Georgia Mae Gibbs versus Taylor Hill (II)

Georgia:
(23, 5’10, 12:4 FCBA, VIXENs)

Taylor:
(23, 5’10, 10:3 FCBA, Front Street)

BEFORE:
“I haven’t forgotten our IRONWOMAN contest last year. Obviously, I’m still sore about the result,” Georgia flipping her blonde hair and appearing to appear nonchalant about it. “I promised Taylor we would have our rematch, so here we are. We’ve both had some wins and losses since our debuts, and I think I’m in much better shape to have another go at her. This time, obviously, I’m gonna win.”

Taylor Hill smirking from across the table, holding all the cards in this new engagement. She’s come a long way since her debut in that VIX scouting card against Natalie Roser, since then going from victory to victory under new management at Front Street.

“I’m just happy to be here and representing my new stable,” Taylor saying with a nod. “I did promise Georgia another shot at redemption, so here I am, keeping my word. It’s almost cute to see her so eager to avenge that loss back when we were still rookies. Well, I wish her the best of luck, though I don’t think the outcome will be any different.”

Face-to-face stare down at the podium is worthy of the admission price on its own, with both ladies meeting each other’s eyes with steady glares, hands on hips and looking supremely confident about coming out on top of this engagement. They’re equal in almost every regard as well: same age, similar height and built.
Later, in the ring, Georgia Gibbs going for a sky-blue bikini and white gloves, channeling that malibu vibe, whereas Taylor looking slick in a maroon bra and panties set, black gloves. Referee gives the go ahead with a wave and HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Georgia’s eager to start this fight, flying forward with both arms tucked into her chest, then shooting that right hand towards Taylor’s head almost immediately after the bell rings. But Hill not caught of guard that easy, parrying her jabs or absorbing on her arms. Soon enough though, she lets out a grunt as Georgia's errant hands make it past her defences, hard and fast scoring off her face and chin. Gibbs not leaving anything to chance this time round, keeping up the pressure on her rival for the first two minutes and pushing Hill around. Hill managing to establish some distance later in the third, evading the rest of her punches, before scoring back with long jabs of her own into the blonde's face. But it's too little, too late, as Gibbs takes the round wide when the bell finally rings.

ROUND 2:
If the Aussie blonde can keep up this kind of pressure, she will certainly sail to a victory. Hill however a ferocious defender, dealing with Georgia's aggression well enough in the second round. The Vixen rushing forward and firing off lefts and rights, with most of her gloves hitting Hill in the body in the rapid-fire exchange. Slowly, but surely, Taylor hits back with her vaunted power, coming in between Georgia's attacks and bashing in the blonde’s cheek. Gibbs doesn't start hurting until the third minute, letting out another loud grunt from her lips as her face bunched up from a Hill right cross that sails in through and through. Message received loud and clear for Gibbs, who begins her retreats and circles, hiding behind her two gloves now. She still took this round for herself, but the question of whether she can sustain her momentum is now in doubt.

ROUND 3:
Taylor's turn to shine as she marches forward, suddenly dismantling all of the blonde's lead in one fell swoop. Georgia still stubborn and growling as she tries to meet her aggression with her own brand of it, but Hill's freshness outmatches her slow swings, landing painful hooks of her own and rotating the blonde’s head to the sides, or dull thuds slamming into her tummy as she pushes Gibbs back. Simply put, Georgia in trouble but refusing to admit it, keeps trying to power her way forward with fists buried into Hill’s body, but overall taking more abuse than receiving. A final lunging hook rattles Georgia on the side of her head, sending her spinning off to the ropes. Crowd on their feet, expecting a rout, but Gibbs is saved by the early bell ending these three minutes of hell for the Vixen.

