BEFORE:
A mid-way match on this landmark card has blondie wonder Ginny Gardner going up against middling Bantamweight and former Sisters-in-Arms import, Joo Min-Hee. It’s gonna be an interesting contrast of styles, with Ginny known for her lightweight movements whereas Min-Hee showing off her dominant brawling style in the past. Judging from both girls’ opening statements, however, they don’t have seem to have much knowledge of each other’s presence or history in the ring.

“I’ve honestly never heard of Minhee before I was contacted about fighting her, but apparently she’s pretty good. I’m not so sure what to expect from her - she doesn’t have much more experience than I do, but she’s currently 7-2, so I’d better take her pretty f*cking seriously!” Ginny laughs. “I DO have two inches on her, so hopefully I can use that to my advantage tonight and kick some butt. I’m 4-1 myself, so that’s nothing to sneeze at either, hopefully for her she knows that! I’m totally ready, let’s do this!”

Ginny looking eager to start this contest whilst still seated at the pre-fight press conference table, glancing at her Korean counterpart off to the side. Even though Minhee’s not from these shores, time and time again her opponents have underestimated this young hitter, to their detriment. Minhee grinning back at the blonde, but coyly choosing her words as she responds with some condescension underscoring her tone:

“Ginny is very cute…and very pretty, but I’ve watched a few of her fights and I don’t think I’ll have too much trouble beating her. She seemed pretty nervous in the ring, and she’s definitely not as skilled as me. They must have known I’ve won my first 7 fights in a row, so I was very surprised to be contacted by her management. She’s a rookie, and I think they’ve made a big mistake in putting her against me so early. I’ve lost my last 2 fights to very good and experienced opponents, but tonight I’m planning on going back to doing the beating myself! I will try not to hurt her TOO much!” Minhee ends with a giggle, covering her mouth with the back of her hand.

An hour later and its finally fight time - Ginny first to enter the arena, strutting down the runway and looking nothing like how her opponent initially described her – the blonde hottie seems completely confident as she jogs towards the ring in her usual turquoise sports bra and grey tights, hi-fiving some lucky fans along the way. Gardner is beaming when the announcer shouts out her name to the crowd, with the gorgeous Doll growing her own fanbase with each subsequent victory under her belt. Minhee’s next to walk down the ramp, looking stunning in a glowing pink bra and black panties set herself, with black gloves on either of her hands. Make no mistake of labeling this fight as pure filler material - both these women eager to win and it shows on their faces in either corner of the ring. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Minhee bunching up her fists as she comes forward early, looking to brawl. This style fits her heavier-set body quite well, and also matching her previous style of fighting against past opponents. It’s how she managed to put away foes like Meghan Markle and Summer Glau, after all. Ginny having watched those tapes, and immediately starts getting her spider-senses tingling at the danger this woman poses by coming onto her quickly. Blonde girl opting to stay at range and punch at her, with Minhee coming forwards like a freight train, and Ginny having to rely on her reflexes and agility to dodge her looming hooks thrown at her head. Ginny succeeding with some early punching of jabs into her body and face, scoring multiple times that we hope are not simply unforced errors, but skill on the Doll’s part. Only time will tell, and definitely, by the final minute, Minhee shows us what she can do with her own mean frame, scoring with a jab-jab to Ginny’s chest, which stuns her briefly, before ramming a right hook straight into her stomach, shocking her to her core, quite literally! Thankfully, the bell rings soon after, allowing Gardner to stumble back to her corner, (mostly) with her dignity intact.

ROUND 2:
Ginny tasked to keep up her speed in the ring and not to get careless like the last round. She needs to stick to her strategy of constant running in order to not get blown clear out of the water by letting Minhee connect in there. To her credit, Ginny adapting well early on, keeping herself out of range and letting Minhee swing at the air as she barrels clumsily towards her. Ginny on the other hand slowly and deliberately slapping leather into the Korean girl’s face, drawing some sharp gasps in the first two minutes, before Minhee herself learns her lesson from the throbbing pain mounting and opts to stay away in the final minute as well. The Asian stunner seems to be reevaluating her own strategy here, but finding out that not having a trainer or stable backing her in her corner is going to hinder the effectiveness of her overall game plan. Ginny takes the round by a small margin, and looks set to continue with her current strategy of hit-and-run.

ROUND 3:
Minhee somehow decides to mirror her opponent’s game plan in the third, trying to go tit-for-tat with Ginny’s jabbing at her head from long range. But Ginny’s always going to excel and be better at this particular stance, especially with her two-inch height advantage, meaning that her reach is going to out-pace Minhee’s most of the time. The Asian sensation finding this fact out the hard way as the girls end up trading shots in the middle of the ring early on, but Ginny managing to plant leather in her opponent’s face a little more often and quick, before evading return hands by simply swerving her upper torso slightly to the side or backwards. Third or fourth such rapid exchange suddenly sees Minhee gasping and stumbling backwards in pain - she looks hurt and suddenly covering up! Ginny cautiously advancing forwards, keeping up the same barrage and pace of jabs thrown previously. Minhee doing her best to fend off flurry after flurry, but can’t quite keep herself afloat in the face of Gardner’s constant aggression! Her nose getting stung repeatedly, causing the yelping Korean to leave herself wide open, her eyes squeezed shut and arms flailing about... The blonde’s killer instinct is in full display here as she steps in and SWIPES the brunette’s head clear to the right with a savage textbook hook causing a loud OUUFFFGGHHH! Poor Minhee stumbling to the side, shell shocked, before tripping over herself and falling down to the canvas! AND it’s an early KNOCKDOWN for the blonde!!

That wasn’t what anyone was expecting, that’s for sure! Ginny can’t stop herself from beaming, however, bouncing on her toes with one arm raised as she makes for neutral corner. Minhee shaking her head in stupor, not entirely sure what hit her with the referee already beginning to count her out and spoil her party. But Minhee looks way too dazed to recover quickly enough… she’s idling on her hands and knees as she struggles to find the ropes for support... Referee hits the ten-count and the Korean sensation is still groggy on her knees! THIS FIGHT IS OVER!!

Official Decision: Ginny Gardner defeats Joo Minhee via KO3!

AFTER:
Wow! Ginny with a dominant showing here tonight, and she certainly looks relieved and happy, rushing back to her corner with pure bliss in her eyes, flying into the embrace of stablemates and trainers alike! Later, she comments excitedly to reporters:

“Phew...Man...I was a bit worried about this one. Didn’t know what to expect from this girl…but this is a huge confidence boost for me. I really fucked her up! She might be 7-2…Well...7-3 now...” Ginny chuckles “But I’m on my way to 10-1, baby! It feels so f*cking good! I want more!” Gardner ends with a gigle, doing the V sign with her fingers and grinning into the cameras, her pretty face barely broken with sweat at this shock result.

Meanwhile, Minhee left in the ring to be checked on by medics. Surely a disappointing loss for this promising Korean - her second one this year. Unfortunately, this is what happens to a girl once she’s lost representation - they seem to quickly lose their confidence and spirit. At least this fight was done and over quickly, leaving Minhee breathing hard on the ground but medics already clearing her of any permanent damage. Instead, the damage tonight is really to her pride, leaving her to decide on her next move in this league.
