Jennifer Lawrence (Chimera) vs Hilary Rhoda (Girls Friday) @ Welter. Result: Lookout/Fight: simgrrl
J-Law: (28 yo, 5'8", 132#, 27-18-1) vs Rhoda: (31 yo, 5'11", 135#, 19-6-0)

Before: Hilary Rhoda was considered the "hottest" hot girl in the FCBA when she started her FCBA career with eight (8) straight wins. Then, after losing her first fight to Welter champion Hannah Ferguson in April 2017, Hil ran off another five straight wins - including ripping the Welterweight title belt from the limp, unconscious hand of new Champ, Kate Upton in August that same year.
Rhoda defended her title once (Katrina Law) before dropping it back into the eager hands of the same Hannah Ferguson who had it in April. Since that heart-breaking loss, Rhoda faltered, winning six and losing four. Some think it's her disappointment at losing her newly-won title to a woman she's clearly had trouble with (Ferguson) while others point to two fights she had that December with Cassidy Freeman and Amanda Righetti; back-to-back just four weeks apart.
Righetti stopped Hilary late in her fight, and less than a month after Righetti, Hilary went out to face Briget Regan. Rhoda won that tough fight, but such a heavy workload, against top competition, in a very short time, caught up to her and Hilary dropped her next two fights; to lightweight Katy Perry and the next to Bo Krsmanovic - the woman Rhoda beat in her first FCBA fight. Relatively easy victories over the aged Christina Hendricks and former bantam Missy Peregrym, followed but then Kate Upton reared up to swat Rhoda aside like an annoying gnat.
After a relaxing evening on the beach with mild mannered Michelle Ryan, Rhoda was back in welter action against big Sophie Howard from England. While Howard didn't have a great record, all her wins came via the KO route and she's well-respected in Europe for her punching power. Rhoda felt "frozen out" following her second loss to Kate Upton - and while Upton denies having "anything to do with cutting Rhoda out of the title picture" Kate was smiling when she said it. Everyone in the FCBA knows, or has heard rumors, of a "Blonde Cabal" aiming to keep the light and welter titles as a blonde monopoly.
Tonight, again according to rumor central, the "blond behind the blondes" (she whose name must not be spoken aloud) made arrangements for Jennifer "J-Law" Lawrence to act as doorkeeper for her sister blondes and block Rhoda's attempts to regain her former relevance in the ranks of the welterweights.
Tess Valmore at ringside for this fight, points out that Lawrence is the same height, and about the same weight as Brooklyn Decker who easily handled Rhoda's size advantage in their recent fight. Whether that experience will help Hilary against Lawrence is anybody's guess, but few have forgotten the long history Decker has with Jen's blonde mentor, Charlize Theron!
Those with long memories recall (fans fondly, FCBA officials with fear and trembling) the debacle in February 2011 when Decker and Theron engaged in a terrific fight - won by Theron. After the fight, now recalled as "The February Massacre" because it was followed by THE greatest brawl in the history of the FCBA... and the history of the FCBA is littered with great postfight brawls!
Compared to the recent 'scuffle' involving Chimera, et. al. (which only had about 30 participants) and in some circles is being fondly called, "The First Battle of Valmore"... 2011's "February Massacre" had 50+ participants involved from three or more stables (accounts vary on the exact number). The brawl went on for what must have seemed to the losers like hours. And unlike "l'affaire Valmore" more than one ended up "déshabillé." At one point, almost one-fourth of all the bantams in the FCBA (per reports) queued up waiting to "put puppy" to Charlize Theron and other members of the (now defunct) stable called KimZ KruZherZ - which was Theron's stable in those days.
Old timers seeing Brooklyn Decker in the ring with Rhoda and Theron's protégé Lawrence, get nervous twitches. A month ago, after Rhoda's fight with Sophie Howard, Decker also put in an appearance. So forgive some old timers who see Brooklyn Decker and Lawrence together may be having flashbacks to a month ago when, after Rhoda's fight with Howard, Decker also showed up...

