ADRIANA LIMA VS MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD

LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT: Round Two

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Adriana: 37 YO, 5’10 (1.78 m), 35-22-0, 33 KO since 2009, Odds & Ends Fight Studio

Mary: 33 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m), 46-41-0, 40 KO since 2007. Foxfire Boxing

Before: Mary attends the pre-fight press conference with her new “Sexy French Maid/Valet” Yvonne Stravosky who is in full costume complete with fishnet stockings. Adriana gives the pair a look of disdain.

“Really, Mary, you and Yvonne are turning this tournament into a joke,” sniffed the Brazilian model.

“It’s almost Halloween, I thought it would add a seasonal touch. After all, Adriana, dear, you can always come as strip club pole dancer. I’m not sure anyone could tell the difference,” returned Mary with a snide smile.

“And I understand Yvonne will be fighting Charlize Theron before out fight. That why Yvonne is here? In case, Theron leaves her in no condition to valet for anyone?” Adriana asks.

“Let me worry about Charlize and getting back to Mary,” Yvonne piped up.

“Isn’t Vonnie, wonderful?” Mary enthused. “Some girls would get all pouty an sulky, but Vonnie just gets into the spirit of the thing.”

“I think you two deserve each other,” Adriana huffed. “I intend to make sure this nonsense ends with this fight. You will be out of the tournament Mary Elizabeth Winstead and your French poodle Yvonne, too.”

“I resent that—I’m an Aussie and don’t you forget it!” Yvonne snapped back.

“You tell her, Vonnie!” Mary chimed in.

“See you there!” Adriana snarled and marched off.

“Well, wasn’t she all huffy,” Mary comments to Yvonne, “I guess she’s scared because she knows I am not about to let her beat me twice in a row. Last year she cost me my chance at the title belt, I am not going to let that happen again.”

“I am sure you won’t, milady--your tea,” said Yvonne handing a china cup of Mary’s favorite beverage.

“You are so thoughtful, Yvonne,” Mary said sipping the tea, “I wish I could have you with me all the time.”

“Don’t press your luck, Winstead,” Yvonne growled under her breath.

The crowd is buzzing with excitement as Round 2 of the Tournament reaches the Lima/Winstead showdown. Adriana arrives first at the ring. She is accompanied by her O& E lightweight teammates Courtney Tailor and Eiza Gonzalez along with her trainer and corner crew. Adriana is in a black satiny bra and bikini panties with white gloves and boots (black laces). The boots have a black AL monogram on them. Her hair is a ponytail with a white ribbon. Mary Winstead makes a grand entrance with Yvonne Strahovski following behind to take Mary’s robe when she doffs it. She is wearing a sunny yellow bikini with matching gloves and boots. (The letters MEW are stitched across the seat on the bikini bottoms in white thread). Mary’s bobbed hair is loose, but wetted down. Foxfire lightweight trainer Rachel Nichols and young Foxfire lightweight trainer Sophia Turner has come along as well. (“We wanted Sophie to get used to a big time fight experience,” Rachel will explain later. “Wish I had a valet like Yvonne Strahovski,” Sophie says wistfully). Some in the crowd are surprised to see Yvonne here after a rousing fight earlier on the card with Charlize Theron. (“I kept a spare Sexy French Maid Costume withfishnet stockings in my locker. All I had to do was take a quick shower and do some facial make up. Then I was ready to go,” Vonnie will later tell the curious press with a satisfied smile. “I didn’t want Winnie complaining about it.”)

Once in the ring, the hostility between Lima and Winstead quickly mounts. Adriana tries to body up on the shorter Mary, but Mary bodies her right back. Referee pushes them apart and lectures them about proper decorum (before the fight). Sullen nodding from Adriana and Mary get the ring instructions moving. The two swipe gloves, but then exchange hip bumps though both walk to their corners and referee does not after intervene. The bell soon sounds. It’s on!

R1: Adriana strikes first with a sudden blow to the chin that knocks Mary back on her heels. Then Adriana strikes at the jaw with a follow-up right and left. Mary looks stunned and confused as she manages to raise her gloves to cover her face. Adriana goes to the belly with pounding hooks that double Mary up. Lima pushing Winstead back into the ropes. Mary rallies as she realizes the danger and stuns Adriana with a desperate jab to the nose. Mary breaks passed Adriana to reach mid-ring. Adriana forced to follow, but once she catches up she is bobbing and weaving as she comes in. Mary having trouble getting her jab in where she wants and she’s taking a lot of Lima leather to the head and body. Mary finally gets jab going properly just as time runs out on the round. Adriana Lima wins the round wide.

