Selena Gomez vs Britt Robertson

BEFORE: "I'm not going back to the drawing board! Sarah Carter is a Hall of Famer after all so why would anyone think that loss affects my overall status?", Selena Gomez still hasn't gotten over the bad press following last month's FNL stumble against a woman 12 years her senior and the choice of otherwise unheralded Britt Robertson as her next opponent raises more questions than neccessary in the process.
Robertson hasn't fought more than twice per season during her 6-year FCBA career and her record speaks for itself but she scored a quality win over Victoria Justice twelve months ago so she might not be your sacrificial lamb here tonight. The pressure is on Gomez to perform big time and quite franky Britt knows it as well.
Selena Gomez wears a turquoise bikini set & black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Britt Robertson wears a red crop top, black hotpants & red gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Britt catches some early action as she powers through the brunette's guard and snaps her head back repeatedly which clearly rattles the favored girl who stumbles backwards and struggles to embrace the following attack. Britt lands several crisp shots from point-blank range but lacks the core strenght to put Gomez into serious trouble and lets the reeling foe escape courtesy of some superior footwork down the stretch. She tries to catch Selena with a spirited aerial effort but just can't find that one series to really dent a hole in the brunette's stock which leads into a lenghty clinching struggle when the Lioness fighter finally applies the breaks to end this woeful round on her behalf.
Round 2:
Britt is supposed to be the glorified creampuff at best but she keeps beating Selena for the punch early in the second again and finds a drilling hook on the jaw that rattles the brunette into spasms before a crisp hook on the boobs folds her into a nasty uppercut rally that sends the Latina girl reeling onto the ropes thereafter. Robertson makes the most of this early opportunity and pounds away at the brunette's midsection while also landing a quick hook on the temple that bends a yelping Gomez against the turnbuckle; the sluggish Latina tries to respond over the top but only cuts thin air and gets drilled with another body shot that folds her into another desperate clinching survival which the crowd doesn't like at all!
Round 3:
Blonde girl on the move and Selena is getting picked off from both flanks in the center of the ring until she accepts the slugging route and hits a nasty cross on the nose that slows Britt down for a while. Both girls push & shove each other thereafter as the bout heads south and Selena almost wrestles the blonde to the ground which earns her more jeers from the audience. Britt keeps coming back at her in another slugging exchange but these girls really lack a proper power supply and one can only wonder what's going on with Gomez who looks nothing like an outside contender tonight with Britt piercing her ribcage repeatedly to close out another difficult round for the LCA cutie.
Round 4:
There's no stopping the blonde during the initial tangle again but as she scythes Selena across the mouth, she eats a nasty hook on the left brow ridge and wobbles to her heels which enables the hitherto struggling girl to whack her up the chimney. Ugh! Britt gets clocked on the jaw and loses real estate while Gomez appears to finally channel that Latin temper and smacks the reeling foe upstairs until she traps her along the ropes. Britt becomes too defensive and disappears behind a tight earmuff but that only fuels Selena's attacks which split the blonde's guard and send her braid flying around like crazy. She's unable to break free from the onslaught and sinks on jelly knees come the bell which truly exposes her free agency fate according to some pundits.
Round 5:
Robertson tries to bounce back from that poor showing in the fourth but eats more pesky hooks over the top and loses the initial exchange while Gomez crashes into her tummy with a sudden switch downstairs. The brunette barks in her efforts and almost leans on the blonde too much causing her to wobble onto her heels following a jug-to-jug bump. A swift uppercut on the jaw sends Britt tripping onto the ropes and she just misses the escape route as Selena NAILS her on the lips which begin to swell after a while. That shot folds the free agent into more earmuff defense and Selena has a field day thumping her just above the waist and piercing the exposed ribcage for remainder of the round.
Round 6:
Britt tries to find some respite in mid-range and avoid the aggressive burst from the onset but Selena has other ideas and tracks her down into a punishing slugging exchange that adds more swelling on the blonde's lips in the process. Both girls duke it out back & forth until Britt gets hammered on the nose and cries out in pain; she slumps into a vicious uppercut on the jaw and cries out again just as Gomez delivers a home run with a right hook on the temple. DOWN GOES ROBERTSON!!! The pesky blonde crashes onto her side and goes limp in a hurry as she simply can't embrace that dizzy feeling. The count passes her by too quickly as she only sits down on her heels at nine and it's all over! KO6 Selena Gomez in come-from-behind fashion!!!
AFTER: Another case of a promising free agent who simply struggles to take a proper punch! Britt looked so much better when she bullied Gomez around but found no answers when she got hit instead! That's like a broken record in the ruthless shark pool of free agents and even those tears won't save Robertson's pride tonight. She cannot believe she lost this battle when she had Selena rattled after three rounds!
Meanwhile Selena looks upset even in victory and it's hard to blame her. The artistic impression was mediocre at best but it doesn't justify a dragging by the hair attempt she tries to remove Britt from the ring. Both girls get down there into some rolling action as even a sobbing loser does have some pride left after all. It eventually ends when LCA coach Eva Mendes drags Selena off by the hair herself to leave Britt running off iinto the locker room few moments later.
