Katheryn Winnick (40, 5’4, 121 lbs, 12:3 FCBA, The Dollhouse) Vs. Eliza Dushku (37, 5’4, 114 lbs, 98:49:6 FCBA, Medallion Boxing)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago & The Dollhouse
BEFORE: "I've settled my feud with Kardashian, which was something personal for me.” Winnick opens up pre-fight. ”But now I can focus on some bigger names going forward! Okay…yes, Kim is a pretty big name, but mostly *outside* the ring. Tonight is a challenge on a…whole different level for me. Taking down a hall of famer with 18 years of experience doing this, not to mention about a gazillion titles….” Katheryn chuckles, shaking her head. “Yeah, talk about a risky fight! But you guys know me by now…I live for these challenges and am ready to take on basically anyone! I know what Eliza is capable of, I’ve seen it - she’s as dangerous as they come in this league, but I truly think I can say the same about myself. If you’re not convinced yet, I might just convince you tonight.” Katheryn ends with a wink, the blonde clearly in high spirits and ready to tackle this new challenge which features none other than Tractorpull's Hall of Fame member and former multiple time champion Eliza Dushku.
Dushku isn't as active as she was in her prime but she's got 98 career wins to her name and some pundits believe she wants to reach the full ton before officially retiring. She's a major upgrade over most of Winnick's previous opponents but not exactly odds-on favorite based on The Dollhouse's successful run during the past several months. Winnick has indeed silenced some critics - but not all of them - and is no longer considered a journeywoman place-holder on the Carmen Electra roster. Then again Dushku has the same amount of FCBA TITLES to her name as Winnick has fights under her belt!
“Look, I have plenty of respect for Katheryn.” A confident Dushku says pre-fight. “A woman her age coming out of basically nowhere and challenging herself against some of the best the FCBA has to offer, and doing pretty f*cking well so far. Yeah, I dig it. She’s won her last 10 fights…that’s not something I can ignore….I KNOW Winnick’s real. Which is why I came fully prepared for a super tough contest tonight. If she wants her streak to continue after tonight, she better bring something VERY special to the ring, otherwise she’s going to find out why I’m a Hall of Famer - the hard way.” Dushku ends with a cocky smirk, now making her way to her dressing room for some final preparations.
An hour later and It’s finally fight time! Katheryn Winnick wears a white sporta bra with black trim, matching hotpants and white gloves with a black 'Venum' logo. Long blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. Eliza Dushku wears a black sports bra with grey trim, matching hotpants and grey gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1: Katheryn tries to impose her presence in the ring from the get-go but Eliza shows no signs of rust and easily ducks away from the blonde's spirited attacks. She jumps into a classic counter-punching route to keep the Dollhouse fighter at bay while steering her shots straight on the money. She pierces Winnick's high guard while jumping around on her toes and glues the older woman to the spot when a nasty combo connects with the jaw to sink Katheryn into early spasms. Cue in a proper blast to the body and Winnick yields real estate in a hurry with Dushku all over her once she drives her butt-in-ropes come the final minute. Katheryn manages to weather this storm thru some blatant clinching but that's as positive of a start from the Hall of Famer as anyone could have hoped for - Erin Andrews in the booth included.
Round 2: More of the same in the second as Katheryn jumps into a slugging route with Eliza happy to bide her time in mid-range... the brunette's plan backfires though when Winnick hauls in a one-two punch on the temples and beats the younger rival for a left hook on the jaw. Ugh! Eliza takes a couple of steps back but that's enough for Katheryn to unload a quick left hook on the mouth that sinks the Hall of Famer on wobbly knees. She can't escape the Dollhouse rush thereafter and it's no longer a controlled journey around the ring with Winnick flying in with several punches. The only problem? Dushku remains the quicker of the two and Katheryn can't find that big haymaker to truly ruffle her feathers. However the Dollhouse recovery has coach Loken visibly upbeat once the bell terminates Winnick's prowl.
Round 3: Katheryn's aggression has defied plenty of expectations around the league but Eliza avoids getting laced early in the third and ducks underneath to connect with the blonde's body instead. She riffles a series into the exposed ribcage before thumping Winnick on the chest which catches the older woman off guard. Katheryn drops to her heels and while she tries to swing back at the brunette, she gets CRUSHED with a right hook on the jaw... Uh-oh!!! She trips back to the ropes with a whimper but doesn't have the mobility to escape a vicious follow up... ELIZA BLASTS HER ON THE JAW with a monster right hand and WINNICK GOES DOWN on the spot!!! Talk about a wake-up call for the Dollhouse faithful! The Canadian looked awfully hittable right there and needs the full eight count to gather her appearance. She nods back at the ref but Eliza keeps her pinned in the corner for remainder of the round crashing into the midsection from both flanks as Katheryn remains buried behind a tight earmuff. Ugh! The one-sided pounding could have warranted a stoppage already if not for Winnick's overall record!
