AMANDA RIGHETTI (35 y/o, 5 ft 8, W: 85, L: 28) vs TAYLOR HILL (22 y/o, 5 ft 10 ½, W: 7, L: 1) (Results: Lookout!, Words: Bonzo)
Before: 22-year-old Taylor Hill’s a new member of the Sceej stable, and she’s been poised to become the latest “it girl” in a division shaped by more and more supermodels in the last couple of years. Classically and hypnotically pretty, leanly toned, a healthy dose of confidence…she’s bringing the necessary ingredients to the table for sure. She meets a welter division in flux: Upton’s back as a firm champion, Decker’s pounding her way to the top at the expense of Ferguson and Rhoda, a McKinney title shot – opportunities galore for a hungry, strong brunette youngster. Taylor’s most significant victories have come against “Peppermint” Jennifer Garner, past her prime yet fitter than she’s been in more than one and a half decades, then Michelle Ryan, and most notably on the beach against Charlize Theron in August – is there a veteran-busting pattern emerging there? Taylor elaborates on that: “I’ve got serious plans in this division – and my way leads firmly to the top. I want to beat the best fighters in the business, young or old. Righetti’s a legend, but legends get toppled. Cue, enter: Taylor Hill, folks.”
– Since losing a title shot to Atkinson early in the year, Righetti has quietly, determinedly made 2018 her best, most active year in a while. “We like what we’ve seen of Taylor – she’s showing lots of promise. This chick could become as dangerous as Tahnee. Of course, Taylor’s coming at me with a pretty big mouth, and don’t think that has gone unnoticed. You’ll see my appropriate response in the ring.”
R1: Taylor steps into Righetti with the determined attitude of a jabber, circling those long, wide, encompassing steps around her foe, letting them punches go, fast and strong-handed – Amanda at first trying to walk Hill into bod-to-bod confrontations, but she’s getting poked with plenty of authority. Many scenes: Righetti covering up behind her guard, stooping forward off it when Taylor’s surprisingly powerful lefts keep bashing her one-twos, one-twos, really making a visible impact on ‘Manda’s body…lots of activity, power spooking Righetti’s counter, activity zest. It’s that long-armed punch at work, combined with her leggy pivots…some nice and sweet body hooks tucking into Righetti’s tummy, boobs, before she’s circling out past redhead’s flanks. Taylor looking tall, elegant, in control – fight mostly taking place mid-ring at a pace set by Hill’s lefty at leisure, with many shots of Righetti forced to duck, roll out of those educated, SPICY jabs.
Down the stretch: Righetti inching closer, spending time in clinches as girls struggle, trying to wriggle hands apart, land punches across inside bodies – Hill enjoys being tall in these instances, thrusting that long neck across Righetti’s shoulders, Amanda keeping head below Tay’s chin, arms a-pawing around each other.
Sceej corner happy about the first: keeping Righetti passive’s never a bad way to start this kind of battle.
R2: Righetti forced into more risky territory against a very timed, very determined Taylor Hill jab – lots of blocking between welters as girls trade punches via opposing arms, trying to pull their punches over their foe’s respective arms as they lock-step, circle. Amanda upping the tempo, blasting sweeping right hands over Hill’s left jab, then turning flanks to track Taylor via stepped-in jabs to the mouth. Hill’s slowly out of her comfort zone, those long arms locked into guard, the jab all there to hold Rigs off – she’s sliding alongside ropes, buffeted by a vicious side-arm right into her left flank, turning torso-left into ropes, forming earmuff. Amanda allowed to really paste away in these instances: short left jabs, left straights knock at Tay’s guard/head, then she’s spacing out her punches to above Hill’s trunk-line, punish her tummy meat – drummin’, thuddin’ rhythms tiling Taylor’s proud golden, brown-ish waist. Hill’s eventually getting out of these positions all right, though, being pretty effective with her height advantage when she wants to clinch/hold.
Third minute passes: when girls separate, Righetti steps back into the gap via a short, vicious swipe above Taylor’s eyes, stunning her brunette, rocks her into ropes – round ends to sight of ‘Manda positioned atop Tay, her left keeping tight grip on Hill’s right arm while her right’s shivering punches inside her solar plexus – Hill a swooning, dizzied beauty on her way to bell.
