Kendall Jenner vs. Taylor Swift (Lightweight Title Tournament)(Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE:

Tournament organizers HAD to be hoping to get this match up at this point in the bracket. A blonde. A brunette. Both tall and leggy. Both with huge profiles. Both who came from nowhere to crash into the top echelon of the Tiffany Division. But. There's one major difference between the FCBA careers of the two, at least to this point. Jenner was able pilot her big run right to the lightweight title. Swift's fell short. Mainly due to, um, Kendall Jenner, who beat the blonde twice in four months, including turning her back in a title fight. So, as you might imagine, Ms. Swift is all about a little revenge tonight. "I was better than her both times," the blonde says with a shake of the head. "And, both times, I got sloppy and it cost me. Well. Not this time. This time, I'm whipping her a** and then I'm going to take these belts."

"It's cute," says Kendall with a smirk, "That Taylor still thinks she can beat me. I mean, after all, I left her sucking canvas TWICE. And, tonight, she's going to find out that the third time isn't a charm."

ROUND ONE:

No recon early. Fighters know one another pretty well and get right down to business boxing at range. Taylor the more aggressive of the pair in the first minute, committing more on punches, getting more work done. BOOM! Right hand, Jenner! Kendall catches Taylor with an absolute BEAUTY of a right hand and Swift is HURT! Taylor immediately covering up, long legs wobbling. Brunette going all in, all about finishing this one in shocking fashion. Taylor backed to the ropes and taking with a full minute to go in the stanza. Referee watching closely, on a hair trigger. Swift hanging on, jabbing back when she can, as her rival throws snarling bombs at her again and again. Blonde's chances of getting out of the round looking slimmer and slimmer as Kendall goes to town. But. Somehow, Taylor holds on to the bell, only to see a smirking Jenner turn heel and prance away with a wide victory and a 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Jenner all over Swift off the bell. Kendall determined not just to clean up but to finish. BOOM! Right-hand counter, Taylor! Swift times a rejoinder perfectly and now JENNER is all wobbly butt! Kendall covering up as Taylor switches seamlessly to the offensive. She's laying heavy leather on the reeling brunette, paying her back in full for last round's punishment. Blonde drives the former champ against the cables and goes to work body. She's hammering away to belly and ribs, then going back upstairs to ROCK Jenner along the ropes with a right hook! Referee looking in again, clearly prepared to stop this thing at any moment. Jenner in a tight earmuff, hanging on, making sure to counter here and there, show the referee that she's still fighting. It keeps him at bay. Final seconds see ANOTHER big right from Swift, but Kendall stays on her feet to the bell. This time, it's Taylor smiling and turning away with a wide victory, and the blonde's evened the fight at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Now, it's Swift all over Jenner to start the round. Taylor looking to take out her hated rival right now and take the next-to-last step toward the elusive lightweight gold. Blonde stepping to, bombing away. Jenner taking fire, retreating, countering here and there, BOOM! Right-hand counter, Kendall and SWIFT IS HURT! R. U. KIDDING. ME? Blonde stumbling backward. Jenner winging away with everything she has and DOWN GOES SWIFT! Blonde dropped to her rump by the combined weight of shot! Crowd going nuts. Jenner to a neutral corner. Taylor pounding canvas in frustration. Referee's count gets to seven before the blonde gets to her feet. Ref gives her the mandatory and waives on the brunette. Jenner all in immediately, battering Swift back to the cables and piling on the hurt like she did in the first. Blonde riding it out in a high guard. Manages to make it to the bell. But. It's 10-8, Jenner, who now leads 29-27.

