BEFORE:
Here we go with the second fight of this landmark Doll Ball PPV, with the fiery redhead Jessica Chastain facing off against PLP veteran Autumn Reeser. Here we have two evenly matched women from around the same age group and the same exact height, as well as a similar number of fights under their belts. This is going to be an interesting match-up for sure!

Jessica certainly feels the same way during her pre-fight press conference, smiling as she responds to reporters’ queries:

“Autumn was kind enough to offer a friendly challenge... at least, it seemed pretty friendly!” Chastain begins, smiling at Autumn’s direction. “I gladly accepted and I’m looking forward to being challenged here tonight. I know her record isn’t the best, so I guess that makes me the favorite to win tonight. I definitely don’t plan on disappointing my fans here tonight, but I’m pretty sure Autumn will try EXTRA hard, so I’m not taking her lightly… not at all! I’m ready for a tough fight but at the same time, I’m confident I’ll get the win tonight! It’s a big event for us, and we need all the wins we can get! Right Carmen?” Jessica laughs, giving Carmen Electra a playful look. “I wish Autumn good luck tonight and… may the best woman win!”

Autumn as friendly as her own namesake, smiling and nodding as she listens to Jessica’s comments before responding into the mic when it’s her own turn:

“Jessica’s certainly come a long way since her debut, and I want to say with certainty that I truly respect her for entering the ring at her age. Trust me - I know it’s difficult myself! That being said, I’m not planning on going easy on her tonight. I’ve got a few surprises in my bag and I knew what I was doing when I issued the challenge. I need this win on my record, and Jessica’s going to be the one who gives that to me tonight!” Autumn ends with a knowing wink.

Despite those fighting words, both women actually meeting at the podium without incident, shaking hands and then wishing each other the best of luck in sincere tones.

After a few minutes backstage, we’re ready to get the fight started proper. Autumn’s music is first to hit the arena, blasting out and announcing her arrival in a red bikini and bundled hair. The girl is turning the late side of 40 herself, but certainly looking nothing like her age. She bites down on her lower lip early on, indicating some hesitancy, but immediately becoming energized by the welcoming ROAR of her fans in attendance here tonight. She then proceeds to stride down the ramp with a stronger degree of confidence. Moments later, it’s Jessica’s turn to make her presence felt, emerging from backstage with a flourish and plenty of fireworks, that tight, bright orange outfit always going well with her equally-fiery hair that’s tied up into a tight ponytail. Chastain with a focused look in her eyes as she walks towards the ring, as though eyeing her success before it becomes a reality. She spends a few moments waving to her many fans, even stopping to sign some autograph to some eager fans in the stands.

We’re in for one hell of a fight between two mature, determined women, that’s for sure. Soon enough , both women are ready, the referee having done his final checks without any incident, and HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Older means wiser, that’s for sure, with both girls taking their sweet time before throwing punches at each other. They spend the first minute sizing each other up and circling left and right, rather than charge inwards brazenly, like some of their younger counterparts would do. Jessica especially flicking leather at Autumn’s head early on and consistently probing her defences, noting each time she manages to score on the Reeser’s cheek by drawing a sharp gasp. Autumn still getting into her own rhythm by the end of the first round, letting in those erroneous punches to her cheek but generally defending the rest of her opponent’s attacks well. She only starts punching back proper in the final minute, but it’s too late to turn the round back in her favour, even after she managed to slap some leather into Chastain’s tummy in the final seconds. Chastain’s round, but we’re sure that both ladies are only getting started.

ROUND 2:
Here comes Reeser early and swift and hard, suddenly throwing hooks into Jessica’s guard and buffeting her body around without much warning! Reeser trying to mix up her offense and keep Chastain guessing, and it seems to work early on! Chastain getting spooked now as she opts to retreat instead of press her advantage, but gets driven back across the ring with Autumn continually landing swings into her sides with rough grunts. Thankfully though, Reeser’s attacks are both temporary and ill-placed, with the majority of the punches being deflected or blocked by Chastain’s impressive defense skills. Still, that ain’t gonna earn her any points by and large, and she lets Reeser take this second round by a wide margin as a result.

