Behati Prinsloo vs. Cassidy Freeman

Behato Prinsloo: 31 years old, 5’10 ½”, 8-6 since 2016, 8 KO, Fates Boxing

Cassidy Freeman: 37 years old, 5’8”, 27-19-1 since 2010, 23 KO, Lioness Club of America

Before:

Freeman: “Behati thinks she’s the next big thing since Tahnee Atkinson already offered her a title opportunity if Atkinson beats the champ. I have tough news for Behati. She’s not the next big thing. She’s just another model.”

Prinsloo: “Look, I have great respect for Cassidy. But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s my time now, and Freeman is in the way.”

Freeman wears her hair in a ponytail for the fight, blue sports bra, matching trunks and white gloves. Prinsloo has her hair in a bun and has donned a red sports bra, red bottoms and red gloves for the complete color coordination.

Round 1:

The two welters begin by circling each other, neither wanting to give her opponent the early lead. Prinsloo gets her jab working early, using her extra height to her advantage. Behati gets some nice contact early on, but Freeman lures Prinsloo in so that the model has to lunge and the more experienced fighter takes advantage, smacking a right straight into the model’s face that clearly got Behati rattled right out of the gates. Prinsloo tries to shift the tide back into her favor and aggressively goes after Cassidy only to be clocked again by the actress. This time Freeman is able to follow up and gets Prinsloo into the ropes, but the Victoria’s Secret Angel somehow manages to escape and keeps her distance for the rest of the round through her jab. At the end of the first, Freeman jumps out to an early lead, wide.

Round 2:

Prinsloo nodding in the corner as Fates clearly telling her to not be so aggressive when pursuing Freeman. Cassidy and Behati circle to start the second, but Behati quickly starts darting forwards, striking, and backing off before Cassidy can really punish the model. Prinsloo starts alternating jabs and hooks and catches Freeman off guard to start, but Cassidy starts to catch on and rifles a punch right to Behati’s mouth. Prinsloo backs up and Freeman launches a nasty right hook at the model, but Behati dodges out of the way and catches Cassidy with a one-two combo that gets Freeman in the mouth, forcing the actress backwards. Now it’s Behati on the offensive, pumping leather into Cassidy’s body and driving her into the ropes. Prinsloo begins to tee off on Freeman just as the bell rings, and Prinsloo goes back to her corner knowing that she carried the round on points, wide.

Round 3:

For the first round this fight, neither woman opens up the round by circling her opponent. Rather, Cassidy starts feinting immediately, and while Behati doesn’t bite on the fakes too hard, Freeman still gets some solid unexpected punches in on the Namibian model in the first minute. Behati doesn’t let Freeman get away with it for long though, as she goes back to her jab, landing a trio of clean shots in succession to Freeman’s mouth and chin, although the actress hardly seems to notice. Freeman quickly closes the distance and plunges her fist right into Prinsloo’s solar plexus which draws a grimace of displeasure out of Prinsloo, but Behati plays it coolly and wards off any further offense with a well-placed jab. The two women eventually start circling as the bell rings, and Freeman emerges ahead on points, close.

Round 4:

For the second round in a row, the round begins without the two fighters circling each other. Freeman again opens up the offense with some hard feints, but Prinsloo is even more prepared for them this round than the previous one. Behati absorbs the blows with her guard and gets some solid counterpunches in, forcing Freeman to yield ground despite her offense. Behati tries to capitalize, but the experience actress able to thwart the model’s best efforts with a well-placed punch to the mouth. Cassidy and Behati begin circling at the end of the second with Behati being the one landing more punches, thanks to her extra range from her height. Freeman makes some solid contact late in the round, but Prinsloo gets the upper end of the trade. As the bell dings, Behati takes the round on points, close.

Round 5:

Behati elects to start the round on the offensive, launching jabs and making excellent contact with Freeman. The veteran actress does land some punches back on to Behati, but Cassidy has to give up ground as the model follows her around the ring. After the first minute, Behati starts to turn up the intensity, alternating hooks aimed at Freeman’s head and punches to her body. Cassidy able to hold off the Namibian model’s onslaught, but she’s clearly taking a beating doing so. Freeman retreats and Prinsloo lunges at her, barely missing a massive hook to Cassidy’s head. Freeman slips a jab into Behati’s toned belly and then tries to hit the model in the face, but Freeman whiffs! Prinsloo drives a right straight into Freeman’s solar plexus and draws a yelp of pain from the older woman and Prinsloo slams to hooks to Cassidy’s chin and the actress goes down! Behati quickly retreats to the corner as the ref counts. Five. Cassidy rolls onto her belly. Six. Seven. Freeman up to one knee. Eight. Freeman tries to get up but she crashes back down as the ref counts to ten. It’s over folks, and your winner by KO5, Behati Prinsloo!

After:

After waving to the crowd, Behati checks in on Cassidy on the two women briefly embrace before they leave.

“Prinsloo may not be as experienced as she could be, but she’s strong, I’ll give her that.” Freeman quips in her post-fight. “As for Behati’s match with Tahnee, it’ll be an interesting one – and could be even more interesting depending on how Tahnee does tonight.”

Behati fairly lively when talking to the press, complimenting Cassidy on her fight. “Cassidy has really had a great series of fights, and it was great to face her tonight. As for Atkinson – I’m looking forward to it regardless of what happens tonight in her match with Righetti. But it’ll be something special if Tahnee wins, I will say that.”