R2: Mary trying to attack first as the new round begins but as she is trying to battle her way through the jab, Adriana doubles her up with a sudden hook to the belly. Mary gasping, stumbling back as Adriana comes swarming at her behind a barrage of punches that seem to be hitting Winnie everywhere at once. Mary retreats to regroup and Adriana pursues. Adriana finally catches Winstead, but Winnie has her jab going now and brings the attack to a halt with a flurry of JMD punches to Lima’s rack. Adriana looks furious at the jugg mugging and goes after Winnie’s breasts in furious retaliation. Mary standing her ground and fighting back hard. Short, hard jerking rights and lefts from both fighters to pound the underside of their rival’s breast cups. Then Mary goes after Adriana to the belly and gets her to give ground. However Adriana rallies and comes back with a belly busting attack on the Winstead tummy. Mary falls back, fighting with the jab, but she can only slow Adriana offensive. Mary finally stands her ground and is fighting evenly as she and Lima exchange body banging to the bell. It’s a close one, but judges give it to Adriana Lima by a narrow margin.

R3: The action resumes with Mary and Adriana plunging right in together for another blazing round of intense toe to toe action. Adriana seems to be trying to muscle Mary back into the ropes, but Winnie standing her ground. The bellies, ribs and breasts are taking a real pounding on both straining,sweat soaked bodies, but Adriana and Mary are churning away, trying for dominance. Mary starts working the belly just above the waistband of Lima’s bikini panties. Punch after punch and Adriana starts gasping for air. Mary sees Adriana’s distracted for just moment and pops her a good uppercut to the chin. Adriana not seeing that one coming goes stumbling back. Mary follows , but Adriana shakes off the blow and the body counters stall Winnie’s charge. They battle down to the bell and it is again a close one, but this time Mary Winstead wins the round.

R4: Mary crosses Adriana up by fighting her from the mid-distance, Adriana tries to press in close, but Mary is moving in circles with confusing feints. All the while Winnie is firing punches into Lima’s head. Adriana tries to pull back, but now Mary wants to get in close. She throws herself up against Adriana and pounds the Lima belly with her hooks. Adriana struggling to answer, but then Mary drops back and smacks Adriana in the jaw. Adriana spins away in obvious distress. Mary scrambles to catch up. Adriana manages to deploy her jab in time to keep Mary from overwhelming her. Mary goes back to circling and banging Adriana’s head to the bell. Mary awarded this round by a wide margin.

R5: Adriana trying to strike first as the new round open, but Mary has to same idea. Both exchange rights to the jaw that cause them to lurch away. They quickly recover and exchange more distance shots, The longer reach of Adriana works to her favor as she fires shots into the face of Mary Winstead and then off the sides of her head. Mary responds by moving in close, but has to fight her way through Adriana’s jabbing. Mary’s face really getting red and swollen from all this, but she works her way in. Mary rewarded as she drives Adriana up on her white boot tips with pumping hooks to the belly. Adriana stumbling backwards, but recovers and goes after Mary to the belly. Mary’s cheeks puff out from these blows and she falls back gasping for air. Adriana pressing in as she now works over Mary’s chest. Mary lashes back to Adriana’s jaw with the right. Adriana smacks Mary with a right to the jaw. The two exchange jaw shots that soon have both of them shaky-legged. They switch to belly and boob punching and are standing there with the intensity growing with each punch. Fans are on their feet cheering wildly and wondering who will break first. However once again it is battle to the bell and neither fighter would retreat. Referee actually has to jump in to break it up. They turn away, dripping sweat and looking drowsy as they return to their corners. Judges count of the points and declare this round a DRAW.

R6: The action quickly picks up as the new round begins. Adriana and Mary look recovered sufficiently to go back at each other with renewed vigor. They are circling now, probing as punches go to head and body and look for weaknesses. Mary showing some real footwork with reverses and feints. She’s got Adriana looking off balance and uncertain. Another feint this one to the right with punches seemingly aimed at Lima’s midsection. However Mary brings a left hook clipping Adriana to the chin. Adriana’s long legs start to shake and Mary brings the right crashing into the point of Adriana’s chin. DOWN GOES ADRIANA! Those long stems get all entangled and deposit a dazed Lima onto her side. Mary hurries to the neutral corner. Adriana crawling to all fours and looking up at referee with a foggy expression. Then the expression hardens as Adriana realizes her peril and she pulls herself backup at “EIGHT!” Action resumes but Adriana has gone to a tight, head protecting defense that leaves Mary circling, but unable to get in a solid finishing punch. Round ends. Adriana still on her feet, but the knockdown has assured Mary the round by a wide margin.

R7: Mary comes out with a confident smile on her face, while there is a grim expression on Adriana’s countenance. Mary comes in swinging, but Adriana suddenly steps to one side and brings a crashing right into the side of Mary’s jaw. Mary’s head whips around and she spins away. Adriana moves smoothly with her and brings another crashing right in against the side of Mary’s jaw. DOWN GOES MEW! Mary’s knees just fold up and slumps forward onto her face. She looks up with foggy eyes as Adriana struts away to neutral corner. Then in comes the referee. Mary shaking her head to clear it and struggling to get back up. It seems to be a desperate struggle to get herself erect, but Mary makes it at “NINE!” Adriana slaps the top rope in the neutral corner in frustration, but heads for Mary as soon as the referee waves her in. Mary fighting back hard with her jab to try to slow Adriana down, but the Brazilian is all fired up and fights her way through to get in close to the beleaguered Winnie. Mary finally forced to go face-in-gloves and just take Adriana pounding her as she circles around. Bell ends the ordeal. Mary off to her corner looking rubbery legged while Adriana is in full strut mode as she heads for her stool.