... clearly wanting to hear from her future opponent. Hilary was so busy celebrating her victory over Howard, she didn't even notice until she looked up and saw Brooklyn approaching from the back. Before her trainer, Melanie Sykes, could stop her, Hilary jumped down from the ring and went to confront Brooklyn face to face. Cameras surrounded them as they were nose-to-nose; each boasting about how it would go when they fought on the next "Fight Night Live" card. Insults were thrown, most hitting their intended target, and things looked like they were getting heated when Melanie managed to get between them.
That's when Decker (she said later) "saw an opportunity to have a little harmless fun." She shoved Melanie back into Hilary and both of them went strawling on the floor.
"That's a preview of our fight, bytch!" Decker screamed with a proud grin as she turns and headed back to the locker rooms. Clearly, she was proud thinking she had scored some "style points" before she had to have an actual fight with Rhoda.
After getting untangled from her coach, Hilary was obviously furious as she sat up, her eyes burning and her face flushed bright red as she stared at Brooklyn Decker's rear end as she strutted away with what she had to have considered some kind of a victory.

Back to the present...
Jen Lawrence first out of the locker room, the thick-bodied blond in a red full coverage bikini that sets off her hair, which seems to have been lightened for this fight to an almost Theron-esque Golden Blond. Jen's feet are bare, another trademark of her mentor Theron, and her red gloves match her bikini. Blond Jen is flanked by Chimera's head trainer, blond Jeri Ryan and her personal trainer, blond Ronda Rousey.
Next comes Hilary Rhoda, a tall, muscular, brunette who's glaring in Decker's direction, but makes no obvious gestures to her. Hilary's decked out in a black sports bra with her annoying "queen slayer" badge on the left cup; a black boycut bottom, black hi-top shoes and black gloves. Her dark hair is pulled back in a tight battle braid. She's walking between Girls Friday's advisor Melanie Sykes and head trainer Taryn Terrell.
Decker - sitting ringside between Chimera and the Lioness Club, waves to Theron who's sitting with Stephanie McMahon and holding an ice pack to her left eye, a holdover of her slam-bang bout with Yvonne Strahovski earlier tonight! Decker pointedly snubs Rhoda's entrance, knowing the easiest way to get her attention is by ignoring her altogether!

