Before:
“Behati is undersized for the welterweight division to begin with. She’s way smaller than I am, and I am going to knock that Victoria’s Secret Angel b*tch out.” Lawley declares adamantly before the fight. “She isn’t going to beat Righetti for the welter title later this month, she needs a wake-up call. As for me, I am looking to prove that I still have it.”
“She’s just salty that I have a title shot,” Behati claims. “I may be small for the division, but I pack a punch – and she’s going to be eating a lot of those.”
Lawley comes to the ring with an orange sports bra and matching shorts with blue gloves, her hair in a ponytail. Prinsloo comes to the ring with a black sports bra and black spandex bottoms with white gloves.
Round 1:
Robyn the first to start throwing punches jabbing at Behati and using her extra reach to do so. Prinsloo absorbs most of the jabs in her guard, but takes a pair to her head, much to the Namibian’s displeasure. Behati starts counterpunching, landing some solid jabs of her own into the face of the Aussie. Prinsloo quickly follows up into Lawley’s body, starting to work on the bigger woman’s body. Lawley lands a punch into Prinsloo’s midsection and forces the older model away, but Behati landed more punches in the earlier exchange. The two women circle each other for the remainder of the round, trading blows fairly evenly. The bell dings and Behati takes the opening round on points, close.
Round 2:
Lawley immediately goes back to jabbing to start the round and Prinsloo takes it fairly well. However, once Robyn starts feinting, Behati starts falling for punches and getting smacked by the stronger blows. Prinsloo throws a punch to get Lawley to back off and it hits Lawley in the nose, but Robyn immediately pounds a vicious right back at Behati’s nose and then plugs leather into the Namibian’s body. Behati gasps as she gets her guard up and Robyn starts teeing off on Prinsloo as the Aussie drives Prinsloo into the ropes. Behati struggles as the hard-hitting Robyn pounds away at the Victoria’s Secret model, but Prinsloo eventually clinches and the referee breaks the two apart. Prinsloo circles defensively and keeps her distance, counterpunching at Robyn when possible. The bell rings signaling the end of the round and Robyn takes it on points, wide.
Round 3:
Behati emerges confidently from her corner and starts the round by feinting, baiting Robyn with her right and hitting her with her left. Robyn retreats slightly and Behati continues to punch away at the Aussie until Lawley smacks a left straight into Behati’s chin and now it’s the Namibian’s turn to fall back. Prinsloo gets her guard up as Lawley lays on the hurt on Behati’s body, but by targeting the Victoria’s Secret model’s body, she freed up Prinsloo to do some damage back. Behati lands a juicy hook to Lawley’s jaw and follows up with a jab to Lawley’s nose, drawing a trickle of blood. Lawley backs off and starts circling defensively and Prinsloo begins circling to match and the two women trade jabs until the bell. Behati takes the round on points, close.
Round 4:
Prinsloo opens up the fourth by ducking towards Lawley, sticking a few punches, and then retreating, increasing the tempo on the larger model. Lawley hanging in there, but more of Prinsloo’s punches are connecting than what Robyn would like. Lawley lunges out and tries to take Behati’s head off but whiffs and Prinsloo connects with an uppercut to Robyn’s jaw, staggering the Australian. Behati follows up with blows to Robyn’s body as the Sports Illustrated model gets her guard up and absorbs punishment as she’s coaxed into the ropes and Prinsloo tees off. Robyn clinches and the ref has to break the two women apart. Lawley takes a bit more initiative after the two are separated and lands a few punches, but Behati lands just as many and hers are clearly stinging more. The bell dings and. The two women go back to their respective corners. Behati takes the round on points, wide.
Round 5:
Robyn and Behati begin the round by circling each other and jabbing, trying to get an advantage over their opponent. Robyn abusing her extra reach and tagging Behati with more punches than Behati is landing on Robyn, and the Namibian model is forced to back off. Lawley chases Prinsloo around the ring until Prinsloo plants her feet and rockets a quick one-two punch into the Australian’s mouth and now it’s Lawley who has to back off. Prinsloo cautiously launches some punches into Robyn’s body and Lawley responds in kind. The two women go back to circling until the bell rings, and the round is a tie.
Round 6:
The sixth begins much like the fifth with both women circling each other. Lawley again abusing her extra reach, but Prinsloo is expecting it and ducks in and out, landing two quick punches before retreating. Prinsloo dashes in again and sticks two punches to Lawley, but the Aussie reads her like a book and connects with a solid right straight into Behati’s mouth and then hammers a left into Behati’s belly. Prinsloo groans and gets her guard up as Lawley tries to corner the Victoria’s Secret model, but Prinsloo is too slippery and gets away from the Sports Illustrated model. Lawley follows Behati and jabs at her, again using her extra reach, and while Prinsloo lands plenty of punches back onto her, Lawley comes out ahead at the bell. Robyn takes the round on points, close.
Round 7:
Robyn and Behati warily emerge from their respective corners but do not begin the round by circling each other. Prinsloo is the first woman to fire off some offense, landing some solid punches into Lawley’s midsection. Robyn groans and lashes out at Behati and catches her in the nose and both women retreat. The two women begin to circle each other and Lawley is the one who strikes first, using her extra range to strike against the smaller model. Behati takes the blows and counterpunhces fairly well, preventing Robyn from getting much of an advantage. The two back off and only jab at each other for the final minute and the two women fight to a draw.
Round 8:
The two women start the round cautiously, jabbing at each other until Behati charges in and smacks a left into Robyn’s jaw, staggering the Aussie. Robyn throws out a wild punch that misses Behati and Prinsloo lands a quick hook into Robyn’s jaw before landing a picturesque uppercut that knocks Lawley onto her back! Behati quickly goes to the corner as the ref starts counting. Robyn rolls over as the ref counts five. She looks up at six. At seven, Lawley reaches out for the ropes but falls down on her face and can’t beat the count. Your winner by KO8, Behati Prinsloo!
After:
Behati beaming as she celebrates her victory before going over to Lawley and embracing the taller model. Behati goes over to Taylor Swift for her post-fight interview.
“Robyn fought really well, but she’s not in my league,” Behati says into the mic before Taylor can even ask her a question. Swift laughs and then asks the question everyone in the arena is thinking, “So how are you feeling for later this month?”
Behati smiles, “Well, I’ve been working really hard the past few months, so I’m looking forward to it. Righetti is also one of the best welters of all time, and it’s an honor to be fighting her. We will see who the better welter is later this month.”
