BEFORE:

"The fact that a girl of THIS caliber is anywhere NEAR the Top Twenty," says Kate with a dismissive shake of the head, "proves just how much the bantamweight division has slipped since I stepped away from active competition. This girl would have been nothing but an OPPONENT ten years ago. If THAT."

"Well," says Kat with a smile, "It's good to hear my opponent has some RESPECT for me. But, that's OK. I'm more than willing to BEAT it into her."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Get Ur Freak On' by Missy Elliott, and here comes one of the FCBA's biggest fans of Ms. Elliott, the lovely star of 'Underworld', Kate Beckinsale!"

McCarthy: "She is just INSUFFERABLE! I mean, I can't sit here and hope that Campbell clone DENNINGS wins a fight, but I want to see that smarmy British WEASEL get her ugly face beaten in!"

O'Dell: "Beckinsale taking her time making her way to the ring. Climbing in to be helped off with the robe...and she looks plenty good in that pumpkin colored number, ladies..."

Cassie: "Definitely seasonally appropriate."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' by Scissor Sisters you hear behind us, and that can only mean that Kat 'The Rack' Dennings is on her way to the ring!"

Tess: "Dennings has won sixteen of her last seventeen fights, and the seventeenth was a draw against Demi Lovato. She hasn't lost since 2015. But, she's still behind Chloe Bennet in the Front Street pecking order, and she definitely doesn't want to slip up tonight with King and Reinhart also in the division."

O'Dell: "Kat into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that curve-hugging black bikini we've seen before. And, the ladies are about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kat. Mac?"

McCarthy: "I hate them BOTH. I'm hoping for a DOUBLE KNOCKOUT!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go. Kat stepping to early, and no surprise there. Dennings likes to fight inside, work body. Kate would seem to be better suited to fight this thing at range, especially with some reach advantage, but Kat able to close early and get to work on those toned British abs."

Tess: "No question that Beckinsale is in great shape."

O'Dell: "None at all, and, while these are not the terms the older woman wants, she is holding her own pretty well on them at the moment. She's digging body with Dennings, landing shot to the head, scoring well playing the inside game. Kat, meanwhile, in her element, no doubt of that."

Cassie: "None at all. Not a lot of percentage in fighting Dennings in the phone booth."

O'Dell: "Short term, anyway, Kate's making it work to a point. It's been a closely fought round as we head to the bell. Both brunettes getting work done and neither able to establish any sort of control. Dennings lands a nice short right hook and there's the bell. Definitely close, but Kat's round."

McCarthy: "And, the Campbell Clone leads 10-9. GO, double knockout!"

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Kate renegotiating terms now. Beckinsale on the move, using those long legs to create space and that long, accurate jab to keep it. She's slowing Kat's advances with the left, setting her up for hard, accurate right hands. This is the Beckinsale we figured we'd see in this one, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Well, Walmart over here says that INSUFFERABLE bimbo might be the best fighter never to win a title. Know WHY she never won one? She's not physical enough. THIS is what she can do, but it's ALL she can do."

O'Dell: "Older brunette getting rolling at the moment. She's picking up Kat as Dennings tries to close. Leaving her hanging outside where Kate's able to follow on with right hands, build up combinations. Younger brunette not hurt, but she's taking a lot of leather and there's no question the British beauty's building up the points."

Tess: "This one's definitely not close at the moment."

O'Dell: "Final seconds of the round ticking away. Kate's taken command and she's holding onto it via that left jab. Dennings resolute, still looking to close and bang, but the older woman simply not having any. Beckinsale's in complete control as we reach the bell. Kate and wide in the second."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Beckinsale continuing to call the tune in the third. She's able to get both the distance and geometry she wants, and that's making all the difference. Dennings not able to get to her spots, and, worse, taking a lot of heavy leather and GETTING ROCKED! A right hand from Kate wobbles Kat..."

Cassie: "Kate no doubt will go all in now!"

O'Dell: "And, that's exactly what she's doing and she SENDS KAT TO HER KNEES WITH A BIG FLURRY! Oh, a HUGE combination by the older brunette and it may just have won her the fight. Kate to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Dennings pushing to her feet at eight..."

McCarthy: "And, that WEASEL ref had BETTER not stop this..."

Tess: "Still hoping for that double KO, Mac?"

O'Dell: "Referee going to give Kat the mandatory and waive Kate forward. Beckinsale letting the hands go in a big way. Dennings backed to the ropes and taking. She's got the guard high, rolling with, jabbing back, running clock. Twenty seconds left. Kate giving it all she has trying to get the stoppage, but not going to do it. Five seconds left. One more flurry from Kate, and there's the bell. Beckinsale 10-8."

Tess: "And, she's up 29-27 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "British brunette in total control early. She's touching up Dennings, backing her up with combination after combination. Kat giving ground, countering here and there, but definitely taking much the worst of it. Kate all about finishing this thing off, no doubt about that, but Dennings not playing along..."

Tess: "Kat working some clock. Staying defensive."

O'Dell: "Is, indeed. Wants to get those sturdy legs all the way back under her. Kate trying to take advantage of the fact that that hasn't happened yet. She's piling up points and punishment as we head into the final minute of the round. Dennings firming up some now, holding ground, firing back. And Kate goes right back to boxing."