Sceej corner overheard: “Get back to what we discussed, Tay. Legs and jab will win you this fight, girl!” – “Don’t drop the pace, ‘Manda. Girls packs a jab, wants to shut ya out – time to reduce her, minute my minute”, is the opposing advice in Righetti’s corner.
R3: Righetti’s own jab appears, suppressing Taylor’s active commitment – tall brunette coming up short in various rufflin’ mid-ring exchanges, not matching Rigs’ rhythm or able to counter effectively via her own long-jab in these spots. Rat-a-tat jabs, some good, thumpin’ body combinations from Amanda – nothing fancy, but it’s leading Hill into ropeside territory, that ever same drumming pressure raining down Tay’s strong tummy, mid-section, her guard buffeted, kept busy. Hill adjusts well to off-ropism, though: she’s rotating her torso out of the punches, keeping her hands up well, refusing to succumb to a beat-down. And Hill’s also twitching into short, explosive counters throughout these little sieges – working from an organized, if defensive stance, her best moments appear later in the second min: ‘Manda prevented from laying down the hammer across Taylor’s bod as planned – redhead gets caught some artful hooks along the way. Hill patient, trying to read Amanda, then switches her stances, alternating left foot right foot for swiping her lefty, righty hooks across Righetti’s jaw-sides – there go Amanda’s legs a-buzzing!
Tay using legs to make Righetti move from there – her jab gets back into ‘Manda’s face, keeping good ranges for rest of round and her back off ropes. Pretty solid turnaround for Tay across the third – no Rigs momentum building up here.
Hill corner: “Be a fox, Tay. She ain’t sharp tonight – you can get ‘er, girl!”
R4: Righetti flashes back, landing tough, stomping jabs in Hill’s breadbasket, rack early while curving out of Hill’s hunting rights across her left side, bunching her girl up hurt from the beginning. Much more physical pressure from Big Rigs, applied in methodical fashion: fat, whoppin’ sidearm hands banging across Taylor’s hips, mid-section, busy strong-jabbing up top, wide all-over-the-body pressure when Hill’s in the ropes, where she gets stacked up, pushed back on occasion. Humming thrum against Tay’s torso, fists bashing meat – brunette handles these minutes about as best as she can, trying to ease things via outstretched lefts as she slides alongside ropes, pulling windage out of Righetti’s fists, sometimes draping her long arms around ‘Manda’s shoulders, stalling the action. Hill’s off-ropes, off-legs counter punch not to be seen during fourth heat – drubbin’, dizzyin’ punches keep her sliding back onto her heels, hoping legs can carry her outta harm’s way.
Bell: Taylor tilting that 5 ft 11-ish frame back up to its full height in defiance, forcing a stare-down against compact, smaller redhead as she charges out of the ropes, until the ref hops in and orders girls to corner as they should. “Taylor coming apart, ‘Manda”, her corner announces. “Keep up the pressure.”
R5: RIGHETTI GOES DOWN! Girls circle into the fifth round, their arms outstretched, with Taylor’s right hand rolling inside/outside Amanda’s jabs, catching Rigs tuff to sternum – hurt, Amanda’s hopping backward, her hands a little loose and lowered to her mouth, negotiating the distance while trying to re-find her feet. An uncompromising Taylor’s stepping in with her eyes wide, rising into a short-swiped lefty hook connecting to right-side of Amanda’s jawline, then leaning torso back to sprawl her sweeping right hand into the other side of Righetti’s chin, tagging it full! Punches bouncing off her jaw – Righetti’s tottering backwards towards turnbuckle…she’s crashing onto her butt! Tay a-roarin’, thumpin’ her chest: Amanda’s a confused beauty, rolling from buttocks onto side, rising…she’s blinking, a little loose, but she’s got her hands up at 7!
