Intro:
The main event tonight of this heroine themed card sees Cobie Smulders and Erica Durance do battle in the United Center in Chicago.

Cobie is 36 years old; she stands 5'8 and holds a record of 6 wins, 5 by knockout, 21 defeats and 1 draw.

Erica is 40 years old; she also stands 5'8 and holds a record of 42 wins, 24 by knockout, 34 defeats and 1 draw, she is a former 3 time FCBA lightweight champion.

The fighters were both sat side by side on a couch on the set of the FCBA network, Lucy Liu interviewing them as all seems friendly amongst the women.

Cobie was asked to speak first on her view on Erica; she smiles as she replies "Erica is a legend, I have had to watch her from down in the rankings, which I won't lie has been hard since I want to be the best, but I respect her a lot"

When Erica is asked about Cobie, she answers "Cobie I know can pack a punch, but I also know that she has had a lot of trouble in the ring, so I am not too worried"

Cobie doesn't look too pleased by that, telling Erica "last I checked; you were hardly running wild lately" with Erica just smirking at her.

"That's why I was happy to fight you" replies Erica as tension starts to fill the air, their eyes are locked as Lucy tries to defuse the situation.

Cobie stands up though with Erica following suit quickly, nose to nose they go; with threats being exchanged on what is going to happen once they get in the ring and the bell rings.

Security steps in to pry them apart and lead them off the set, Lucy looking relieved she didn't have to try and break apart as she watches them go.

Fight night; Cobie is first out with her coach following her down the aisle, she looks fully focused as she stares straight at the ring.

She is wearing a black sports bra, black trunks with a white "Shield" badge, black shoes and white gloves, her hair is braided.

Stepping into the ring; Cobie gives the fans a quick wave, but heads over to her corner and begins to warm up so she is fully ready for the hard task ahead.

Now Erica comes from the back to the aisle; she bangs her gloves together as she marches down to the ring, her eyes locked onto the ring.

Her attire is a blue sports bra, red trunks with gold trim, blue gloves and red shoes, while her hair is up in a fighting ponytail.

Climbing into the ring; Erica poses at the center of the ring with her arms in the air to a loud cheer from her fans, before she gets to her corner and warms up with her eyes locked onto her opponents.

The referee brings the fighters to the ring center, they do as told and are keeping themselves limber by shaking their arms and legs, while their eyes burn holes through their opponent.

