Cassidy Freeman vs Maggie Geha
(Lioness Club of America vs FCBA Independent)
(25-17-1, 21 KO vs 0-1)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: It's like Cubs vs Red Sox in October... or more like Smallville vs Gotham for late night cable TV showdown? Welterweight breeds redheads like no other division and it's time for Maggie Geha's true coming out party tonight as she tries to put her FCBA debut loss behind her: "Rowdy Ronda? That's all covered in dust, folks! That wasn't a PR stunt by any means but it helped me to enter this league so I won't complain about it! I'm ready to rock & roll and let's see if Cass is as good as they say because I have my doubts! She was good like five years ago but that's ancient history."

LCA policy of tracking potential elite talent early in the run shouldn't come as a surprise. It has worked with Robyn Lawley before so Mr. V and his gang hope to double up on another middleweight tweener in Geha here tonight. Cassidy is a supreme boxer compared to Ronda Rousey according to several pundits which probably explains all the giggling and fooling around between the Chicago native and coach Claudia Schiffer literally minutes before the opening bell. That's a curious way to play mind games against a newcomer but then again, Cass was always strictly business so even Erin Andrews is unsure what that is all about down there in the Lioness corner.

Cassidy Freeman wears a red lace corset, black hotpants and red gloves. Dark carrot hair tied in a thick bun at the back of her head. Maggie Geha wears a white one-piece swimsuit and yellow gloves. Long red hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Cassidy refrains from making an early statement which paves the way for some Vermont magic as Maggie works the jabbing route to move the fellow redhead side-to-side but also lands a big hook on the jaw that must open some eyes down in the Lioness corner. However Cass laughs at that shot and keeps ducking away from more head-hunting shots as Geha becomes a little too passionate for her own good and gets picked off with a double overhand when her initial bursts gets covered off. Freeman moves onto the front (left) leg thereafter and dishes out a hooking series herself but that seems to be a mere warning action here from the former champion with Maggie unwilling to yield the real estate and soaking up the drive like a true sport.

Round 2:
More of the same in the second, the older redhead lets the Vermont-based girl to work her jabbing drill but when the big shot is nowhere to be found, she moves into a counter-punching response that sends Geha into quick circles. This mobility display isn't good enough to avoid majority of Freeman's attacks so the high guard comes to the rescue but Erin Andrews reckons Cassidy is close into breaking through with her trademark sling and Geha's lack of elite footwork might yet come back to haunt her. She dekes to the side fast enough to escape the rush but then again, Freeman hasn't shifted into a higher gear yet and settles into back & forth single series with the younger redhead firmly on the back foot in the final minute.

Round 3:
More urgency from Geha who comes out swinging and finds that BIG punch through a rare hole in Freeman's defense. She connects with the jaw and rattles the ex-champ who goes fish-tailing while the audience gasps for air almost instantly. Here comes Mags, she riffles more head shots to pound the stunned foe back to the ropes and it's hardly a tactical display from the older redhead who struggles to respond with the Gotham starlet gets carried away almost too much in wake of such a great chance to score an upset. She keeps it strictly upstairs but bounces off the forearms too often to find another punishing strike and Freeman battles through adversity when a seemingly wayward hook nails the Vermont actress on the eye and halts her charge. Still Geha almost shoves Freeman through the ropes as she tries to deliver that all important knockdown but she gets clinched to drain her powers and barks in anger when the bell rescues the Lioness redhead from more misery.

Round 4:
Coach Schiffer doesn't need to say a word during the break since Cassidy's on the case straight from the bell in the fourth with Maggie still piling more pressure upstairs. It's one-dimensional attack here but one can pardon the rookie at this point of her career. She apparently belives she can knock Freeman's head off proper alas she gets swamped in a counter-punching barrage and the Smallville redhead cashes in with several hits on the mouth that reel Geha into mid-distance. The Vermont babe is two inches taller than her rival but it makes no difference once Cassidy begins to year into the high guard and track Maggie down into the corner. No more hand-brake boxing from the Lioness and she scythes Geha with a big combo late on that drops the younger redhead into spasms come the final few seconds. Cass riffles one shot on the eye that connects right at the bell and it's staredown time next with Maggie not looking so confident anymore.

Round 5:
Maggie's a little naive to push for another offensive tangle but gets quickly gut-checked as Cassidy fakes the head-hunting approach before bursting into her foe's midsection instead. Ugh! Geha gets stuffed big time and soaks up more juice with Freeman tearing harpoons into the exposed body. She shoves the aching Vermont woman into the ropes where it's all up-tempo action that Geha simply cannot embrace! Her head swivels back & forth as she encounters the elite striking with Cass moving upstairs to lock her down for good. She stumbles to the right with a loud ache and gets nailed on the lips that show severe swelling already, there's next to nothing coming back from her and Freeman pulls the plug when she connects with a piercing hook on the ear next... DOWN GOES GEHA!!! The proud Gotham starlet ends up on her knees and bends her head against the canvas as she tries to soak up the knockdown daze. She gets up at seven but looks badly affected here and offers no resistance when Cassidy splits her mitts again to send the curled ponytail for a bumpy ride. Ugh! Geha gets pummelled into a standstill and drops woozy against the turnbuckle shortly afterwards which forces the ref to STEP IN AND WAVE THIS ONE OFF!!! TKO5 Cassidy Freeman!!!

AFTER: Maggie aches all her effort out here as she slumps against the referee's waist and while she looked really solid in the early running, once Cassidy unleashed that elite power, it was all over fast! The Vermont-based actress offers a curious upside but is definitely very raw at this stage of her career and she hardly bothered to punish the Lioness veteran to the body which is simply bad tactics. However she will learn from this experience according to Erin Andrews and it's way too early to scratch this redhead from future contender status.

Meanwhile Freeman keeps it strictly business after the fight even though she refuses to offer the vanquished opponent a hug or a friendly word of advice. Well, Maggie will have to learn her trade without the subtitles! BLONDE! Magazine throws a curveball at the Chicago native asking her about the recent Brooklyn Decker/Kate Upton dust-up in the media but Cassidy is truly above this Sports Illustrated feud and leaves the reporter speechless following a staredown even some of her boxing peers couldn't withstand without blinking. Is it all about blonde hair and big boobs in the welterweight these days? Show these redheads some respect too!

Official result: Cassidy Freeman def. Maggie Geha TKO5.
