MIA KANG VS NATALIE ALYN LIND

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Mia: 29 YO, 5’9 (1.75 m), 1-3-0, 1 KO since 2017, The Fighting Academy

Natalie: 19 YO, 5’5 (1,65 m), 5-2-0. 5 KO since 2017. Foxfire Boxing

Before: “Well,” young Natty Lind says looking over at her future opponent, “I can’t deny she’s got a bit of a size advantage. What is it, Mia your 5’9 to my 5’5?”

Mia Kang nods, but she doesn’t look like she appreciates Natalie’s lighthearted attitude.

“That’s what I thought,” Natty chatters on. “I know could end up with my cute little butt on the canvas, but, hey, I could win too. Chop down the Giant and get myself a big reputation for taking on bigger opponents. I figure I have nothing to lose in this one. No offense, Mia, but it won’t look so good if a squirt like me takes you down.”

“I guess I might as well give up now, because according to you I can’t win even I win,” snaps the irritated Mia.

“You would have to satisfaction of seeing me stretched out cold and show you’re not just another Sports Illustrated jobber. You know: Looks Good in a Swimsuit, But Can’t Fight a Lick!” Natalie continue.

“Smacking that smirk off your face and showing I don’t put up with disrespect. That’s plenty of motivation for me!” retorts the exotic Chinese-Korean-British beauty.

“I think I’ve probably said enough.” Natalie said cheerfully, “My work here is done. See you rin the ring, Mia. I think this is going to fun.”

Mia Kang gives a snort of disgust: “Tell me how much fun it was when I’ve been you to a steaming heap of blonde!”

“Oooo, you keep talking sexy like that, you’ll get good at it in no time!” Natalie teases and skips from the stage as Mia Kang smolders.

Waiting in the wings is Foxfire’s young office assistant Bailee Madison: “I swear Natty, one of these times your ‘Bad Girl’ routine really is going to get you a beat down.”

Natalie smiles: “Mia is 1-3. I don’t say it will be easy, but I think I’ve got a chance to pull off a win. Especially, if I can distract her with some pre-fight trash talk. I like being the ‘Bad Girl’ . It’s fun. It’s not like I hit below the belt or see how many other rules I can break. I just like to run my mouth,”

“Yes you do,” Bailee said with a sigh. “Come on ‘Bad Girl Lind’, you still have a lot of work to do getting ready to actually win this fight…”

On the night of the fight, Natalie Alyn Lind came to the ring in a powder blue bikini with dark blue gloves and boots (light blue laces). Mia Kang was in red bikini with white boots and gloves (red laces). Both had their hair pulled back in battle braids. Natalie was in her usual impudent mood and Mia was not pleased about it. Still, they managed to get through the ring instructions without much conflict (a hip bump or two), and were soon back in their corners. The bell rang,

R1: Mia Kang moves quickly to use her superior reach to punch Natalie as she tries to come in. Natalie keeps trying to get in closer, but Mia striking at her chin and swatting at her jaw with lefts and rights, Natalie getting her head banged around extensively and her offensive sputters out, Mia then starts circling around a dazed and sluggish young woman striking at her breasts and belly. Natalie quickly becomes defensive, but can’t seem to land her counters on the very mobile Mia. Mia goes back to the lead late and makes Natalie’s braid dance as her head gets swiveled. Bell sounds. Natalie looking woozy. Not a mark on Mia Kang who wins the round in a shutout.

R2: Foxfire trainer Virginia Madsen speaking sternly to her fighter. Not hard to guess what she’s saying: get in close and put on the pressure. Bell rings and Natalie comes charging at Mia like an express train. Mia trying to punch Natalie back, but the young blonde has too much momentum and suddenly Natalie is up close and punching hard. Mia pressed hard, but she fights back even though she looks awkward doing so. Natalie getting her head banged up, but she’s getting her leather into Mia’s chin. Mia trying to push Natalie back, but Nat is not budging. Intense fighting in close and Natalie gets solid hooks into Mia’s abs. Mia getting tipped forward and pushed back, but she’s making this a fighting retreat. Natalie back to the chin to stun Mia as the round in ending and it helps to take the stanza by a close margin.

