Nicole Scherzinger vs Candice Patton (Lioness Club of America vs FCBA Independent) (28-26, 22 KO vs 5-5, 5 KO) Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Nicole Scherzinger finds herself in an awkward spot entering this contest; she's widely regarded as the most vulnerable member of the LCA stable but doesn't really have a parachute available to avoid the looming rankings' disaster. Eva Mendes took away the coaching safety valve and Nicole's not exactly young enough to spark interest on the open market: "The only way is up! I mean, look at how my fellow Front Street mates ended up once they got sacked. Amanda Seyfried is MIA for years and nobody really cares about Daniela Ruah either. I'm soooo much better than Kat Graham and her FNL punchbag status! I still have the backing of the ownership though and Tess Valmore pondering whether I'm on the bubble was like the BEST news this season! Because Mr. V always throws a curveball at these guys from Nashville! So Tess, thanks for the shout because you might have saved my career even though you want me OUT of here!"
There's so much attention focused on Nicole's LCA status one could almost overlook Candice Patton who was rumoured to join the very same stable UNTIL Nina Dobrev became available. "My plan is very simple", she tells Erin Andrews during her warm-up routine, "There's no way Nina survives Demi Lovato tonight and once I knock this old Hawaiian slapper out then I'm coming straight for that Bulgarian bytch! She stole it from me! Eva Mendes told me she's ready to take over as the Lioness trainer and I was ***this*** close of being the face of the division over here. Someone's gonna pay for this cruel injustice! And it's ALL Nina's fault!"
Nicole Scherzinger wears a white bikini set & red gloves. Long black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Candice Patton wears a red cut-off crop top, black hotpants & white gloves. Long black hair wrapped in a thick bun at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1: Everyone inside the arena kinda expected Candice to tee off with some big swings yet it's Nicole of all people who gets caught napping! She gets drilled with a nasty hook on the mouth and sinks on her heels which only allows the actress to cash in with more heavy juice! Candice settles down for the head-hunting score and clobbers the stunned singer outright which sends Eva Mendes into panic mode back in the LCA corner. But Nicole just can't fend off the punishment and ends up butt-in-ropes as Patton lands more crisp strikes and outworks the older brunette wholesale. Nicky tries to clinch her but still eats more misery downstairs as Candice gets vocal in pounding away at the easy target. Shockingly one-sided opener here with Scherzinger looking all out of sorts and lucky to stay on her feet.
Round 2: Patton in buzzsaw mode again but Scherzinger shows some of that former elite mobility and avoids another disaster; she keeps the charging actress at bay with a decent jabbing run but it's basically checkdown tactics in order to slow the free agent down. It works well in the opening minute and Candice gets a little careless down the stretch which enables Nicky to score more single punches that bring respect to her fighting attire. Patton almost wants to nuke the Hawaiian veteran with a one-punch slam dunk but it's a bad idea and more punishment is required with Nicole's nifty back & forth dance. Candice looks mucho upset at the bell and refuses to sit down during the interval.
Round 3: Nicole has plenty of energy left to deploy another duck & weave show and that's a good plan if you can guarantee Patton running out of steam first! The hectic pursuit brings little revenue but it doesn't make the 'Flash' actress think better off it... yet. She hassles Nicky around the ring and accepts the penalty of a single strike here and there; it's nowhere near enough for Scherzinger to turn the tables on the overall performance and drags her into a lenghty jabbing exchange along the ropes come the two-minute mark. Patton drives her head into the singer's chin to warrant a brief stoppage but eats a stunning hook on the jaw herself that allows Nicole to escape the trap. In fact the Hawaiian babe openly taunts the actress thereafter as if she runs the show here; the crowd finds it more than amusing but Candice avoids losing her composure and responds with a vocal tirade of her own. This is heading into WWE territory now so maybe the fans are better off with the bell...
Round 4: Candice unloads another head-hunting barrage after matching Nicky's footwork during the initial exchange. She whacks the singer on both temples but then drills the chin outright and whips the fellow brunette onto her heels. Ugh! Nicole gurgles in pain but tries to swing back from her heels only to miss the target and soak up another cross double. Candice settles right on the money and destroys the singer's high guard while landing one hook on the chin after another! Huh! Scherzinger's fancy ponytail goes for a wild ride as her head snaps back repeatedly and glues the owner to the spot... Candice tears a bloody patch on the right cheek as well and batters the wilting foe into stupor before a quick uppercut lifts Nicole off the canvas and SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN INTO A HEAP!!! Hello, sunrise! Nicky manages to rise onto all fours at six but spits her gumshield out and bends her head against the boards moments later.. she's unable to recover from this rough treatment and gets promptly counted out! KO4 Candice Patton!!!
AFTER: "How about THAT, bytch! Not good enough to replace ur sorry ass!!??", Candice is still furious over the roster snub but there's nothing she can do about it at this stage anymore... nothing except going after Nina Dobrev, the original sinner!
Meanwhile a visibly frustrated Eva Mendes makes her way onto the ring and admits Candice would have probably replaced Nicole Scherzinger on the LCA as of tonight (pending the result which has indeed gone the free agent's way) but that option became moot when Tess Valmore run her mouth the other day. That KILLED any hope Candice might have had. I'm sorry but the stable owner will NEVER follow Ms Valmore's advice when it comes to management. So Candice got officially screwed twice now... first by Nina Dobrev... and then by Tess Valmore! Let that sink in, folks!
Is there even enough space available for Candice's victory speech? "I still want that Bulgarian bytch! Let's go, Demi! F### her up so I can take her out next!"
Ms Mendes declines to comment whether Patton's wish will be granted... so the plot thickens... to be continued!
