BEFORE:

"Gemma's a girl I've always respected," says Jill with a nod. "Obviously, we're 1-1 career, so, there's real question about which of us is the better fighter. I plan to ANSWER that question tonight."

"Jill's a girl some folks underrate," says Gemma. "She's an excellent boxer and she has sneaky power. She's a real challenge. And, I'm UP for it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' by Edvard Grieg, and here comes Bazz beauty Jill Wagner!"

Cassie: "Jilly WAGS! Jilly WAGS! Jilly WAGS!"

Tess: "And, as Jill mentioned, these two have fought twice before with both grabbing one win, so, tonight it's a very interesting rubber match."

O'Dell: "Wagner into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing that zebra-striped number, and, like the typical Bazz girl, she's clearly in tremendous shape..."

Cassie: "I keep inviting you to come and run the HILL, Jenny..."

O'Dell: "And, I keep REMINDING you that I'm retired. Meanwhile, that's 'London Calling' by the Clash you hear behind us, and that can only mean that 'The Gravesend Gladiator' herself, Gemma Arterton, is on her way to the ring."

Tess: "And, Gemma certainly looking to get the job done tonight, not just to grab the career lead over Wagner, but also because she's currently, according to the latest BWO rankings, the THIRD-ranked Front Street lightweight, just ahead of Taylor Hill and WELL behind Katy Perry and Serinda Swan..."

McCarthy: "Stop SHILLING for your boyfriend and his rag of a magazine, Walmart!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Gemma into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that violet two-piece we've seen before and looking plenty good in it. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Gemma. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Two overrated fighters, but I like Arterton."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "You know I'm picking Jill!"

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Gems wants to work at range early, and Jill's fine with that. Wagner likes to box and move, and she's plenty good at it, as one of the most athletic girls in the division. Arterton working the feet, trying to square while Jill plays angles and works that left jab."

Cassie: "Like you said, Jenny, Jill's an excellent boxer, and you're seeing that right now, as she's out-boxing a former Unified Lightweight Champion."

O'Dell: "She is at that, but not by a whole lot, frankly. Arterton holding her own on these terms, able to get square and get some leather on in spots. Jill, though, slipping, dipping, angling, making things tough on the younger brunette all while getting her own offense on target to build a small lead."

Tess: "And, Wagner's hands still plenty fast, Jenny..."

O'Dell: "No question about that. Jill able to get the hands out and back very, very quickly, Coming down the stretch in a competitive first round. Good combination by Jill. Best flurry of the fight so far. Wagner now legs away, circling Gemma, running clock. Smart stuff. She'll leg away the final seconds and there's the bell. Close, but Jill."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Right back to ranged boxing to start the second, and, again, Wagner all movement. Jill just very, very hard to line up. Arterton making the effort, though, looking to match footwork, get her offense going. But, again, Wagner making that very, very difficult on the British beauty."

Cassie: "Both girls very patient right now, very sound, showing good defenses."

O'Dell: "That's what happens when you get two good, veteran fighters together. About half way through the second. Wagner lands a flurry, then circles. Arterton turning with, looking to get that heavy left jab on target and work from there, but Jill making that very, very hard to...DOWN GOES WAGNER!"

Tess: "WHAT A RIGHT HAND!"

O'Dell: "Arterton catches Jill flush with a straight right and Wagner dropped to her back. Gemma quickly to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Jill to her belly at six. To hands and knees at seven. Wagner crawling to the ropes at eight. Trying to pull herself up. Nine. TEN! She can't get there! Jill still climbing the ropes as the count passes her by and your winner by KO2 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

McCarthy: "Another lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gems, that fight turned on a dime..."

Gemma (nodding): "Yeah, no question. I just caught her a good one. It was pretty close to right on the button. And, she still almost got up. That's the kind of fighter she is."

Tess: "Not a bad way to end 2018. What's the plan for 2019?"

Gemma: "You KNOW the plan. It's to get those lightweight belts back."