R3: Natalie seeking to get back in close once again, but Mia better prepared this time. She strikes Natalie hard to the face and chin. Natalie knocked back on her heels, but regroups and comes back at Natalie. Mia using that superior reach to chip away at the smaller woman and disrupt her rushes. Natalie getting lumped up. She makes lunges to get some shots into Mia’s breasts and ribcage, but gets the sides of her head banged each time. Natalie circling with Mia late in round, trying to find an opening, but Mia not taking too many of these and making Natalie pay with counters each time. Round ends and Mia Kang has scored a wide win. Natalie looking disheartened as she trudges back to her corner.

R4: Natalie seen getting a pep talk from Virginia Madsen and does seem to look more hopeful as the bell sounds. However Mia has decided to go on the attack this round. She is the one coming at a rather surprised looking Natalie and gets driven back by a barrage of head shots. Natalie backing up quickly and deploying the jab. Mia moving to one side and coming in again. Natalie smacked to the chin and she retreats some more. Mia looking pleased that she’s got the kid on the run, keeps Natalie under pressure, but more from a distance this time. However Natalie getting better at evading these long distance shots and Mia decides to move back in close. However Natalie suddenly comes in, ducking under Mia’s long arms and bringing a crashing right uppercut into Mia’s chin. Mia suddenly freezes and Natalie brings two follow-up uppercuts into Mia’s. MIA STUMBLES FORWARD AND SPRAWLS ON HER FACE! Natalie lets out a war whoop and hurries to the neutral corner. Referee moves in as Mia pushes herself to all fours and kneels there shaking her head. She then steadies herself and slowly rises beating the count at “EIGHT!”. Action resumes with Mia covering up and Natalie circling around her punching away, but not doing additional damage. Rounds ends with Natalie smiling happily, thanks to that knockdown she has been able to steal what had seemed to be a Mia Kang round.

R5: Mia looking sluggish off her stool and Natalie wastes little time in rushing in to she what more damage she can do. Too late the young fighter discovers she’s been lured into a trap. Mia comes out of her “stupor” and clocks Natalie with a sweeping right to the jaw! Natalie spins off to one side and suddenly her knees give way. NATALIE FALLS TO HER KNEES AND FALLS ONTO HER SIDE! Mia happily goes to the neutral corner. Natalie struggling to get up as the referee counts relentlessly. Natalie sucks it up and makes it all the way up just as the official reaches “NINE!” Natalie checked over by referee. Natalie loudly declaring she can go on and punches her gloves together in defiance, Mia comes back in, but Natalie able to move in closer and suddenly they are battling it out with body shots to in close. Mia pressed very close and can’t seem to get her arms moving as effectively as Natalie who is going all out against Mia’s breasts. Mia falling back, dropping her gloves to cover her aching chest, but then Natalie suddenly goes to Mia’s chin with a flurry of uppercuts. Mia’s head bobbing wildly and Natalie finishes with an overhand right that smashes Mia between the eyes. Mia stands there frozen for a split second then—TIMBER! MIA KANG GOES THUNDERING DOWN ON HER BACK! Mia lands hard as her arms and legs sprawl out. Natalie panting hard, heads for the neutral corner and looks hopefully as referee counts. Mia trying to rise, but she can’t seem to get her body to obey. She collapses back with a groan as the referee is going:

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

THE WINNER NATALIE ALYN LIND DEFEATS MIA KANG KO5!

After: “I got admit it, this was even tougher than a thought it would be,” Natalie admits as she speaks to the press in the ring, a towel around her neck. “I thought for sure I had her finish in R4 , but she came back and put me down in the next round. I’m going to have a real lump from that shot to my jaw, but I got up determined she wasn’t going to beat. I knew if I could just get in close enough I would find an opening and I did. It was relief to hear her counted out. I really feel like I earned this one!”

As for Mia Kang, she is revived and helped to the Fighting Academy corner. She speaks briefly with the press: “I am really disappointed in myself. I thought I had her, but she got up and took me out. I am disappointed, yes, but I am not giving up. I know I have what it takes to win and I will turn things around as soon as I can!”

Given the size difference, Natalie Alyn Lind’s win is something of an upset, but she did have the better record coming in. She did prove she could beat a taller opponent, but Mia Kang did put her on the canvas. She might not be able to recover so well the next bigger opponent she faces. Still, it’s a win and the progress of Foxfire’s bantamweight prospect continues. Meanwhile, its back to the gym for Mia Kang and the hope that the next fight will go her way.