Hill steps back into fray, pulling a massive right hand deep into ‘Manda’s gut, guuh-ooh…redhead in earmuff, already stepping backward. No, short left hook counter, Righetti! Taylor steps in a little too open, walking into that shrugging, swiping hook off Amanda’s right foot! No follow-up from Rigs, but it’s taking the drama out of Hill’s finishing push here…Taylor’s re-forms a more organized stance, builds up jabbing, driving it in circles around a covered-up Amanda. It’s a controlling look for the brunette now, but Righetti’s seeming safer behind her brawny guard for now, getting peppered to the guard and body, though. Minutes ticking down to bell…
Things intensify corner-side after bell…emergency work happening on a still-shocked Righetti. “Focus now, Tay!” Sceej corner says. “Stay focused now, some solid minutes, wait for the righty…this chick’s yours!”
R6: Amanda rallying – a frustrated Taylor meets stubborn, relentless resistance, ending her hopes of a decisive reduction of Righetti’s powers. Hill poised to dictate action via the jab, keeping ranges, really stinging those lefts towards Amanda’s mouth, cheek, rack with plenty of precision, shoving power…Tay’s right hand buffeting Righetti upside/to side of head. Redhead’s legs keep her in combat: she’s able to roll-with Tay’s aggressive work, keeping Hill on alert via strong counter crosses. First minute’s all about Righetti trying to stay safe, interrupting Taylor’s long-jabbing rhythms…second minute sees her engaging on Tay’s left side, matching poke via right hooks now. Drub-drub right hook clubbin’ Taylor’s ear…when Hill leans in to open a right hand, Rigs reads it, twitches into a short, drifting right hand herself.
Third minute: now Righetti’s walking forward…Tay forms peek-a-boo stance, still attempting to reign in redhead via whiplashing jabs…anticipation by Amanda pretty good now, able to tack, lean in and out of the punches effectively. Trouble for Taylor comes via Rigs’ own jabs: knock-knock double jabs getting past Hill’s guard late, snapping her head back and forth! Some bashing wallops across Taylor’s rack…she’s rocked her off stance here.
Girls in tight clinch at bell: Taylor separating a little rickety, sputter-stepping during her first steps back to corner…Righetti sees it, nods.
R7: Righetti confronts Taylor with her defining step-and-poke, finally sensing opportunity against determined brunette foe tonight. The left hand outstretched and a-pumpin’, Amanda’s rifling through Taylor’s pretty face, pounding her face stiff, steady, strong lefts. Most precise, most hurting Righetti jabwork of the night sees Amanda stepping out and around Tay’s angry, short and long counter jabs – Hill’s getting blocked, misses range, or gets beaten to the single punch. Moments for the slow motion highlight reel: Taylor’s head seriously KICKING BACK from single, devastating shots – she’s trying to endure these moments, really attempting to keep engaging, refusing to just go boarding up and trying to lean in via her own lefts, or switch on sudden right-hand hooks, or detonate crosses to ‘Manda’s belly, flanks.
Hill’s got stamina, pride, yet keeps getting pushed back…she makes it into third minute in slowed-down, bunched-up, wounded fashion.
Righetti: sidearm right plowed deep into gut, followed by her arms on Taylor’s shoulders to steer her girl rope-side. Dip to the right, a short choppin’ right hand cramping up Hill’s tummy…dip to the left, her right arm hugging down on Tay’s shoulder blade, dropping the left deep in below Hill’s right elbow. Hill shouting in pain, trying to hang up on ‘Manda, oh, she’s shabby – Righetti shoves the straight-right to Taylor’s face to stabilize her foe, then rolls the left uppercut in there all snug and arched-back, gorgeously arresting all of Taylor’s jaw line! BLASTING shot drops a quivering Taylor forward to all fours…brunette supermodel’s a dismal sight, trying to rally off the deck…you can see her trembling body desperately trying to get up from knees, sobbing, but it just ain’t working…KO7 Amanda Righetti!
After: A shell-shocked Taylor slowly coming off the canvas…her veteran-busting streak ended tonight. Brunette model bitterly disappointed in not finishing the fight. “Not bad!”, Righetti announces in her post-fight interview, a sly smile on her face. “I gotta admit – we didn’t quite anticipate Taylor’s jabbing prowess during my preparation – this chick’s done her homework. Girl hurt me in the fifth, but once I got my jab in order, I sorta went rolling.” |