Cassie: "She's a crafty veteran and she's not going to push this too far and end up eating a big right hand."

O'Dell: "Instead, she's setting up at range, getting punches put together, doing the same stuff we saw in the second round. Dennings working forward again, looking to get inside and bang. Steps to and works some body, but Kate using the legs, gets back to range and back to work as the bell rings. Beckinsale. Wide."

McCarthy: "And that WEASEL leads 39-36. DO something, Campbell!"

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "We start the fifth with Kat looking to renegotiate terms. Younger brunette wants to work inside. Kate's seen that play and doesn't want to see it again. Instead, she's moving, boxing, trying to maintain distance. Able to do it in spots, but, at other times, we're now seeing Kat step to and work those abs."

Tess: "And, Dennings making a SERIOUS investment now."

O'Dell: "Maybe trying to make up for some lost time. Kate slipping away, circling, setting up again behind the jab, making Kat work to close. Dennings willing to do it for the reward at the end of the rainbow, which is more leather being hammered into the Brit's body. Beckinsale tying up now, forcing the referee to break."

McCarthy: "Ref ought to warn her and take a POINT if she keeps doing that. WEASEL!"

O'Dell: "We're into the final thirty seconds of the round. Dennings inside again, working body. Kate slips away, gets back to range and double taps that jab, holding Kat at bay, then dropping in right hands. It's been a two-way round for the first time since the opening stanza, and it stays that way to the bell. Close. Kate."

Cassie: "And, Beckinsale has a nice 49-45 lead at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Second half begins with Dennings again working inside, crowding Kate, backing her up now with some heavy leather. Beckinsale working for space and not finding any, as Kat's enforcing HER terms now and SHE ROCKS BECKINSALE WITH A RIGHT HOOK AND DOWN GOES KATE!"

McCarthy: "THAT will knock the SMUG look off her UGLY face!"

O'Dell: "Beckinsale dropped to her back. Dennings to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Kate to her feet at seven. Ref going to give her the mandatory and waive on Kat! Dennings all OVER the Brit now, thumping away with both hands, banging to head and body, pinning Beckinsale to the ropes..."

Cassie: "Kate keeping the guard up, rolling with, playing good defense..."

O'Dell: "And, running clock, which is the key here. Dennings just RIPPING away at the older woman, letting her hands go, putting everything she's got behind those punches. Doesn't look like she's going to be able to finish here, as we're down to ten seconds, but, she may well have turned the fight. There's the bell. Kat 10-8."

Tess: "Kate still ahead by two, 57-55, but Dennings is back in it."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Kat boring forward, thumping away at the older brunette. Beckinsale in retreat. It's not quite a rout, because the British beauty is jabbing back, trying to slow Dennings down, but Kat's having her way right now, banging to head and body, keeping the pressure on her rival in a big way."

McCarthy: "Campbell ought to have told this girl to FINISH. Now is the time to FINISH!"

O'Dell: "NO question that's what Kat's trying to do, but Kate plenty slick on defense, making that hard to do. Dennings backs her to the ropes again and begins tenderizing those abs with hooks. Kate crouching, trying to protect the body and STRAIGHTENED UP WITH A RIGHT UPPIE! Beckinsale wobbled!"

Cassie: "I can't believe she's still STANDING!"

O'Dell: "Kate leaning back in the ropes now as Dennings GOES TO TOWN. Referee looking in closely as we enter the final 20 seconds. Kat tossing everything but the kitchen sink at her rival trying to find the off switch. Down to five seconds. Kate going to survive it again. There's the bell. Shutout, Kat."

Tess: "And, despite two HUGE rounds from Dennings, Beckinsale still up 66-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth begins with Kat continuing with the pressure. She's banging away with both hands. Kate giving ground, playing defense, countering in spots and GETTING DROPPED BY A RIGHT HOOK! Kat spills the older woman to her back by a short right that had plenty of power behind it!"

McCarthy: "THAT ought to do it!"

O'Dell: "Dennings to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Beckinsale sits up at seven. Eight. And, Kate back to her feet..."

McCarthy: "SLOW COUNT! SLOW COUNT!"

O'Dell: "Referee going to give the Brit the mandatory and waive Dennings forward. And Kat wasting no time getting right back to work. She's tossing everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink at Kate, BURYING a left hook to the body and then DROPPING BECKINSALE AGAIN WITH THE RIGHT HOOK!"

Tess: "Ref may waive this off...and maybe he should..."

O'Dell: "Not going to. Kat to a neutral corner. Kate flat on her back. Count at three. Four. Five. Beckinsale staring up at the ref watching the numbers get bigger. Seven. Eight. Not going to beat this one. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO8 in comeback fashion is Kat 'The Rack' Dennings!"

Cassie: "Impressive stuff from Kat. Very impressive."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kat Dennings, and, Kat, you got in a hole tonight..."

Kat (nodding): "And SHE put me there. She's a heck of a fighter. One of the best I've ever been in against. She got it going and it took me some time to slow that down and get rolling myself."

Tess: "Looked like you were determined to finish..."

Kat (nodding): "Had to. Let her off the hook there, and you might not like what happens when the cards come back. Had to put her down and keep her down and that's exactly what I did."
