BEFORE:

"It's been a while," says Summer with a smile, "And, I'm sure lots of people have been writing my boxing obituary. But. Reports of my demise have grossly exaggerated."

"She's a former champion," says Chloe with a nod. "I'm a former champion. So. Let's do this."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor, and that's a favorite of the young lady making her way to the ring right now, former Unified Bantamweight Champion Summer Glau!"

McCarthy: "And, I don't agree with all these nosayers. I don't think Glau's past it. Yes, she's had a rough patch, but, if she were 28 instead of 38 nobody would be writing her oditchuary!"

Tess: "Oditch..."

Cassie: "Worth it, BFF?"

Tess: "Good point."

McCarthy: "What ARE you two babbling about?"

O'Dell (sighing): "Glau into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing a white number that shows off a body that's clearly been trained very well for this one, and that's..."

McCarthy: "Yet ANOTHER assault on my olfaction!"

O'Dell (sighing): "That is 'Uh Oh' and the singer of that little ditty, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet, is on her way to the ring right now."

Cassie: "And, while it may be awhile before Front Street gets another bantamweight title shot, Chloe's right in the middle of the title picture right now, and that's no surprise, because she's been there for two solid years now."

O'Dell: "Bennet into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that blue number we've seen before, and looking plenty good doing it, judging by the crowd reaction. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Chloe. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Glau breaks her losing streak and pulls a big upset."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Three fights. Three split panels. Glau on the move as we start the first. And, this is no surprise, because Glau's very athletic and moves very well. Bennet patient, working the feet, she'll box on the move if you want to do that, because she can fight at lot of different ways..."

Tess: "Sure can. I always say she's the best fighter at Front Street."

O'Dell: "At the moment, though, Glau a little too slick. She's getting to spots, getting off, and getting gone before Chloe can respond. Bennet staying patient, though, moving with, looking to get the former champ lined up, but not having any success doing it right now."

McCarthy: "Glau's got the geometry going. This reminds me of what she did against Brit back in the day. Just hard to find. But, she can find YOU."

O'Dell: "That's a pretty find description of what's going on in there right now. Summer has built herself a solid lead, scoring, moving, scoring again. And, Chloe's offense has mostly been single-shot stuff. She's definitely not gotten into gear, and it's too late for the first round. There's the bell. Glau. Wide."

ROUND TWO:

O"Dell: "Second underway and Bennet beginning to get some of the geometry right now. Glau still moving, jabbing, ranging around the ring, but now Chloe now finding Summer, getting her offense going. Glau still scoring, though. She's putting punches together every bit as well as she did in the first..."

Cassie: "Only difference is, Chloe's scoring, too."

O'Dell: "Exactly, and that means we have a two-way round, with both fighters being effective in their own ways. Chloe using the left jab to set up hard right hands, Summer sticking, moving, stopping, popping, then getting back on the move. Glau may not be in her 20s anymore, but she still moves well, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Nothin' but a number, Jenny."

O'Dell: "Twenty seconds to go in the second. SHARP exchange right there, and Bennet got the better of it. Summer circles away, Bennet in pursuit. Another sharp exchange and Chloe landed a hard right in there, and that's the bell. Good round for both fighters. Chloe. Close."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Pattern looking to be set as we start the third. Summer's going to move and Chloe's going to pursue and it's all going to be about which fighter gets more of what she wants. And, for the second-straight round, it appears that's going to be a near thing, Mac..."

McCarthy: "See, this is the kind of fight I like, a cerebelrebral fight!"

Tess: "A cere..."

Cassie: "Worth it, BFF?"

Tess: "Good point..."

McCarthy: "What ARE you two babbling about?"

O'Dell (sighing): "Fight ranging around the ring now. Bennet lining up Glau for a solid combination before Summer circles away. Former champions both showing plenty of chops in this stanza. Good exchange there, and Summer got the better of that one, landing a couple of hard right hands."

Tess: "You have to wonder if Glau has the legs anymore to do this for eight or ten rounds, but, if she does..."

O'Dell: "Exactly. Because she's plenty effective. Summer a quick flurry that stops Chloe in her tracks and then another and another! Final twenty seconds and Glau getting off with both hands. Bennet thrown to the defensive. Not hurt, but taking tons of leather right to the bell. Summer's round, and easily after that last minute."

Cassie: "And, Glau's back on top 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Summer moving well again to start the fourth frame. Bennet patiently stalking, looking to line up the older woman for some hard leather. She's getting that done here and there. At other times, it's Summer ranging around the ring jabbing, stopping, popping, then moving again..."

Cassie: "She's clearly in superb shape for this, Jenny. Not even breathing hard in the corner."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Got to train very hard if you're getting in there with Bennet, and there's no question Glau's done that. Summer a quick combination before she circles away. Chloe right back after her, squares up and lands a solid flurry of her own that forces Glau to back and cover."

Tess: "Another of those two-way rounds, Jenny."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it, and, down the stretch we come. Sharp exchange there, and both fighters land some solid in it. Again, nobody hurt, but that was some serious leather. Ten seconds left in the round. One more exchange and there's the bell. Close this time. Glau again."

McCarthy: "And, Summer is up a pair, 39-37."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "More of the same as we start the fifth. Glau on the move and Bennet looking to square. Chloe stepping to now, getting some heavy leather on, forcing Summer to back and cover. Bennet getting it going, throwing Summer to the defensive, backing her up against the ropes..."

Cassie: "Not where Glau wants to be."

O'Dell: "Definitely isn't, but that's where Bennet's got her. Chloe getting off lusty, landing hard rights to the head, working a little body. Glau not hurt, but she's getting touched up in a major way. Summer clinching, forcing a break now. Bennet right back at her, thumping away."

McCarthy: "Summer's got to get some space here."

O'Dell: "Final fifteen seconds of the round and Bennet's been in control the whole way. She backs Summer up with another sharp flurry to the head. Glau circles away. Five seconds left, and Summer's going to leg out the rest of the round, but that one goes to Bennet and wide."

Tess: "And, it's 48-47, Summer at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Second half begins the way the first ended. Chloe pressuring, landing hard shot. Summer retreating, trying to get some space, but, all of a sudden, she can't do it. Bennet's found something and she's making good use of it, giving the older woman a licking at the moment."

Tess: "Glau still moving just fine, but Bennet's just matching footwork, cutting her off."

O'Dell: "Then squaring her up, and letting those heavy hands go and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND THAT HURT SUMMER! Glau wobbled by a BOOMING right from Bennet! Former champ lets the hands go! Summer reeling and DOWN SHE GOES after a BLISTERING right hand!"

Cassie(singing): "Turn out the liiiiggghhhtttsss. The party's ohhhhhverrrrrrrrr...."

O'Dell: "Bennet to a neutral corner. Glau down on her back and not moving at ALL. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Still no movement from Summer, who was absolutely CLOCKED by that last right. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

McCarthy: "If she hadn't gotten lucky, Summer would have won this on the cards!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, she can still move..."

Chloe (nodding): "Yeah, and it's not just the legs. She's a very good boxer, always in the right position. Really tough to deal with. Had to work hard to get to her."

Tess: "But, you did..."

Chloe (smiling): "Yeah. Definitely did and made no mistake when that happened. Needed to cash the chips right there, because, you don't want to go to the cards with her. You really don't."
