Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago

Location: Santa Monica State Beach, California

BEFORE: It's time for some classic Sports Illustrated beach boxing action featuring Santa Monica's very own Lily Aldridge and the "Best Hungarian in FCBA" Barbara Palvin. All smiles in the build-up so perhaps Barbara has better memories of working with Lily than Elsa Hosk but then she opens her mouth and claims "Lily should stick to BBU and leave the real stuff to Next Gen contenders like ME!!! No offense but she's kinda long in the tooth these days, I mean I should be on that Lioness roster instead of her! Grr... I'm the frickin' European talent, if Karolina Kurkova has a job over there so should I!"

Lily dismisses Barbara's claims and tells her to "earn the job" instead of playing the "I'm Hungarian so I'm cool" card. Awkward staredown between the two follows and Lily suddenly looks like she means business while Barbara scans the Santa Monica beach to apparently check if there are some Hungarian flags in the stands...

Lily Aldiridge wears a neon yellow bikini set & black gloves. Long dark brown hair loose & straight. Barbara Palvin wears a multi-color vertically striped crop top (pictured), matching thong & red gloves. Long light brown hair in loose waves. Both fighters are barefoot. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:

Barbara is on a mission to knock Lily's head off and just keeps hassling the older brunette upstairs to annoy the SoCal audience. If anyone expected Lily to breeze into action on home beach then think again because it's the younger girl that makes all the agressive moves bumping the local favorite around the sand. Left hook on the eye, right dinger on the nose and Lily just can't live with the fast start here which forces her into strange reeling action nobody saw coming. And Barbara simply wants more and drives her mitts into Lily's face like she's done this her entire SI tenure at the very least. She traps Aldridge on the ropes in the final minute and drops low to punish the midsection since Lily just caves in behind a desperate earmuff.

Round 2:

Lioness coach Eva Mendes has to literally slap Lily in the face during the break and maybe the Santa Monica native is nursing a hangover here or something but she finally bursts through the sand to connect with Barbara's midsection and drop her on the heels seconds into the round. Lily leans on the younger model so much she almost head-butts her in the process but obviously no ref will make a move to upset the SoCal audience no matter how angry Palvin appears to be. The Hungarian is unable to fend off the harpoon swag and gets backed into the ropes with Lily glued into her ribs! Huh! That was more like it from the pretty brunette even though she kinda lacked raw power while pounding Barbara's midriff into a mush.

Round 3:

More of the same in the third, a hint of a head-butt sends Palvin reeling when Aldridge connects with her midsection waaay too easily for the crowd not to enjoy this recovery prowl from their favorite. Lily goes into speed dial mode on the fellow model's ribs but finds enough esteem to work the overhand bounce as she beats Palvin for a right-on-right and neutralizes the comeback effort. Barbara is forced to fight from her heels and only kicks up more dust around the shins as she's playing second fiddle to Lily bursting more damage into the ribcage that appears to be swelling already. Ugh! Barbara drops onto the ropes and just gives up the chase as Lily bangs a right hook off the hip and misses a late put away upstairs which annoys her come the bell.

Round 4:

Barbara uses some nifty footwork to stay clear of the close range tussle and Lily has to forget about pounding more ribs here as she settles for an aerial dispute that actually brings the Hungarian babe more joy instead. Barbara finds her range and stacks up punches into Lily's face and that leaky defense makes coach Mendes lose her plot in the Lioness corner alas Palvin is unable to channel the supreme power and drops into single-striking pounce that will take minutes to send Aldridge into real trouble according to Erin Andrews in the booth. Back & forth action is maybe pleasing for the eye but both women look like they're just ticking off a box here rather than trying to demolish each other!

Round 5:

Barbara rolls into another head-hunting prowl but gets picked off with a hook on the boobs she didn't see coming and wobbles to the side as Lily NAILS her with a brutal hook on the nose almost against her tactical approach here. Palvin suddenly goes limp and fails to cover up as Lily jumps right in her face and delivers a quick uppercut double that sends the Hungarian into glass jaw mode... AND DOWN GOES PALVIN.. just dropped to her knees after a routine one-two uppercut pounce... Ugh! This looks BAD for the free agent but she gets up at five and seeths redemption only to meet a scything cross on the nose and reel onto the ropes again immediately upon impact... Lily just traps her on the spot and as Barbara covers up, she leaves the ribcage meat exposed for punishment so the older brunette duly takes over and SLAMS one hit after another rendering Palvin into punchbag mode... cue in those painful yelps and Barbara is frozen on the ropes with Aldridge trying to shatter her ribs... AND THE REF CHARGES IN TO HALT THE BEATING!!! Too easy!!! TKO5 Lily Aldridge!!!

AFTER: Lily barks at Barbara's softish defense downstairs and the Hungarian babe has no excuses following this ugly stoppage. Maybe there's a reason why she remains unsigned despite all that potential? It's a damn throwback to Marisa Miller's heinous tenure as the softest girl in town and the SoCal crowd is delighted it's Barbara's career in sudden jeopardy. Lily looked like she's spend the summer sunbathing and/or partying too much but she got the job done. Very unconvincing? Yes, but still effective! And she vows to buy Barbara a bottle of tequila to cure all that midriff pain. So now they want to become friends again? Hear it from coach Mendes: "Barbie knows she got beat BAD and has to obey the master! I mean, Lily is supposed to be one of the Mean Girls, right?" (laughs).
