DAKOTA JOHNSON VS SOPHIE TURNER
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Dakota: 29 YO, 5’7 ½ (1.71 m), 3-10-0, 3 KOs since 2015, FCBA Free Agent
Sophie: 22 YO, 5’9 (1.75 m), 6-6-0, 6 KO since 2015, Foxfire Boxing
Before: “I won’t try to hide it: this has been very disappointing year for me>” Sophie Turner says frankly. I was 4-1 in 2017. I felt I was on my way. 2018 has been so different. I lost all my fights so far this year 0-3 in the FCBA and even going to the UK didn’t help—I lost there too. We did notice that all most opponents this year have been models: Alessandra Ambrosio, Courtney Tailor, Kendall Jenner, and Emily DiDonato. I have no idea why I find them so hard to handle this year. I figured a change in the type of opponent might help. So we called Dakota. She’s an actress. She actually came into the FCVBA the same year as I did and she’s had about as many fights. She seemed like a logical opponent so she has signed to fight me. I am truly looking forward to this!”
Dakota Johnson looks up from the table and says cynically: “I’ll just bet you are. You think you can finally get aw in in 2018 because you think I am the perfect jobber for you.”
Sophie reddens: “I never said that.”
“You didn’t have to—anyone can check my record and see I haven’t had a win all year myself. In fact, I haven’t had a win in two years. Don’t come crying to me about losing streaks. I’ve got one and I hate it! I hate you for trying to take advantage and get a win before your managers wise up and kick you out the door!” Dakota says, her voice full of pain and anger.
“I know you are hurting, but kindly do not take it out on me.” Sophie snaps. “I would think you’d be grateful for the chance to fight.”
“Not when you did it because I’m easy pickings. OK, my record doesn’t show it—but I am fighting my heart out in the ring. I refuse to give up on myself. I am going to beat you down, Sophie Turner! Be prepared to lose again!”
“What I want in this fight is to beat a good, well-motivated fighter who is not just in it for the appearance money. You appear to have a great deal on the line. I do as well. May the better woman win!” Sophie said.
“Which will be me!” Dakota insisted.
For the fight, Sophie Turner chose a snowy white bikini with black trim, She had black boots and gloves with black laces. Her red hair was pulled back in a tight battle braid. Dakota Johnson had chosen a sunny yellow string bikini with yellow gloves (black laces) and black boots aaaa9yellow laces). Her hair was brunette and piled in a top knot on the crown of her head.
“Don’t you look daring,” Sophie Turner commented. “you afraid you wouldn’t be noticed?”
“I didn’t want to take the chance. Besides, when you wear so little you are literally putting yourself completely on the line, Everyone can see I am ‘all in’ on this fight.”
“I am sure they can at least see that,” Sophie said with a smile. “I would wish you luck Dakota, but I am not a hypocrite. I am still here to beat you.”
“Fair enough, I intend to beat you and I make no bones about it,: Dakota replied with a smile of her own.
Then the referee cleared his throat: “No one will be winning this fight unless we can get through my instructions. Kindly pay attention and soon enough one of you will likely be happy.”
Dakota and Sophie could not help but smile and assure the official they would “be good!” They hen listened attentatively, Tap their gloves as instructed and went to their corners. The bell rang.
R1: Sophie and Dakota move out warily to commence the fight. They start exchange punches at mid –ring, but these seem more like probes. They circle and test. Then Dakota edges forward and goes for Sophie’s head with quick clouts. Sophie ducks down and fires back straight counters that smack Dakota hard to the mouth and nose. Dakota ducking back, then circling and then coming in again. Now the punching zooms up as rapid-fire punches strike home at breasts and then down to the midsection. Sophie and Dakota pushing hard with their punches trying to drive the other back, but neither wants to give way. Very nice to see these beauties as they strain to get more power behind their gloves. Then they shift to the head as they exchange cracking shots to the jaw. Both answrring the other punch for punch. Then Sophie gets a nice hard one into Dakota’s solar plexus. Dakota gasps and freezes for a moment. Sophie brings rights and lefts to the jaw and Dakota now goes reeling back. Sophie advancing, but Dakota stabilizes and a shot to the nose stalls Sophie’s follow-up. Sophie circling as she regroups, but then the bell sounds. Close round goes to Sophie Turner.
