Romee Strijd vs Lais Ribeiro
(Lioness Club associate vs FCBA Independent)
(5-3, 5 KO vs 0-2)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: When a welterweight gets knocked out in three rounds by a bantam/light tweener it's time for some extended soul-searching. This is exactly what happened to Lais Ribeiro so it's no wonder she enters tonight's contest versus Romee Strijd as a huge underdog. Meanwhile the Dutch lingerie model flashed elite skills when she secured back-to-back KO1 wins over Brooke Hogan and Olga Kurylenko last season and is thought to be on the brink of signing a full-time contract with the Lioness Club stable where hitherto welterweight leader Alex Curran no longer provides the security blanket. A potential rivalry with compatriot Doutzen Kroes also looms large in the foreseeable future IF Romee can dispatch Ribeiro tonight!

Romee Strijd wears an orange bikini set and blue gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Lais Ribeiro wears a yellow X-shaped monokini and green gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Lais tries to catch the blonde off guard early and jumps into a high-octane jabbing route that raises many eye-brows around the arena. However any underdog free agent needs to take advantage of such a high-profile opportunity like this even though she allows Strijd to showcase some mobility talent instead. The blonde Lioness hopeful dekes away from the spirited alas lacklustre Brazilian effort but doesn't blow her fuse by any means as scripted by coach Claudia Schiffer who supports the associate's bid in the corner tonight. Romee is still many moons removed from being called a veteran of this sport but she makes Lais look rather desperate and awfully ineffective regardless of the distance covered. Lais tries to land something other than a rare single punch on the guard but struggles to match the blonde's mobility and doesn't look all that satisfied with her efforts at the bell.

Round 2:
Romee believes she can punch Lais' lights out with a random offensive burst and coach Schiffer allows her to channel that route; she jumps at the Brazilian and thumps her across the boobs which immediately drops the brunette on her heels before a stinging left hook catches her on the jaw. Ugh! Ribeiro groans in pain and wobbles into an uppercut double that destroys her guard on the spot before another left hook tears a bloody patch over the right eye. Huh! Too easy! Lais remains glued on her heels and gets whacked with a quick overhand on the nose; she tries to leap to the side but Strijd is faster and delivers a brutal hook on the jaw one more time TO DROP THE HAPLESS BRAZILIAN ONTO HER KNEES!!! How about that! Lais bends forward and leans her head against the canvas while the merciless count simply passes her by! What a lousy effort from the kneeling brunette! KO2 Romee Strijd!!!

AFTER: A shockingly quick way to end this fight as Romee topples one lousy opponent with her first meaningful drive of the night! Is Lais that BAD or actually Romee that GOOD? The pundits are split in their opinions but coach Schiffer has made her mind up already and she doesn't need to call the stable owner to confirm it. This was written on paper long before tonight and it's kinda bad news for Alex Curran who gets relegated into understudy status as Lioness Club introduces it's newest welterweight member! Romee smiles at Claudia before sharing a long hug with her: "So, that's your Christmas present, aye? I hope Doutzen Kroes is out there watching me WIN so we can finally meet in the ring and settle our little dispute. She is a big name BUT I'm the future and it's official! Since Miranda Kerr couldn't become the first BBU/FCBA lineal champion, it's my goal now! Wish me luck!"

Of course Brooklyn Decker and Cassidy Freeman remain the two welterweights on the LCA side of the gym but neither of them targets any BBU future which leaves the door wide open for Strijd to conquer both boxing leagues in her own right. Watch out for this blonde talent in 2019!

Official result: Romee Strijd def. Lais Ribeiro KO2.