Round 4: Eliza's on the move early, she eyes a swift KO4 repeat of last year's pasting she delivered at the expense of Nicole Scherzinger and now we get to see what Winnick can offer in sheer mobility terms. Not much is the answer and the Canadian gets bulied around the ring with the Hall of Famer picking her off even in mid-distance. Katheryn's aggressive approach is nowhere to be found following the knockdown but she avoids getting trapped in close range mayhem again as Dushku stacks up single punches like lightbulbs on a 3-2 pitch. Winnick drops to the ropes come the final minute seeking a clinching respite alas Eliza rallies to the gut and leaves the blonde aching at the bell.
Round 5: Coach Kristanna Loken tries to reboot Katheryn's aggression ahead of the fifth but Eliza's no longer holding back for the counter-punches and matches the Canadian's stance which gives her the eventual edge in a classic slugging brawl. Winnick tries to force her punches over the top but bounces off the top of Dushku's head and gets picked off from the inside with her rack taking more punishment. More clinch time from the embattled blonde and even the ref has had enough of this. He gives Winnick a lecture with the panting blonde nodding as she wipes the sweat from her brow. However the questionable tactic has thrown Dushku right off her offensive gear and she fails to regain her rhythm once the bout is finally resumed. Meanwhile Winnick cashes in late with a few overhands and but still looking clearly distraught at the bell. Erin Andrews has no doubts some of the negative reactions heard from the crowd is aimed at the Dollhouse fighter here but Dushku couldn't care less as she's build a big lead on the cards.
Round 6: Winnick has escaped physical damage despite getting vastly outscored by a supreme fighter thus far alas she catches a second wind in her sails when she knocks some juice into Eliza's face early in the sixth. It seems like Dushku seeks that counter-punching drill again instead of lashing out at the Canadian but she's in the Hall of Fame so she knows what she's doing, right? WRONG!!! Winnick blasts a left cross on the nose before thumping the brunette on the chest and some of the JMD veterans would struggle to shake off that punch! Eliza scowls in pain and for once gets beaten for a classic overhand... Winnick drills her lips from both flanks while driving her onto the ropes where she finally gives up on the clinching part and harpoons the brunette's midriff instead! Dushku folds into spasms and suddenly can't slug it out to match the blonde's antics which fuels Katheryn's execution. Hey, even the audience likes it! A nasty beating to the body leaves Duskhu slumped at the bell and maybe there's still hope for the Dollhouse crew after all?
Round 7: Eliza still leads on the cards but Winnick's on a roll helped by the fact her rival looks a little affected by that body-busting drive in the sixth... Make that more than a little affected as the blonde pours more juice to the midriff with Dushku unable to use her footwork to control the environment anymore... she slumps against Winnick's waist but can't find the clinching respite as she gets hammered from both flanks and drops to her heels... an overhand response knocks the Canadian on the nose but the follow up bounces off the top of her shoulder while a piercing hook drills the liver area and folds Eliza into immediate spasms... Winnick steps back to lock the rattled woman up and a piston left hook slams Dushku on the jaw next.. Ugh! The Hall of Famer stumbles forward and Katheryn's quick to react as she BLASTS a left hook on the liver THAT SENDS THE BRUNETTE CRASHING DOWN ON HER KNEES!!! Uh-oh!! And this one HURTS!!! Eliza squeals in pain as she tries to battle back to her feet, she gets up at six but remains slumped and hugs the aching area... the bell ain't gonna save her as we're only half-way through the round so the fight is STOPPED!!! Shocking come-from-behind TKO7 Katheryn Winnick!!!
Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Eliza Dushku via KO7.
AFTER: A huge smile on the aching blonde’s face as she lifts one arm up high before hugging Loken and Chastain as the Dollhouse crew celebrates! When you're on a roll you can snatch victory from jaws of defeat and Katheryn just added a Hall of Fame scalp to her resume on top of that! That's more than enough to silence the critics off the trouncing of a somewhat low-hanging fruit called Kim Kardashian at the last Doll Ball PPV. Then again Katheryn takes extra pride in a rare support she's received from the ever-sceptical Tess Valmore over the recent weeks: "Phew…God, that was…..pretty crazy!” A very sweaty, tired looking Winnick chuckles as she talks to reporters post-fight. “I got her though…that’s all that matters. I wanted to be more aggressive than usual tonight, throw her off a bit….didn’t go too well at first, I guess she’s seen everything, right? But I got it done!” Winnick shakes her fist grinning. “You know, the young girls get most of the attention around here and I'm no spring chicken anymore but I've proven that I deserve to be in this league and not just to rack up the numbers. I'm like a late-blooming contender and that's all that really matters! I can't wait to see what my team sets up for me next! I've just knocked out a frickin' Hall of Famer and it feels good!" The blonde ends with a giggle and that gorgeous smile of hers before joining the rest of her crew making their way backstage. |