During R1: Jen off her stool on the attack right from the bell. J-Law targeting Hilary's mid-section, looking to put miles on that chassis before Rhoda's height and experience can come into play. Jen looks like she's chopping wood as she turns her body into short left hooks or rights in under Hilary's left jab. Jen's up-tempo attack taking Rhoda by surprise and the slow-starting brunette's a step behind most of the round; unable to time Lawrence's attacks and her counters come a beat slow, just missing several openings Jen gives her in a wild sequence mid-round when Lawrence is landing two or three punches for every one of Hilary's... and Jen's are all HARD body shots while Rhoda's are more glancing blows that Jen doesn't appear to even notice in her eagerness to throw more leather than Hilary. Lawrence takes the first round on points (wide) with a heavy-handed body attack.
R2: Hilary Rhoda settling down in the second, getting into a rhythm early behind a long left which she uses to hold Lawrence at bay better than in the first. Jen still has her moments, not going away from her body-centric attack, but Rhoda's finding her counters are more effective this round. Good trading by both early - and again late - but the middle of the round Hilary showed her offensive talent at its best as she had a solid twenty-five or thirty seconds of non-stop offense with Lawrence unable to answer effectively. Otherwise, the round was a toss-up - but that meant Rhoda got the points (close) in a round with plenty of crowd-pleasing action.
R3: More of the same. Two determined women going head-to-head in 180 seconds of non-stop slugging. Both had moments, but neither could impose her will on the other. As in the prior round, Jen Lawrence started and finished fast, but Hilary Rhoda dominated the middle minute. Neither hurt, but both felt the others powershots and each went back to her stool at the end of the round achy. Fans showed their appreciation for a second exciting round of competitive action, giving both women a standing ovation. Each corner grabbing their girl to give them adjustments, but the fans would have been just as happy to see another round like the last two. Rhoda again took the points, again close.
R4: During the break, Chimera's corner visited by Jen's blond mentor, Charlize Theron, who gives a note to Ryan; who hands it to Rousey who reads it to Lawrence. Jen smiles, nods, then stands for the bell. Jen's up-tempo attacking style confuses Hilary from the opening minute; pumping her left in Hilary's face far more often and more aggressively than earlier. Jen's combining her jab with right uppercuts - where before she'd been using overhand rights - and her right is scoring big points for her, rocking Hilary several times and, once, forcing the big brunette to clinch briefly when she was hurt. Rhoda unable to get untracked this round and takes a sound beating from the blonde who returns to her corner after the bell to a warm greeting from her fellow blondes as Lawrence wins the round in a shutout!
R5: Cue brunette comeback! Rhoda making adjustments, comes out quickly hoping to retake the initiative from Lawrence and in the early minutes it's working for her. Hilary slipping inside Jen's jab, taking it to the younger blondes thick body with both hands. This time, it's Lawrence who's forced to clinche as Rhoda's brunette body smashing attack piles on the hurt. It's not until late that Jen makes some adjustment of her own, and lands a few hard right hands that are starting to close the gap at the bell, But the judges like Rhoda's sustained early dominance and she takes the points, but it's close!
R6: Once again, Hilary Rhoda gets off to a fast start, landing a left hook in the opening exchange that hurts J-Law! Rhoda, like any good brunette bully, piling on with both hands, smacking the young blonde around the ring with a sustained body attack that doesn't give Jen Lawrence time to set her feet and fight; just keeps driving her back until Lawrence's butt is stuffed in the ropes right above the Girls Friday corner; glutes jiggling with every impact. Girls Friday whoop and hollar as their girl gets busy, putting a bright red glow on Lawrence's tummy with shots that have the blonde doubling over in pain. A clubbing right cross to the side of the head drops Lawrence to her knees, then she rocks back against the middle rope as the referee intervenes to send Hilary Rhoda to the far corner. The count reaches six before Lawrence can get to her feet, but she nods she's alright and holds her gloves up for the ref.
When the fight resumes, Lawrence manages to fight her way off the ropes when Rhoda gets a little overeager to finish and Lawrence comes back with two uppercuts that take Rhoda flush and buckle her knees. The closing seconds of the sixth round are a complete reversal of the opening two minutes with Lawrence chasing the retreating Rhoda who shows good defense fighting backing up. Lawrence piling on with a lot of leather, chasing Rhoda to the ropes but without landing any damaging punches. Jen throwing with both hands at the bell when the referee jumps in to pull her away, but with Rhoda still upright and clear-eyed. Rhoda's knockdown plenty enough to win her the round (wide).
R7: This time it's Brooklyn Decker popping into the Chimera corner for a word with Lawrence, but Jen doesn't want to listen and shooes her away with an 'imperious blond' flick of the wrist. Decker nevertheless grinning as she struts back to her seat, stopping in front of Charlize Theron and bending over as if checking the strap of her shoe, but really just showing Theron her ass!
(Catty blondes are always more fun!)
Lawrence up before the bell, slapping her gloves together, looking eager to get back to work after surviving the knockdown and fighting back hard in the previous round. Sure enough, Rhoda is looking to repeat her knockdown before Lawrence is fully recovered and both women are swinging from the heels in their first exchange. Lawrence with a big right in that exchange and Rhoda's hurt! Rhoda's knees buckle and she's clearly been hurt by the sturdy blonde! Lawrence going all in!
J-Law battering the brunette clear across the ring, traps her in the Girls Friday corner and tee's off to the body, then bringing that deadly uppercut out to hammer Hilary once more on the chin! Rhoda jacked up against the turnbuckle, hands dropping just as Lawrence leans into a left hook to the jaw that crumples Rhoda who drops in a heap to her knees, then topples forward and crashes to the canvas facefirst!
The referee starts to count but stops at six when Rhoda hasn't moved, then waves it off as Brooklyn Decker came barging into the ring. The referee took Jen's left wrist and as he was about to raise her hand, Decker grabbed Jen's right arm and raised Lawrence's hand before the referee could raise her left. Jen tried to pull away, but Decker tightened her grip and pulled Jen against her as they stood over Rhoda's limp body while the photographers took their picture! Jennifer Lawrence wins a KO7!

