Meg Donnelly vs Chloe Grace Moretz (1-3, 1 KO vs 6-8, 6 KO) Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: This is a huge opportunity for both these blondes as genuine free agent match-ups aren't all that common on PPV schedule. Meg Donnelly suffered the inglorious Asylum treatment on her debut versus current champion Kristen Stewart and got doubled down by Ariel Winter which means she probably enjoyed - if that's the right word - the hardest introduction of any of the 37 rookies this season. And now she's got a message for The Man in the Hat but details will be revealed "when I rearrange Chloe's frickin' face", to quote the 19 year old from Brooklyn.
Meanwhile Chloe Moretz has enjoyed a special mention in the latest Boxing World Magazine article which is quite surprising when you consider her mediocre 6-8 record. She tried to replace Shenae Grimes as the Lioness Club resident sparring partner back in January however that mission failed when she got bounced by the Canadian veteran in four so if she goes down to the unheralded Donnelly tonight, her career might spin totally out of control.
Meg Donnelly wears a red sports bra, matching hotpants & brown gloves. Shoulder lenght blonde hair in loose waves. Chloe Moretz wears a light blue sports bra with white trim, matching hotpants & blue gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: The opportunity might be huge alright however both girls appear to be scared of it at first, the opening round turns into a free agency sparring session more than anything else but the audience shows enough patience to let them get away with it. Chloe tries to connect with some head shots and moves around the area with superior speed only for Meg to keep her at bay with overhand response. Single punches make their way on target but then it all goes downhill when a lenghty clinch slows the action right down for a not-so-good measure. C'mon, girls! No manager will be impressed by this woeful showing.
Round 2: Meg lands a quick punch over the top and finds Chloe's temple before blasting her again downstairs which completely surprises the older blonde. Chloe wobbles to her heels with a loud whimper and then eats another big hook on the chin which finally triggers a spell of jabbing pressure. Donnelly leaps at the fellow free agent and tries to land more strikes upstairs but Moretz dances away from her range and develops a counter-punching response herself. She struggles to make it count though and gets clobbered to the ropes where Meg plugs several low punches to keep honest. Another attempt to dissect the high guard fails and Moretz clinches her to run out the clock.
Round 3: Chloe finally tries to run the bout from the front and Meg's aggressive approach ends when she walks into a left/right combo on each temple. She wobbles to the side with a loud whimper and gets beaten for a quick overhand that nails her on the nose. Chloe gets vocal as she powers ahead and uses Meg's head as target practice before the Brooklyn youngster covers up and weathers the storm behind a high earmuff while sagging on the ropes. Chloe almost gets too desperate in her push for glory here as she keeps her opponent trapped alright but struggles to make a real impact for remainder of the round.
Round 4: More wild swings from Chloe who just can't land that big punch here and fails to match Meg's agility across the boards. She manages to stick a single punch once in a while but Donnelly still makes her look sluggish & ineffective and walks back towards the center of the ring leaving the older blonde fuming. Chloe rips a nice cross moments later but Donnelly begins to mock her verbally as if she realizes the older blonde can't hurt her at all tonight. Moretz jumps into a jabbing frenzy but Meg ducks underneath the attack and plugs a belting hook on the liver that slows the older girl right down which leads into some jeering from the audience as there's no follow up and Donnelly reverts into fancy circles around the visibly frustrated foe instead.
Round 5: Chloe tries to lure the Brooklyn youngster into a trap but gets stopped in her tracks when Meg blasts her across the chin and suddenly tees off from point-blank range to punish the staggered girl. Ugh! Moretz quickly regrets her tactical switch and so she should - Meg is no elite operator at this stage of her career yet she bangs several clean shots up the middle and stymies the older blonde in the center of the ring with a flurry of body shots before clobbering her onto the ropes down the stretch. Chloe tries to swing from the back foot but bounces off the top of Meg's forehead and gets whacked with another chin-checking drive which slumps her into spasms come the final stretch. Ugh! She gets belted with a late barrage on the ribs as well and looks to be aching a lot as she walks slowly to her corner.
Round 6: Moretz is too slow on her feet to avoid a head-hunting burst from the younger blonde who dissects the high guard and simply bashes into her face to force a loud yelping volume. Chloe gets stuck on her heels as she's unable to counter the vicious attack and turns to the side just so Donnelly can BLAST her on the exposed liver with a quick hook... Ugh! Chloe shrieks out in pain and drops her gloves alltogether while the Brooklyn native FLOORS HER with a nasty uppercut on the completely unprotected jaw! Moretz collapses on her knees and bends her head against the canvas but that's all she wrote here, folks! Stunning KO6 Meg Donnelly!!!
AFTER: This is a terrible showing from Chloe who just couldn't overpower an unheralded teenager! Meg gloats over the vanquished foe but she quickly takes over the mic and voices herself as perfect fit for the widely reported Front Street roster change next February: "Hello, Uncle Wiz! Remember me? Not bad for a random free agent, huh? I'm eternally grateful for handing me that chance back in January BUT I'm no pushover like you think I am! Hell, I deserve some managerial help! I just beat the crap out of one of the most promising free agents - just look at her crying down there - so that means I'm the new #1 prospect now!" (giggles). Okay, maybe there is this one girl that beat me in the New Blood final but c'mon! You know I'm the real deal!" (winks).