ROUND 3:
Chastain still in experimental mode as she allows her opponent to dictate the pacing and power exchanged. Even her corner is getting worried, with Carmen Elektra trying to shout some advice at her from her corner. The redhead however seems to have her own game plan - she never really gets herself cornered into a dangerous situation, and yes, while she’s taking those big hooks ti her forearms, keen observers will notice Chastain is also biting back in between, snaps punches into Autumn’s chin and lips whenever she senses an opening. In this very manner, Chastain stopping her wound that was bleeding points, with Autumn still taking the third but definitely by a much smaller margin. Audience sensing a possible turnabout here for one lovely lady!

ROUND 4:
AND HERE COMES CHASTAIN, SWINGING HARD! Autumn not knowing what the f*ck just hit her as her own hook is deflected awkwardly to one side, before her face is SWIPED hard to the left, then another time to the right, before Jessica FLINGS a final uppercut aimed low at the chin, like she’s been taught in her training sessions. This textbook maneuver bound to knock the lights out of the meanest of opponents, but alas, Autumn not as inexperienced as Chastain would like to think. Instead, Reeser taking those hooks to the face, yes, but the shock to the system brings her guard up just in time to absorb that game-ending uppercut. Reeser still looking stunned, however, now in full retreat as she covers up and tries to prevent an embarrassing knockdown early. Jessica flying forward regardless, still keen on attempting one. She continues scoring with precision jabs all over the body and even on the nose, but Reeser stubbornly remaining on her feet for the remainder of the round. When the bell finally rings, there’s a huge grin on Chastain’s face as she heads back to corner - she seems to have this fight all figured out and is beginning to exploit her knowledge of her opponent’s fighting style!

ROUND 5:
Autumn Reeser looking to tip the scales back in her favour, but it’s gonna prove to be difficult with her opponent knowing well where and when she’s about to swing in her direction. Certainly, Chastain bobbing and weaving around Autumn’s hooks that are still aimed for her head. All this while, the heavier redhead advancing forward and punching at her foe steadily, knocking the chin backwards with more painful grunts, with Chastain making her presence known bit by bit! Last moment and Reeser is left breathing hard, struggling to stay afloat in the fight but just getting outclassed by a bigger and more confident opponent. Another quick flurry that lands on her body has her bent over, gasping, with her face primed for a follow-up right hook from Chastain, sending the poor girl spiraling down to the ground in a third minute KNOCKDOWN for Jessica Chastain!

Autumn breathing hard with her face down to canvas, eyes squeezed shut as the referee hovers above her, trying to check on her availability. Sensing the fact that this woman ain’t about to recover anytime soon, let alone within 10 seconds. He decides to wave the fight over!! Oh my!

Official Decision: Jessica Chastain defeats Autumn Reeser via KO5!

AFTER:
A modest smile on her gorgeous face as Chastain raises one hand and waves to her fans in the crowd, thanking them for supporting her all this while. Part of her face showing relief at having beaten the odds, joining the boxing business so late in her adult life and still managing to take out plenty of women, some of them almost half her age!

Immediately after her brief celebration, Chastain walking over to check on Autumn’s corner, with the groggy brunette having managed to sit up with her back to the ropes by this point of time. Chastain bending down and whispering some encouragement into her ear, with Autumn nodding along, grateful for the edifying words.

Later, Chastain telling reporters, “Phew… This is a pretty special night for both me and the Dollhouse, and I’m just glad I could get this win for us. I had quite a lot to lose in there tonight, but I came prepared. I’m having a hard time believing I’m 7-1 now - I would never have imagined it a year ago! So here’s a huge ‘Thank you’ to my trainers and to Carmen for getting me into this whole business and for sticking with me! I can’t wait to kick more ass under their guidance!”