When they are told to touch gloves; they bump them together and quickly return to their corners, ready for 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding" both women start off circling and testing the others defences out with stiff jabs, their eyes are locked in an intense stare as they move.
It's Cobie who looks to push the action first; dipping under a straight and coming inside to slam a left to the ribs, followed by a right up top.
Erica has to step back, fighting off the back foot as Cobie is the one on the attack, both landing punches to the others face as they work away.
After missing a left cross; Cobie finds herself getting caught with a right across her cheek to push her back, with momentum switching over to the older fighters hands.
Each time Cobie tries to get back control; she is caught by straight punches that knocks her head back and force her back behind her guard.
With Erica finishing the round strong by keeping Cobie aimed towards the ropes, while she owns the ring center with her punches switching up to keep Cobie guessing where the hits are coming from next.
The bell rings and Erica marches back to her corner, her coach bumping fists with her as they know she had a good first round, but need to build on it.
Round 2:
Back out the fighters; they start off in more close range as they look to knock the other backwards, heads down as they work the others body.
Erica steps back and lands two punches to the top of her opponents head, then begins to get control of the action by keep striking the face of Cobie.
But Cobie slips under a right; landing a hard right into the gut of Erica, she starts drilling punches into the body of the older fighter to back her up.
Erica looks to retreat back, she gets caught though with an overhand right that sends her onto the ropes nearby, with Cobie forcing her to cover up as she steps in to land a flurry aimed at the head of Durance.
The Avengers star goes back to the body, Erica groaning out with each punch, till she starts fighting back with punches aimed at the head of Smulders.
The crowd getting a grandstand finish to the round, with both exchanging stiff shots as they slug it out, Cobie looks to be winning the exchange though due to Erica having the ropes to her back.
With a right cutting across the lips of Durance puts her back her guard, the round ends with Cobie winning this round.
She smiles as she stares at Erica; who just shakes her head as she jogs to her corner, both their coaches giving them advice on how to get control of the fight.
Round 3:
Cobie looks to build off the last round; bouncing on her toes as she moves around Erica, slipping under punches to move inside to work.
Nearly bumping her head into the chin of Erica as she works the body, landing several to the ribs to make Erica groan out.
Till Erica nudges Cobie back; then lands a left cross followed by a straight that knocks the younger fighters head back.
The action goes back and forth, Erica looks the better fighter on the outside, while Cobie is the better fighter it seems when she gets in close.
Cobie dipping under a right cross, comes up with an uppercut and a left cross that knocks Durance onto her heels.
With the dying seconds seeing Erica pressed into a corner, where she struggles to fight out of it and ends up with her bottom lip bleeding from a left cross.
The round ends with Cobie looking confident as she heads to her corner, smiling as she sits on her stool and enjoys the cool sponge washing her down.
Across the ring sees Erica looking upset with herself, telling her coach "I need to get my ass in gear! I am sick of this!" With her coach telling her to forget that and focus on turning this around.
Round 4:
Cobie tries to start off quickly again; but as she dips down to get inside the reach of Erica, she is met by punches drilling into the top of her head as Erica starts boxing on the move more.
When Cobie does manage to move inside, she gets in several shots under the ribs of her opponent, till she gets nudged back.
Erica though is starting to get control of the action, dancing back and drilling her jab into the top of Smulder's head to keep her back.
Cobie tries to slip in close; but Erica lands a left across the temple of Cobie to rattle her backwards, Cobie needing to cover up as she is under fire from Durance.
The fans of Erica coming to life as they watch her herd Cobie back to the ropes, both women let their hands go as Cobie tries to get her way off them.
It's Erica winning the exchange now; she doesn't waste this chance to lay the hurt on her opponent as she lands a jab onto the nose of Cobie, followed by two hooks that turn her head side to side.
Cobie is stuck behind her guard as seconds tick away in the round, Erica moving in close to hammer the body of Smulders, till she is clinched up.
The round ends with the referee breaking them apart, Erica now smirking as she has finally got a foothold in this fight.
Cobie looks upset as she heads to her corner, rubbing her cheeks as she sits on her stool with her coach telling her "that's just one bad round, you are the better fighter!"
Round 5:
Erica looks back to her best as she stings the face of Cobie with her jab, keeping on the move as Cobie looks to be getting annoyed.
Cobie dips down and is met with a right across the top of her head, THEN AS COBIE MOVES BACK, ERICA SMACKS A LEFT HOOK ACROSS HER OPPONENTS CHIN AND AN UPPERCUT THAT PUTS COBIE ON HER BACK!
Erica pounding her chest with her right as she heads to a neutral corner, 1...2...3...4 Cobie spits her gumshield out as she blinks, 5...6...7 she turns to her front but falls flat down, 8...9...10 and ends up being counted out!

Winner Erica Durance KO Round 5

After:
Erica gets a win back finally, she shows how important it is as she yells "yes!" And raises her arms into the air as her fans chant her name.

But as she sees Cobie being helped up by her coach; Erica jogs over to her and surprises people by helping Cobie stand.

They apologize about the way they acted before the fight, with both laughing as they admit they got heated and really do respect each other.

After embracing; both go to their corners to be cleaned up, Erica wincing as her bottom lip is being fixed up, while Cobie is giving a moment to waken up fully.

Soon the fighters are brought to the ring center, Erica gets her hand raised by the referee with Cobie applauding her in a great sign of respect.

Both shake hands and wish each other luck in their future fights, with Cobie leaving the ring so Erica can have her time alone to take the cheers from the crowd.

Erica probably with the biggest smile she has had in the ring in a long time, she blows kisses to the crowd as she heads around the ring in a lap of honour.

Before she leaves the ring with her coach behind her, both talking about future plans, any talk of retirement looks to be off the table for now.
