Blonde Ambition At The Asylum II: Electric Boogaloo

BEFORE:

"People tend to forget how many fights I've won in this area," says Jennifer with a smile, "And against this stable. And, tonight, I'm going to do it again."

"No question she can get the job done," says Kat with a nod. "But, she's not getting it done tonight."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Too Bad About Your Girl' by the Donnas, and here comes lovely blonde Jennifer Morrison..."

McCarthy: "And, Morrison DOES have a 3-1 record against Weirdo's Dancing Hookers...and, the only loss came in OT..."

Tess: "To one of your FAVORITE Front Streeters, Nicole Scherzinger..."

McCarthy: "Home town refereeing AND judging! Morrison was ROBBED. Just like I was!"

Cassie: "HERE we go..."

McCarthy: "Shut UP, Scabbo!"

O'Dell: "Jennifer into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that white number we've seen before, and that's 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' by Scissor Sisters pounding through the arena, and that can only mean that Kat 'The Rack' Dennings is on her way to ringside!"

McCarthy: "And, just like Dennings herself, 'The Rack' is OVERRATED..."

Cassie: "You're just jealous that 'The Rack' is natural, not pumped full of industrial grade silicone!"

McCarthy: "You LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "Now, calm DOWN, Mac. We do NOT want to see 'Police Academy 23: Rest Home Guards', so, let's keep our eyes on the ring, where Kat climbs in and is helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that curve-hugging black bikini she prefers. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kat. Mac?"

McCarthy: "The mastery continues! Morrison!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go. Jennifer getting her box on early. Blonde wants to keep this thing at range, where she's got the advantage. Kat probing, stepping forward, landing some shot before Morrison changes the geometry with the feet, gets back to jabbing..."

McCarthy: "Lots of recon going on here. Neither fighter really committing on offense."

O'Dell: "No doubt plenty of respect being shown by both fighters. Kat stepping in again, bangs a little body. Morrison ties up, slips away, gets back to gunnery range. Jennifer moving very, very well. No surprise there, as she's always been very athletic. Still has fast hands, too."

Cassie: "And, Kat keeping that guard up as she works forward, picking a lot of that off."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. Ten seconds to go in a slowly-paced first round, not much in it. Kat steps to. Jennifer ties her up. Ladies wrestling around in there as the referee watches to see if they'll get free, then steps in to break it up as the bell sounds. Nothing in it at all. Draw in the first."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with Morrison going to a double-tap on the left jab, and it's making a difference. Blonde slowing, then stopping the brunette with that sharp left, leaving her hanging out there in great position for hard, follow on right hands. Kat eating a LOT of those right hands right now..."

McCarthy: "This is a great adjustment from Morrison and it's how you beat plodding, Campbell Clones like Dennings!"

O'Dell: "Jennifer finding a rhythm now, getting everything working now. She's got the distance she wants, she's worked out the range, and she's calling in artillery strike after artillery strike on Dennings' position. Kat game, still working, but not able to get much done."

Tess: "Morrison DOES seem to like this place, doesn't she?"

O'Dell: "Heading down the stretch in the second. Morrison in total control now. Kat unable to solve the double-tap jab, and she's taking a thumping in this stanza as a result. Ten seconds to go. HARD right hand by Morrison stops Dennings in her tracks and there's the bell. Jennifer. Wide."

Cassie: "20-19, Morrison."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third begins with more double-tapping from Jennifer. Dennings adjusting herself now. She's tucking the head, going into a half-crouch. She's using the gloves to pick off some of those jabs, giving herself a chance to slip past the blonde's defenses and get inside."

Tess: "And, she's getting to work to the body when she does that."

O'Dell: "Dennings, like her mentor, a big fan of body work. She's banging midsection and ribs. Morrison tying up, forcing a break, getting back to range and back to the jab. Little game of cat and mouse right now. When Morrison can get the jab on, she's having the better of things..."

Cassie: "And, when Kat can block or slip, she's getting inside and tenderizing meat."

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch, and it's been another competitive round. Dennings inside and Morrison offsetting that with her work outside. Five seconds left. Kat working some body and she'll thump away right to the bell. Close one. But, the brunette is going to get the points."

McCarthy: "Even at 29. And the ref needs to watch for low blows!"

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth starts on the same terms as the third ended. Jennifer wants to work that jab, create space and openings for those hard right hands. Kat wants to close, work inside to both body and head. Dennings hooking the ribs in there now, but Morrison ties up and forces a break."

McCarthy: "Ref needs to make sure she breaks CLEAN! She's a cheater just like Campbell!"

O'Dell: "Morrison double-tapping, double-tapping, then following on with right hands. Slowing Dennings. Kat eventually works past, gets back in close and works the body again, then backs the blonde up with an uppercut. Jennifer circles back and away, gets back to the jab."

Cassie: "Going to be another close one, Jenny."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. Both fighters getting some but not enough of what they want. Morrison at range offsetting Kat in close as we roll into the final seconds. Nice combination by the blonde and she follows with another and there's the bell. As we said, close. But, this time, Morrison."

Tess: "And, Jennifer is up 39-38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Into the fifth and, again, Morrison working to maintain distance. Dennings angling, in that half crouch, gets inside, works the body. Morrison tying up and DENNINGS LANDS THE RIGHT UPPERCUT! Jennifer stumbling backward and Kat going all in now!"

Tess: "That was a NASTY uppercut!"

O'Dell: "No idea how Jennifer is standing, but, somehow, she is. And, Kat trying to remedy that right now. She's all OVER Morrison, driving her back into the ropes and letting her have it with everything in the arsenal. Jennifer in a high guard, hanging on right now..."

McCarthy: "That hometown referee is just ITCHING to stop this..."

O'Dell: "Morrison doing enough to keep him at bay, jabbing back, rolling with punches, picking off others. Dennings going all body now with seconds to go, punishing the blonde to the midsection. Jennifer keeping those hands up, and she'll ride out the rest of the round. There's the bell. Dennings. Wide."

Cassie: "Even again, this time at 48."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with Dennings looking to finish this thing. Morrison still wobbly. Kat stepping to, backing her up with flurry after flurry. Morrison playing defense, playing for time, looking to get those legs back under her. Dennings not about giving her that time, though..."

Cassie: "Or any space, either..."

O'Dell: "Right in her grill. Jennifer backed into the ropes again. She ties up with Kat, but Dennings punching free and THERE'S THAT UPPERCUT AGAIN! Morrison wobbled and nearly went down and THERE'S A RIGHT HOOK AND DOWN GOES JENNIFER!"

Tess: "That ought to do it..."

O'Dell: "Dennings to a neutral corner. Morrison down on her right side, parallel to the ropes. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. No movement from Jennifer. Six. Seven. Eight. This is all academic. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Morrison is down and out and your winner by KO6 is Kat 'The Rack' Dennings!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kat Dennings, and, Kat, tough one."

Kat (nodding): "Knew it would be. She's quality. No question about that. Lots of girls in this division she can beat. I'm just not one of them."

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Kat (smiling): "Well. I'm about getting another shot at those belts, you know, so, whatever gets me closer to doing that."