R2: Dakota comes out punching hard as the new round opens and Sophie Turner tries to close in on her. Sophie gets clipped hard to the chin and then a Dakota Johnson right catches Sophie in squarely in the right eye. Sophie retreated as Dakota pressed in, trying to land against her jaw and the side of her head. Sophie fought back with her jab, smacking Dakota hard in the face and then she started forward with a burst punching to the yellow bikini top. Dakota responded with digging hooks to the belly that stalled Sophie’s advance and tipped her forward. Then Dakota gave Sophie’s white bikini top answering barrage of vengeful punching. Sophie caught Dakota with a hard right to the jaw and Dakota had to fall back. Then the two came at each other almost simultaneously and there was fierce toe to toe action mostly in breast and ribcage pounding. Then Dakota shook Sophie with a burst of hooks to the belly and as Sophie’s high guard faltered, she caught her with a strong right to the cheekbone. Sophie dropped back to regroup, but Dakota stayed with her. Sophie then rallied and the two traded bouncing shots to the sides of the head until the bell rang. Dakota Johnson was able to edge out Sophie Turner to win a hard-fought round.
R3: Sophie Turner’s right eye is now rimmed with discolored and swollen flesh. She has a big swollen area on her right cheekbone as well. Foxfire corner trying to repair the damage. Sophie conferring with trainer Rachel Nichols. Meanwhile Dakota Johnson looking fierce and determined. Bell rings and the two fighters hasten towards each other. The smaller Dakota Johnson comes in hunched up and then shoots out of her crouch to bring a beautiful right uppie crashing into Sophie Turner as the redhead is unleashing a driving right. Dakota turns her shoulder to absorb the Turner right and she sees Sophie stumbling backwards with a blank look on her face. Dakota quickly follows up, trying to cut Sophie down with more shots to the head, but Sophie has her gloves up tight around her head. Dakota then goes to the midsection with raking rights and lefts before these turn into hooks. Sophie trying to organize her defenses as she is retreating, but finds it hard as Dakota attacks with waves of leather. Sophie able to circle away from Dakota and finally get her jab working properly by the time Dakota catches up with her. Dakota only briefly stalled by the jab, she comes back and works Sophie hard to the ribs and stomach. Sophie finally just covering up to protect her head and taking it to the body as the round ends. Dakota Johnson scores a wide win in this round!
R4: Dakota looking all fired up during the break, She can’t wait to get back at Sophie. Sophie in deep conversation with Rachel Nichols. Bell sounds and Sophie Turner comes out swinging as the 4th Round begins. Dakota had been coming in low and hard, but Sophie brings counter punches raining down on Dakota’s head when she tries to come rising up out of the crouch. Dakota suddenly made wobbly as Sophie batters her back with a series of rocking rights and lefts to the head as Dakota can’t seem to block the incoming. Dakota struggling to come forward and attack, but her punches are being evaded or blocked. Before Dakota can adjust her tactics, Sophie finds her opponent’s chin, Dakota takes a right/left combo to the chin and then another. Dakota shudders and tries to turn away , but Sophie blasts in a right to the jaw and then a right to the head. Dakota just collapses like a puppet whose strings have been cut, She sprawls on her face, gloves near her head and her cheek resting against the canvas as she wetly sucks in air. Sophie strides quickly to the neutral corner and then watches anxiously as the referee starts to count. Dakota raises her head and looks around with a forlorn expression and then drops back to the canvas sleeping fitfully as the count reaches:
“…TEN!...YER OUT!”
THE WINNER SOPHIE TURNER DEFEATS DAKOTA JOHNSON KO4!
After: “I am certainly glad I won this,” a relieved Sophie Turner tells press in the ring . “Dakota had me worried after the 2nd and 3rd Rounds, but my trainer Rachel Nichols kept me calm. She told me take the fight away from Dakota and that’s just what I did. I wasn’t sure I could knock her at that point, but I saw my chance and punched as hard as I could. The lights when out for her and that was pretty much it. I hope she’s all right. She’s definitely got talent, but she needs the direction serious management can give her. I don’t suppose this will help her get management like that, but I think she deserves it.”
Dakota Johnson shows admirable stoicism when facing the press after she had been revived and pronounced fit for future action, but there is still pain in her voice.
“I suppose I should be used to losing by now, but I am not. I know I can win, but I still can’t seem to pull it off. Sophie is good, but she was beatable and I was the one who got beaten. I gave her a black eye, but she got the win. No, I am nowhere near even considering quitting. I don’t know what the answer is to turn my boxing career around, but you can be sure I look for it every day. Now thank you and good night.”
Sophie Turner emerges from the fight with a badly needed win on her 2018 record. Dakota Johnson did give her some serious problem especially in R3, but she came back strongly in R4 to win it. Another discouraging loss for Dakota Johnson. Again she showed she has the punching power to trouble an opponent, but can’t seem to find the key to victory. Sophie now has to prove she can work her way up the division and put 2018 behind her. For Dakota Johnson, she must continue the struggle the way to win if she ever to turn her struggling boxing career around. |
