Emily DiDonato vs. Sophie Turner
Sophie: 22 years old, 5’9”, 6-5 since 2015
Emily: 27 years old, 5’10”, 1-3 since 2017
“I’m glad that Emily got her first win, but now that she’s signed, she is really in the big leagues now, and it’s my job to give her a solid welcome fight, ” Sophie Turner says in her pre-fight interview. “I will say, though, she’s 1-3, and her one win against Hannah Davis, who is basically a JMDD specialist and I can tell you right now DiDonato can’t beat Davis in a JMDD match.”
“I’m really excited to finally be a part of a stable, especially after over a year without a fight,” Emily tells her interviewers. “Getting my first win was exciting, and I’m looking to getting my second tonight against Sophie. Turner’s young and has a bright career ahead of her, but tonight is my night.”
Turner comes to the ring wearing a black bikini with the FOXFIRE logo on it, with matching gloves and her red hair tied up in a braid. DiDonato wearing a red bikini with blue gloves, her hair also in a braid down her back. The fighters get their instructions and get into their corners. DING!
R1: Turner wastes no time going after her taller opponent, bounding across the ring and firing a jab that barely gets DiDonato in the right ribs as she tries to dodge. The model backs off and the two women start circling slowly with guards up, each sizing up her opponent. Sophie launches another jab, but Emily takes it in her gloves before firing back a zinger that connects with the redhead’s jaw. The brunette model wastes no time in following up with punches to the redhead’s stomach and chest as the actress retreats. Turner takes a few more punches before she catches the somewhat inexperienced DiDonato with a quick jab to the midsection, causing her to back off, and following up with a few more solid shots before DiDonato gets away. The two circle for the final thirty seconds of the round, trading blows with Emily getting the slightly better end of the trades. With the bell, both fighters return to their corners, and Emily takes the close round.
R2: Both fighters quickly on their feet, and Emily lunges in and catches Sophie in the belly, but Turner connects with an absolutely haymaker right to DiDonato’s jaw in return! Turner closes the distance and gets pounds DiDonato’s chest and ribs before the model clinches, but Turner still has a free hand, and still is able to send a few more shots to the model’s ribs. Sophie pushes off of Emily and sends an uppercut that barely grazes Emily’s chin, giving the model time to fire a jab that gets Turner right in the lips, temporarily breaking the action before she cinches again and she and Turner trade a flurry of punches to the bell. Turner takes the round, wide.
R3: While the second round saw both fighters bounding out of their corners, Emily moving out a little bit more slowly than Sophie. Turner tries to start up-tempo by firing right for Emily’s head, but DiDonato blocks it before sending a return punch back to Turner which Sophie blocks. But the redhead didn’t see the model’s follow-up which catches her flush in the chest, stunning the actress! The brunette not wasting any time connecting with Turner’s body, returning the favor from the previous round. Sophie manages to clinch and the ref has to step in, and Emily spends the small remainder of the round trying to land huge punches on Turner as the redhead tried to stay distant, getting in a good shot with five seconds left before the bell. DiDonato wins the round, wide.
R4: While it was Sophie jumping out of her corner in the third, it’s Emily in the fourth. Emily leaps in to close the distance with Sophie, but Turner catches Emily in the mouth with a precise jab, halting the model in her tracks. DiDonato swings wildly with her right but Sophie dodges and fires a second shot right into Emily’s exposed stomach, driving the wind out of the brunette’s lungs. Emily keeps her guard up, giving up her body as Sophie pounds her into the ropes before the model clinches, eventually forcing the ref to break it. Emily catches Turner off guard with a pair of jabs to the chest once the ref steps back, but Sophie jabs Emily to the mouth again, and Emily stumbles backwards as the bell rings. Turner wins the round, wide, and each woman has won two rounds in the fight so far.
R5: The brutal back-and-forth match has final taken its toll on the starting tempo of the round, as neither fighter jumps out of her corner launching an all-out assault. It’s a calculated advance from both Turner and DiDonato, and neither woman wants to make a mistake and get punished. The ref tells the two to get on with it, and Emily strikes Sophie is the chest and hits a quick jab before backing off. Neither punch seemed to phase the redheaded actress, as she closes the distance with the model, and the two exchange a pair of blows before both women back off of their opponent. With a minute left in the round, Emily turns up the aggression and starts landing two punches for every one that Turner lands, but it seems like the sting from Emily’s punches are gone. After the bell, the two fighters go to their corners, and DiDonato takes the round, close.
R6: Both fighters heard it from the trainers in their corners, and they both come out quickly in a departure from the previous round. Emily lands a jab right on Sophie lips, causing the actress to take a step back, and the model grins at her handiwork. But Turner throws a right hook that catches DiDonato right in the jaw, staggering the model! Emily in retreat, but Sophie’s pursuing her, and sends an uppercut that barely grazes Emily’s chin, but still staggers her further. DiDonato brings her guard up, and Turner pounds the brunette’s belly, getting the model to groan as she clinches. Sophie is able to throw a few more punches before the ref gets involved and breaks it up. Emily far worse from the wear after the round so far, and spends the rest of it trying to do damage control, but eating another pair of brutal punches from Turner. At the end of the round, Sophie wins by shutout.
R7: Somehow, Emily isn’t unreasonably slow out of her corner, but she tries to keep her distance, knowing that Turner had a good chance to knock her out the previous round. Sophie throws the opening punches, and pushes DiDonato into the ropes, hoping to end the round early by pounding her body. Emily manages to push off, and lands a punch when Turner tries to advance, keeping her at bay. It’s DiDonato’s turn to go on the offensive, and she throws a pair of jabs, gradually corralling Turner around the ring with the latter’s guard up, dictating the flow of the fight into the third minute. Sophie drops her guard briefly after a shot to the gut, and Emily fires an uppercut that hits Turner squarely in the chin and TURNER GOES DOWN! Emily finds her way to a neutral corner as the referee starts his count. Turner tries to get up to her knees, but keels over at 7 and stays down. Your winner by KO7, Emily DiDonato!
After:
Emily takes a moment to soak in the cheer of the crowd, savoring her first win with a stable. After she gets her gloves off and Turner comes to, she goes over to her opponent and the two embrace, briefly, before the two part.
“Well, she beat me. She took a beating, but she beat me,” Sophie remarks afterwards.
“I started out in the FCBA on the wrong foot, but I’m here to stay, and it feels great because now nobody can say my fight against Davis was a fluke. Sophie really fought hard tonight, but I at least am thankful that I won.”
After a back and forth match from two of the FCBA’s youngest fighters with plenty of time left in their careers, one can only imagine what lays in store for the two in the future, and if they will ever meet again in the ring. |