ROUND 4:
That's what happens when one tries to brawl with a Welterweight, with Taylor clearly gunning for bigger girls these days,2 leaving Georgia eating her dust down on earth. Gibbs still not fully convinced of her opponent's power, however, at least not until the end of the first minute when another right cross almost blows her head off, Taylor planting her feet and unleashing out of nowhere. Gibbs pushed backwards from the sheer force as Taylor brings out the big artillery and unloads down the middle, ploughing fists through the midsection and almost threatening to break through the forearms. But Gibbs hitting back in the second half, stinging the Front Street starlet's face with jabs galore. Taylor grunting for the first time in a long while, as the vast quantity of jabs fills her peripheral vision, making it difficult to swivel a finishing hook into the Vixen's face. Round ends and it's a close one that goes to Hill, with Georgia cauterising the wound and hopefully stopping the bleeding for good.

ROUND 5:
Wild brawl in the middle of the ring as girls get personal and dirty. Georgia starts off giving the impression she's gonna fight smart when she springs a jab flurry towards Taylor's face, only to wade in all the way and blast the big bombs off her guard. Gibbs like a madwoman swinging away low as well at the brunette's tummy, hooks digging in and swiping away at her midsection below, before her own head gets turned to one side when Taylor recovers and belts her across the face easily. Girls go ballistic on each other for a good thirty seconds, close quarters fisticuffs across the cheek, throwing their upper torsos about, then chops to the belly doubling each other over in pain. It’s all-out warfare in there as they eventually end up in a mutual clinch, wrestling forwards and backwards forehead to forehead, arms snaking around the waistline or the back of neck for leverage, whilst gloves dig into the body or chest whenever an opportunity arises. Bell ends and it certainly feels like these two have unfinished business with one another!

ROUND 6:
Not sure what Gibbs might be thinking about standing and banging with someone like Taylor, but the strategy appears to be working for now. She picks Hill off from a distance this time, thrusting lefts and rights into her nose and lips as she circles her with momentum. Taylor still a little shocked from the previous round’s brawl, takes a couple of shots to her face as she’s still recovering. Some swings back in Gibbs’ direction more or less missing or banging into the blonde’s raised guard just in time. Hill makes more progress in the middle minute, catching Georgia with a one-two straight fists to the tummy, which stop her in her tracks just enough for another BLAST across the chest that leaves the Vixen squealing in outrage and retreating further. Before Gibbs can roar back in revenge, these three minutes are over.

ROUND 7:
It’s the last quarter of this fight and these girls are dead-locked and even. We aren’t even sure where Georgia is getting these energy reserves from, but boy is she moving and shooting even in the seventh. Taylor looks like a stationary object by comparison, twisting her body to face the blurring vision of Georgia’s blonde hair whipping about in the wind. Constant strikes sail in and pester Hill to the face and body, and it looks like Georgia might just take this one for herself once more... that is… until Hill squares her hips and unleashes a right hook that BARRELS into the middle of Georgia’s face! Good LORD - the Front Street Welter must have timed that one shot well enough, with her entire glove simply disappearing into Gibbs’ face with a loud UGGGHHH!!

All it takes thereafter is a follow-up blast across her dazed chin and DOWN GEORGIA GOES, completely flattened out on her back and blinking rapidly at the bright lights above, shocked and in dismay! KNOCKDOWN for Taylor Hill, and a thorough one at that - referee counting Gibbs all the way up to 10, and she barely makes it off her back! It’s over!

Official Decision: Taylor Hill defeats Georgia Mae Gibbs via KO7!

AFTER:
Taylor with a big but modest grin as she celebrates with one hand in the air, parading around Georgia flat on her back in the middle of the ring. No post-fight shenanigans here, of course, but Hill doesn’t need to, not after this dominant performance that settles this rivalry once and for all.

“I knew this would happen sooner or later. She just can’t keep up with me. I put Georgia in her place tonight, and I fully intend on keeping her there for a long time.”

Later, Gibbs getting consoled by trainer Steve Boyd, eyes still fluttering as she fights back tears, shakes the stinging pain from her reddened cheeks. She came into this fight with all the tools at her disposal, and still didn’t manage to come out on top. We can only wish her the best of luck for the future.
