JANEL PARRISH VS MILANA VAYNTRUB
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Janel: 32 YO, 5’2 (1.57 m), 1-9-0 since 2014, Pretty Little Punchers Inc.
Milana: 32 YO, 5’ (1.60 m), FCBA Debut, Global Boxing Syndicate
Before: “I will admit that my time at the PLP has been disappointing,” says Janel Parrish at the pre-fight presser. “1-9 and I didn’t have a single FCBA fight last year. I spent more time as an Assistant Office Manager than I did in the ring. Then Milana came along and I grabbed the opportunity for one more shot at a win. I have had to work really hard to be ready for this. I am really really motivated for this fight.”
Milana Vayntrub smiles, the former AT&T commercial star is quietly confident: “I can hear the desperation in Janel’s voice. It must be tough to have never gotten that second win, but I need my first win. I never thought I would get a shot at the FCBA until GBS came along. Nobody could be more motivated than I am—nobody!” (She flashes a defiant look at Janel who just smiles back insincerely.)
Fight Night finds Janel coming to the ring with trainer Nia Peeples. Janel is in a white faux-lingerie bikini with black gloves and boots (white laces). Her dark hair is in a ponytail with a white scrunchy holding it in place. Milana comes to the ring with GBS trainer Daisy Fuentes. She is wearing a faux black lingerie one piece with lace term, (looks like a teddy) with black boots and gloves (black laces). Her dark hair is in a battle braid down her back.
The two fighters meet in the center of the ring. The ring instructions proceed smoothly. Quick tap of the gloves and the pair are quickly back to their corners. The bell rings…
R1: Janel out quickly and goes for the head in a clear effort to shake up the rookie early. Milana smacked hard on the cheekbones, but jabs back strongly. Janel takes a shot to the mouth and then a whack to the bridge of the nose. Both fighters circle warily and then move back in some shots to the body. Good movement on Milana’s part as she is making herself an elusive target. She is also developing some good hooks to the belly and adds some stinging rights and lefts to the juggs that have Janel moving back. Milana pursuing and Janel comes back at her again. Flurry of shots to the head connect, but Janel gets a right to the side of Milana’s head that puts a stagger in her step and she backs off just as bell rings, It’s a close one but Janel wins the opening round
R2: Milana showing aggression early as she moves in quickly on Janel and snaps out quick rights and lefts to the chin. Janel’s head swiveled first one way and then the other. Janel staggered back with her gloves up around her face. Milana now able to fire away freely into Janel’s body until she doubled forward. Milana then tried to bring punches up into Janel’s overhanging face, but Janel’s tightly held gloves protected her face. Milana then went after the sides of Janel’s head, bouncing her rights and lefts off as Janel tried to back away. Late in the round Janel pushing out some jabs to slow Milana up, but the GBS fighter keeps the pressure on to the bell. Milana wins this round wide.
R3: Milana hoping to pick up where she left off went straight for Janel at the bell, but the PLP fighter came out swinging, Her first shot banged off the side of Milana’s head and brought her to a stumbling halt. Now Janel clipped Milana on the chin a with short right and she was knocked back on her heels. Now it is was Milana’s to try to back away from a hard-charging opponent. Janel was working Milana to the belly, then up to the ribs and finally she worked over Milana’s impressive breast line., Milana recovered enough to drive a flurry of jabs into Janel’s face to stall her attack., The two then circled around each other. Janel was a little smoother at this and caught Milana off-balance as she cracked a right to the cheekbone that sent Milana reeling away. Janel had to scramble to get back in front of the wobbly, but she had barely started to punch when time ran out. Milana and Janel went to their corners. Janel had come back this round to win it wide for her side of the cards.
R4: Milana seemed determined to regain the ground she had lost in the previous round. She attacked hard to Janel’s body as soon as she was in punching range, Janel seemed equally determined to lose no ground. Janel quickly opened up a punching attack of her own on Milana’s body, The two of them went at it elbows churning in and out like piston rods as they smote belly, rib cages and then up into their breasts, They shifted their ground, but the punches kept slamming in. Milana braced her feet and put extra power into digging hooks deep into Janel’s belly, Janel began to falter and back up behind a defensive jab. The jab held off Milana to the bell, but the newcomer managed to win the round by a narrow margin.
R5: The action picked up as the new round began, Milana tried to get in close to resume her body attack but Janel was keeping her back with longer range shots to the head, Milana kept trying to get at the elusive Janel but she could not land her punches with enough power to slow Janel down. Milana’s frustration led her into a lunging attack, swinging for Janel’s head, but Janel neatly ducked under the right and brought her own uppercut crashing into Milana’s chin, Milana’s head snapped back and she started to collapse forward. Janel added a second insurance uppercut to the chin and Milana sagged into her arms. Janel coolly stepped back and let Milana land face-down on the canvas, Janel had a big smile on her face as she trotted to the neutral corner. The referee was counting. Milana stirred and raised her head to look around in foggy bewilderment, but that was the best she could manage.
“EIGHT!...NINE…TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”
THE WINNER: JANEL PARRISH DEFEATS MILANA VAYNTRUB KO5.
After: “I didn’t know it would take 5 years to get my second FCBA win, but it sure feels good to have it at last,” Janel Parrish told reporters in the ring. “Milana? I would say she has talent and she can get power into those punches, but fortunately I was able to use my mobility to lessen that. Then I just tried to get her frustrated and make a mistake in the 5th and it worked. My next fight? To be honest, I will have to think seriously about that. This was encouraging, but I need to find out if I am good enough to be a serious contender, If not, I have an office I could run and I could live with that. We’ll just have to see what happens.”
As for Milana, she was carefully helped from the ring by trainer Daisy Fuentes and her staff. No word yet on how they feel about the fight, though it is never a good thing for a newcomer to lose her first fight. Meanwhile, Janel Parrish has a ray of hope in her career, but, as she herself said, we will have to see if that leads her anywhere. |