After: Jen angrily jerked her hand away from Brooklyn, gave her a deadly glare, then turned around and walked quickly back to the Chimera corner where she was greeted as a heroine by her blond handlers. "Get these damn gloves off, and hurry!" Jen told Jeri, shoving her hands into Ryan's heaving bosom. While Jeri struggled to unwrap the tape from her gloves, Girls Friday's trainer Terrell is bringing Rhoda around. As soon as Jen's hands are ungloved, she spins and walks hurriedly over to Hileary Rhoda and kneels beside Terrell who glares at her. But before Taryn can say something to Lawrence about her disgraceful show with Decker, Jen leans over and offers Hilary a hand up.
"I'm sorry about that... with Decker," Jen tells Rhoda as she pulls her to her feet and supports her with an arm around her waist as she steers her to her stool in the Girls Friday corner. "You gave me a hell of a fight and didn't deserve that kind of crap...especially from HER!"
As Sykes and Terrell are taking care of Hilary, Jeri Ryan comes over to check on her as well. Terrell, fed up with the sudden concern on Chimera's part about her fighter, whirls around and slams both of her open hands into Ryan's huge breasts, knocking Jeri on her ass.
"HEY!" Jen says, grabbing Taryn. "What's the matter with you?"
Terrell jabs her index finger in Jen's chest and tells her, "You and that bimbo Decker put on a fine show for your blonde friends. Don't come around pretending you weren't in on it. I've half a mind to knock you on your ass too!"
Jen bristled at that and said in a low voice, "If you want to try me, put on gloves and let's go!"
At that point, Brooklyn Decker had finished talking to the press in the ring and started over to twist the knife in Rhoda some more. But FCBA security had finally figured out Decker really shouldn't be in the ring and showed up to hustle her away.
"You'd better leave too..." Terrell told Lawrence. "...before I get those gloves on. And that goes for you too old woman," she added, jabbing Jeri in her bosom with her index finger just as Jeri had gotten back to her feet. "You aren't too old for me to kick your ass too," Taryn said smugly. "Just like your Lohan."
"I'd like to see you try," Ryan said. "I'm tougher than Lohan and I've got gloves too... if you really think you can!" At that point, security grabbed Ryan and Lawrence and got them away from Terrell before another infamous brawl broke out... and apparently, just in time!

Later, at the postfight press conference, Jen congratulated Hilary later in front of the press room (after she'd escaped from Brooklyn by losing Decker in the milling ringside crowd). Jen made a point of telling the assembled media, "I didn't appreciate Decker horning in on my victory celebration! If she wants to pose over somebody's body, she should stretch them herself and not wait for me - or someone else - to do it for her. Next time, if there is a next time, she pulls a stunt like that with ME, it'll be her laying tits-up on the canvas, not some poor unfortunate who happened to be available!
"I put Rhoda away every bit as decisively as Decker did, but I'm younger and better looking than her, so why shouldn't I be the one to get the next shot at Upton's title. Decker can't handle Upton. She should step aside, bide her time and wait until Rhoda or Ferguson or someone else has the crown before she tries to make a run at it. After all, Decker isn't the 'only blonde' around who can fight!"

As if that weren't enough to get Decker's attention, Charlize Theron had just tweeted, "Saw a lot of cellulite in Brooklyn's saggy butt... maybe it IS time for her to let Jen have the next shot at Upton."