ROUND FOUR:

Kendall's well aware of the way this thing's been turning on a dime, but, she is damning any and all torpedoes and pouring forward at full ahead. She's walking the wobbly Swift down, looking once again to finish her. Blonde playing defense, countering here and there, taking a licking but continuing the ticking. BOOM! DOWN GOES JENNER! To quote Lombardi, "What the hell's going on out here?" Jenner dropped to her back by another blistering blonde counter. Swift to a neutral corner this time to watch and wait. Kendall clearly hurt worse than Taylor was last round, but the brunette makes it to her feet at nine and the referee, after the mandatory, waives on Taylor. Swift brings the pain. She abuses Jenner for the next minute, hammering away to head and body, pinning her on the cables, looking for the "off" switch. Looking. But not finding. At the bell, Jenner still standing. But. It's Taylor 10-8 and we're even at 37.

ROUND FIVE:

Swift rolling. She's stepping to Kendall, letting her have it with both hands. Jenner playing defense, keeping the guard high, giving ground, countering here and there. Blonde, true to her pre-fight promise, not getting sloppy this time. She's setting everything up with the long jab, getting the punches out and back quickly, giving Kendall little chance to set up yet another turn in a fight already filled with them. Instead, Swift piles up the points. All while piling up the hurt. Jenner mostly manages to stay off the ropes, and she scores here and there, but it's all one-punch stuff. She can't get any sustained offense going and spends most of the round taking. In the final seconds, brunette actually puts together a nice flurry, but Swift puts down the rebellion quickly and cruises to the bell, a wide winner. And, that means the blonde has her first lead of the fight, 47-46.

ROUND SIX:

Taylor all about the offense in the opening seconds, but Kendall's got the legs back, and after a couple of sharp flurries from the brunette, blonde realizes the clean up is over. At least for the moment. So. She sets up at range and gets her box on. Jenner, perhaps not completely sure of her base just yet, answers in kind. And, we've got some pretty slick boxing going on. Both ladies seem pretty comfortable here, not a surprise, being as rangy as they are. Both are able to set up right hands with accurate left jabs, while both also play solid defense, picking off punches, slipping others. For nearly the entire three minutes, it goes like this. And, neither fighter is able to create any space on the cards. Instead, it's competitive, two-way stuff throughout, for the for the first time in the bout. When the bell rings, it's Taylor by a cat's whisker. But, narrow though it may be, the points go to the blonde, who doubles her lead to 57-55.

ROUND SEVEN:

Right back to ranged boxing. This fight seems to have finally settled into a pattern BOOM! OK. Maybe not. RIGHT HAND, JENNER! Kendall sends Taylor stumbling backward with a missile blast of a straight right and Swift is GOBSMACKED. Taylor quickly forced into the ropes, where Jenner opens up with the big guns. She PUNISHES Swift to both head and body, going all out to finally end this thing. Taylor's hanging on, leaning back in the ropes in a high guard, rolling with heavy punches, blocking others, taking an absolute POUNDING to the body, which she's having to leave on sale cheap. Jenner seemingly one punch from ending this thing for two and a half minutes, but, amazingly, the punch doesn't come. Kendall can't put Swift down, nor do enough damage to bring the referee in. Instead, the bell rings with the blonde clearly wobbly, but still on her feet. It's a shutout, Jenner, but Swift still has the lead on the cards, 66-65.

ROUND EIGHT:

Kendall snarling after Taylor as the eighth gets underway. Brunette determined to end this thing and NOW. Swift giving ground, playing defense, playing for time to get those long legs back under her. Jenner denying her that time. Kendall stepping to, sitting down on her punches, landing hard shot to both head and body. Taylor buffeted around the ring, unable to do much more than counter here and there. BOOM! Right hand, Jenner and DOWN GOES SWIFT! Kendall with a straight right that blows Taylor to her back. Brunette quickly to a neutral corner. Taylor staring up at the referee as he begins his count. About half way through, she grabs the bottom rope in an effort to pull herself up...but she's still sitting there, glassy eyed, as the count passes her by! It's an FOY candidate, but it's OVER, and your winner by KO8 is Kendall Jenner!

AFTER:

"Like I said," Kendall sneers in the aftermath. "Taylor's never beating me EVER. But, that's not important now. What's important is that those lightweight belts are MINE, and I'm ONE STEP from taking them back!"
