Tracy Spiridakos versus Joo Minhee(Words: Bazz / Results: Lookout!)
Before: Joo Minhee stands at the podium looking over the reporters and photographers. “Well this is a new thing for me. This is the big time. That’s okay though because I’m not afraid. I’m ready for my big break. I’m going to take advantage by whooping some ass tonight. I know that Tracy’s good, real good, but that’s okay. That just means that next week I’ll be ranked that much higher. So let’s get it on! I’m good to go!”
“Well you’re right about this being your big break. I mean this is the big time. The arena is sold out. 12,000 people in those seats and they’re not here to listen to you sing. There’s a lot of pressure here but that’s okay Joo one of the great things about the FCBA is that you get more than one big break. So after they’ve scraped you up off of the canvas tonight you’ll have a full understanding of the capabilities that you might have if you put in the work that I do. So let me be perfectly clear. Tonight is not an opportunity, it’s a learning experience and I’m the teacher.” Tracey Spiridakos lets her strong experience be known and then immediately hops off the podium.
Joo Minhee looking exotic in a bright yellow bikini with matching boxing shoes and gloves. Tracy sculpted into a black bikini with black gloves and black boots with ‘Bazz’ stenciled diagonally across them.
Rd 1 Both fighters charge out and get right to it. Spiridakos ducks to her left and uncoils a left hand jab that catches Minhee straight on. The young singer stumbles backwards suffering her first lesson at the hands of the experienced Bazz fighter. Tracy dances forward hoping to administer some more pain but is surprised to see that Joo has recovered and the Korean singer throws a couple of counter punches that catch her driving her right back. Both fighters trade punches and circle. Minhee’s reach is impressive and she is able to pick off Spirdakos with a couple of jabs. The Korean singer is holding the Bazz fighter at bay with a quick agility that no one had seen coming. It’s jab and run for Minhee who is working the outer edges on Spiridakos taking her time with her left hand and scoring points with each thrust. The round ends in surprising fashion with Joo taking a slight edge.
Rd 2 Tracy out hard and heavy showing her frustration from the previous round. She’s throwing some thunderous stuff right off the bat giving Minhee a lesson in power punching in the FCBA. Joo dancing delicately away from each thrust catching little damage as she resumes her jab and parry technique. Spiridakos getting frustrated again. She’s bobbing and weaving in and out catching Minhee with an occasional body blow but for the most part taking jab after jab from the lithe singer as she dances around the muscular Bazz girl. Minhee working hard on her jabs, lunging in on her left leg extending her jab and touching up Tracy with ease. Spiridakos trying to muscle her way on Joo but so far the Korean is just too agile with her delicate movements around the ring. The bell rings decidedly in Joo’s favor with an overwhelming advantage from her successful strategy of staying out of the Bazz girl’s way and touching her up with point accumulating shots to the head.
Rd 3 Spiridakos smiling as she emerges from her corner. Bazz girl dancing on the fringe advancing with just enough aggression that the ref sees that she is staying engaged. Spridakos jabbing at Minhee and dancing away while the Korean tries to avoid her left hand and apply her own. The two fighters circle on their bicycles only this time it’s Spiridakos getting the advantage with regards to scoring. The Bazz girl is just that much quicker and smoother than the Korean touching her up with a two to one margin in punches landed. Minhee now at a loss as to how to shift gears to match up with Spiridakos. Tracy looking like a June Taylor dancer, jab and sashay, jab and sashay. Minhee can’t hold back trying to land a two punch combination and…Wham! Bam! Spiridakos sees her opening and lands a tremendous shot to the side of Joo’s torso and then a left hand uppercut that just touches the chin. Joo is dazed, absolutely shocked that a punch could land with that much power and pain attached to it. She’s backed up against the ropes covered up with hands securely around her face. Meanwhile Spiridakos has switched gears and gone heavy on her opponent. Short arm left hand jabs are followed up by thunderous right hands thumping against the Korean fighter’s body and taking their toll. Referee taking a good look at the situation was the bell for the third round sounds with the Bazz girl in complete control.
Rd 4 Minhee taking instruction in the corner from her handlers. They had to have known that between Pointy and Lis Rohm the Bazz corner would have figured a way around Minhee’s delicate point gathering strategy and now it’s their turn to counter Spiridakos. Both girls circling. Minhee looking as if trepidation is at her door while Spiridakos wondering what the Korean girl has in store for her. Minhee moves in with a long armed jab and then stays on top with a right cross that just misses. Spiridakos sees her opening and goes low with a left hand to the torso twisting her own body for maximum torque on the punch. Minhee with an audible wince as she bends like a sapling from the shot to her side. Spiridakos relentless now stepping in with some serious blows to the body. She’s working over every vital organ in Joo’s inventory forcing Minhee to retreat to the ropes. Despite the roar from the crowd which is now on its feet Spiradakos’ grunts and Mihee’s winces can be heard above everything. Tracy’s head is down as the hup hup hup goes into full motion. She’s just putting it to the lithe Korean girl as the bell sounds with no end in sight.
Rd 5 Minhee trying to hold it together gets some hope in the form of a jab followed up by a right hand cross to the head. Spiridakos’ head snaps to the side as she withstands the firm right cross delivered by Minhee. The Bazz girl staggers back a step while she regroups. Minhee steps in for some more hoping to turn the tables but advancing at this point is a big mistake. Spiridakos reads the aggressive Korean perfectly and right, left, right she lands a beautiful three punch combination starting downstairs in the belly and finishing upstairs at the chin. Minhee in trouble now backing up with hands around her head only to be treated to an incredible array of blows to the body. Korean girl doubling over now while Tracy steps in with a withering number of blows all over Minhee. Referee staying close now. Joo up against the ropes. Spiridakos working shoveling coal with blow after blow to the body, Minhee helpless to stop it. Suddenly Spiridakos steps up and plows a right hand to the side of Minhee’s head. Bazz girl steps back now and watches the inevitable. Joo wilts down the ropes collapsing to the canvas. Ref steps in and counts. Minhee in a human puddle, her head down unable to get up as the ref reaches ten. IT’S A ROUND 5 KO BY TRACY SPIRIDAKOS!
After: “She’s a good boxer. She’s got some good technique. I don’t quite see her at the top of the food chain yet though. Still, you never know, some good training and some good coaching and it could happen. It’s just not going to ever happen against me. On to the top of the pile people! That’s where I’m headed!” Tracy Spiridakos tells the FCBA with her fists raised over her head. |