R8: If Mary Winstead thought the last round was bad, this new round quickly turns into a nightmare for the Foxfire fighter. Although the Foxfire corner had worked hard to restore Mary during the break, she was obviously slow in coming out for the new stanza. Adriana was still fired up and she went at Marry aggressively with a whirlwind of punching. The punches ranged all over Mary’s body and left her looking too confused to properly react. Adriana quickly set to work driving Mary back into the ropes. Mary took head snapping rights and lefts to the jaw and then an uppercut that threw back into the ropes. Adriana swooped up as Mary covered up and settled in defensively against the strands. Mary’s flanks and the top of her head were worked over thoroughly as Mary just hung there and took it. Adriana was punching hard, but though she could makes Mary writhe and shudder under the leather storm, she could get her to go down. The bell finally sounded and Mary sagged back against the ropes, hooking her arms along the top rope to steady., Adriana stands there glaring at the still-standing Mary and then marches away. Mary slowly trudging back to her corner. No one has to tell her Adriana Lima got a shutout win in this round.

R9: “You’re losing this fight!” Rachel Nichols heard to warn Mary during the break. “You got to take this fight to her. Fight in her trunks, she doesn’t seem to like that. Don’t let her use that reach against you!” Advice sounds good, but can the battered Mary execute? Mary gives Rachel a defiant nod and says: “Let me at her!” Mary rises at the bell and just goes plowing into Adriana who was plainly not expecting this. Mary is pounding Lima to the belly as she drives her back. Adriana struggling to get her counters, but finally she is able to strike back at Mary to her torso. Now they back in the toe to toe action and they both are somehow able to find the energy late in the contest to go at it full-on. Mary pounding Lima’s breasts late in the action and those puppies must be howling with the pain of all those punches. Adriana faltering and pulling back at the fell. This allows Mary to win the round.

R10: Mary again charges Adriana. Adriana trying to use that superior reach to keep Mary at a distance, but Mary won’t quit trying. Mary bobs, weaves and ducks down low. Finally she comes popping up with a fresh wave of hooks to Adriana’s belly and breasts. Adriana falling back, gasping for air and trying to protect her aching body. Mary sees the opening and goes hammering into Adriana’s chin with driving uppercuts. Adriana’s head jerks back and she starts to go down. Mary’s right flashes out again and Adriana arcs backwards. DOWN GOES ADRIANA! Adriana’s shoulders hit the canvas and her legs actually shoot over head before settling down straight and limp in front of Adriana’s barely moving body. Mary hastens to the neutral corner. Referee is counting. Adriana stirs, starts to try to sit up, but swoons back onto the canvas, arms out flung.

“NINE!....TEN!...YOU ARE OUT!” cries the referee

THE WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE NEXT ROUND OF THE LIGHTWEIGHT TOURNAMENT: MARY ELIZABETH WIBSTEAD DEFEATS ADRIANA LIMA KO10!

After: Rachel Nichols, Sophie Turner, and Yvonne Strahoski gather around Mary to help her celebrate the win. Mary hugs all three, but whispers something in Yvonne’s ear. Yvonne grins and trots over to where Adriana has been assisted to the neutral corner. Courtney Tailor and Eiza Gonzalez stand guard as Yvonne approaches.

“Get lost,” Courtney says, “Adriana is no shape for a Walk.”

Yvonne smiles: “Mary thought as much. She has a better idea. Noe stand back and I will claim those cute monogramed white and black boots as a trophy for my Mistress Mary.”

“I’ll just bet you two play all sorts of games,” sniped Eiza.

“Don’t you wish you could see them,” mocks Yvonne who quickly unlaces the boots and walks off leaving the barefoot Adriana looking after her with a hazy expression.

“I’ll get both of you for this,” Adriana mutters.

“Out we have your boots this time,” Yvonne said cheerfully and went back to the Foxfire corner to turn the boots over to Mary. “The thing I like about you Mary is that you always come up with new ideas or at least ones that don’t get used very much.”

“Why thank you, Vonnie. Since you admire them so much, I think you can finish your valet duties tonight with a good cleaning and polishing. I want those boots to look their best on my Trophy Wall.”

“I probably ought to tell you to polish them yourself, but you did such a good job tonight, I’ll do it. Just don’t forget the valet stuff ends with the Tournament,” Yvonne advised.

“All the more motivation to keep me winning. Now come along everyone, I need a shower and then we all get to celebrate!” Mary announced.

A thrilling battle if there ever was one tonight. The issue seemed in doubt to the end, but once again the fabled “MEW Toughness” got Mary off the canvas and on her way to victory. Excellent fight by Adriana Lima, but she just couldn’t seem to finish Winnie off and she ended up being the one counted out. What the next round with bring already has the fans buzzing and hoping for another classic lightweight contest.
