Before: Witherspoon in no position to refuse Ledoyen’s offer of a fight in the French Riviera—blonde desperate to prove she’s not just a pretty punching bag for the division big hitters, has to take the travel risk. Virginie also looking to regain raction in a slippery weight class, hoping to bully Reese into an early submission. Fought outdoors, Ledoyen in black bra style leather bikini, Reese in royal blue bikini with silver studs.


During R1: Routine punching from both women, Reese doing a nice job of getting under the taller brunette’s wide swings and doing damage with banging left/rights on the ribcage. Midway through, Ledoyen marching forward and getting punished to the body, suddenly drops to one knee with a startled expression. After 8, total war breaks out—Reese rampaging to finish the job, Ledoyen dropping her back foot lashing punches from a wide stance ad WITHERSPOON GETS HURT! Reese cringing away from a blasting right to her temple—Virginie loads up and bashes another right to the ear as Witherspoon turns into the ropes. All Ledoyen to the bell as she piles on, log limbed fury leaving Reese trembling at the bell.


R2: Reese defensive in the first minute, content to make Virginie miss over the top, nut not pulling the trigger on those damaginh ers to the ribcage early. Tentative action the rest of the way—Virginie looking a little tender, Reese not anxious to taste any more whip armed haymakers just yet.


R3: Ledoyen back in control, showing Reese the jab, keeping the blonde outside and extending on punches nicely. Witherspoon crossing her arms, trying to bob her way in, but Ledoyen’s lashing upwards with her punching, straightening Reese out of the crouch.


R4: Reese times the taller girl, tightly covered up around her head. Witherspoon rolls with Virginie’s licking lefts and rights, answering back with snug hooks and crosses brisk two way trade drawing cheers. Ledoyen just missing by inches, Reese coming back and jamming her fists hard to jaw and ribs, backing the French girl up around the ring.


R5: Ledoyen unfazed, twists into a lashing hook around Reese’s guard, jamming to the right ear, then sweeping up the middle with the booming right uppercut that pounds face with a skid. Witherspoon’s legs give way-she takes a seat, busted up around the nostrils. Reese woozy after 8, on comes a relaxed, limber punching Ledoyen to pile on the rest of the way. Virginie pumping her punches with sexy shoulder shrugs, ight uppercuts bashing against the front of Reese’s tight guard, licking hooks that curl around the blonde’s side to span kidney, or just away around the right wrist. Witherspoon windblown at the ropes, stands in for a beat down—comes away at the bell with glassy eyes, unsteady legs.

R6: Virginie slathering on the punishment, long armed licks bouncing off Reese’s shoulders and guard as the blonde gives ground, blocking and rolling on defense. Ledoyen slugging free, gets sloppy—Witherspoon starts walking the brunette into those sudden, clubbing counter punches, jaw and rib and LEDOYEN GOES DOWN! Rare show of emotion from Virginie as she punches the canvas and gets groggily to her feet-she’s now swaying, gloves at her lips, trying to regain her composure. Reese straight in, getting her head under Virginie’s chin, pushing the brunette’s arms aside and cramming away to the midsection as Ledoyen sinks hurt into the ropes. Scrubbing punishment bangs past the bell as Reese tries to vanquish her stupefied foe.


R7: Wild cat and mouse slugging—Reese covering up tight, looking to time the lashes, punch inside the free swinging model’s strokes. Ledoyen palming with her left, steadying Reese for those skidding right uppercuts. Midway through, Ledoyen twists her hips into another plowing hook around the guard to the jaw, freezing Reese in place for the crashing right uppercut—Witherspoon spills out of her guard in desperate trouble as Virginie chases the blonde to the ropes with splattering right hands on the face. All Virginie at the bell, feet wide, pulling side to side to side punches into a savaged Reese Witherspoon—blonde’s guard starting to droop as the non stop punching wears her out.


R8: Virginie consolidating—Reese badly busted up, sluggish—she’s still covered up, but she’s not moving her head—Ledoyen’s gloves are caroming harshly off the blonde’s upper body. Virginie stepping with Reese as she wilts around the ring—blonde sitting on the ropes coming forward only to clinch. At one point—a sleepy Reese Witherspoon leans forward, hugging loose around French girl’s slender hips—Ledoyen swabbing away t the back and sides around the brunettes grasping arms.


R9: Ledoyen pouring on a beating at this point—Reese unable to maintain her guard under the stroking abuse—Virginie breaking Witherspoon down, then scoring brutally to the head and body with torqueing blows. Brunette’s long body twisting and bending as she slashes away—Ledoyen not a great combination puncher, but there’s nothing coming back at her. Witherspoon beaten from pillar to post—scored 10-8 without knockdown as blonde’s eyes start to swell shut after 9.

R10: Third shutout in a row as Virginie finishes strong on a tragic beating to a game but outgunned Witherspoon. Reese helpless, clubbed from one foot to the other—she stoops forward, taking the uppercut between her gloves, taking the hook on that ringing right ear—Ledoyen grimly lathering away Useless official stares on as Virginie plows home a disastrous right uppercut late to drape Reese insensate up against the ropes—Ledoyen allowed to palm left, plow right to the face over and over again as Witherspoon won’t go down. Comes back UD10 Virginie Ledoyen—Witherspoon collapsing on her stool can’t make it out for the official announcement.


After: Monster club-down from Virginie as she survives some dicey give and take to finally batter Reese unrecognizable. Thrilling performance one of Witherspoon’s braver efforts, but again, she fights just well enough to lose in heartbreaking fashion. Ledoyen sore, but happy—when she wins, it’s usually in decisive fashion.
