snapping her head back repeatedly in the opening seconds after a brief moment of hesitation by both women, when she said ‘Screw it’ and went into full-on assault mode. That first straight hand to Luisana’s nose and lips must have landed hard, because the girl’s already reeling backwards in a frenzy to cover up her face, her eyes tearing and wincing in pain. Odette advancing, shooting in those hands relentlessly. Another one-two bash into the face, then a right hand sent UPWARDS into the chin seems to have done the trick! Luisana CRUMPLING on her spot, her back sliding down the ropes and falling onto her side pooled on the floor! IS IT OVER FOR HER??

Odette with a tired smile on her face, forehead covered with sweat and shaped with dishevelled hair, as she heads back to neutral corner, leaving the blonde to her own fate. Luisana getting counted out but it certainly looks like a lost cause: she’s trying to prop herself up on her elbows on her side, but the referee is already at the mid-way count of 5. Still, the Vixen defying all odds, appears to pick up the rate of recovery towards the end, forcing her legs to hold and quiver right at the count of 9! What resilience! What tenacity! But will it be f*cking enough??

There’s two minutes left on the clock and that smirk’s still on Odette’s face, bright as day. Perhaps it’s that evil intent on display, or perhaps it’s just well-deserved kudos to her opponent, who still managed to rise even after that shellacking from a former champion. Bell rings to resume this round and HERE COMES YUSTMAN... Luisana doing her best to side-step and get out of the charge, but it’s little use: Odette keeping herself in the pocket now, banging hooks into ANY and EVERY inch of open season that’s available! Luisana groaning and mewing, covering her head and body in alternate flashes of forearms, but it does little to bring relief from the constant leather being shoved into her body and up into her chin! One more minute of this and the ref HAS SEEN ENOUGH - HE WAVES THIS FIGHT OFF!!

Official Decision: Odette Yustman defeats Luisana Lopilato via TKO6!

AFTER:
Did the man make the right call here? We certainly think so! Luisana’s guard was still up and her arms moving, but it was mainly to protect herself from further damage, and the blonde did little to change her fortunes by that two-minute mark.

Regardless, Odette of course celebrating with a short jump into the air, two hands raised high, whereas Luisana sinking down to her knees, onto all fours, as the reality of her loss sinks in. Despite this being a stable ‘war’, there’s no reason for incivility. Odette quickly coming back to praise and encourage her former foe, giving her a brief hug on the floor, before standing back up and heading to her corner to receive more cheers and congratulations from her mates.

For a Lightweight who’s still struggling to find her place in the Lioness hierarchy, hopefully this win here tonight will improve Yustman’s prospects, both in the division as well as her own stable. Still, her win soon and possibly about to be overshadowed by the newest addition and Queen of the locker room, Ms Brooklyn Decker herself, as she squares off against the Vixen Queen Hannah Ferguson in our Main-Event later tonight. For now, we hope you’d still around to see more VIX/Lioness action coming right up!
