Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
"Tonight will be a pretty good test for me,” Katheryn saying about her fight happening later tonight. “And while we’re on the topic of tests, we’re still finalizing the details, but it’s safe to say I’ll be facing the biggest challenge of my boxing career on the Doll Ball’s season finale. Some of you can probably figure out what that means. So, from my perspective, tonight is a must-win. Brie has had an excellent year, with a 5-1 record. She's definitely a rising star in the division, and she's younger and bigger than me. She even managed to beat Ginny (Gardner) earlier this year, so I heard first hand how dangerous she can be. I’m always looking to challenge myself and that’s exactly why I challenged Brie for this fight, and I'm glad she accepted. As always, may the best woman win!"

“You’re not doing too bad yourself,” Brie replying with a grin from across the table. The latest Marvel marvel is having the time of her life too, riding a wave of popularity with the recent release of Captain Marvel. Brie sits at the opposite end of the press table, sporting a short and wavy haircut, bouncing over her face, as she responds. “Katheryn’s as dangerous as they come, so I was thrilled that she thought I was a worthy enough opponent for her to face off against tonight. I just made short work of Ratajkowski in the recent stable war, so Winnick’s definitely going to be a step up for me. I hope not to disappoint later.”

Girls face off at the podium - as mentioned, Larson younger but Winnick coming in slightly stockier. Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you - the resident Doll has frequently used her power to put her challengers down in the dirt, and if she wins here tonight, it’ll mark her eighth victory this year alone.

Hours later, she’s striding down the ramp to the ring, in her usual Dollhouse colours of black/white sports bra and tights, that confident smile still plastered on her face. This top Bantamweight has every reason to be happy going into this fight, putting away girls like Cheryl Cole and Sarah Carters - former champions in their own right - and rumours have it that she’s planning to end 2019 with a bang.

Next comes Brie Larson, and this blonde rising star who defeated Emily Ratajkowski only last week is storming onto the stage in an outfit inspired by her on-screen persona: red and blue patterned sports bra and matching superheroine tights for bottoms. She shadow boxes in white gloves, rounding off that superhuman look. Every since appearing on the big screen, Ms Larson has grown a cult following of her own, being the poster child of the new wave of female-centered Marvel movies. What that has done for her confidence going into this fight, I guess we’re about to find out.

Ladies make ready in their corners, crowding in the center of the ring and then touching gloves when the referee asks them to. With a wave of the hand, HERE we go with ten rounds of heavy-hitting Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Slow and steady will win Winnick this race, and the blonde has never been one of those to be reckless, like some of her other counterparts. And this fight is no exception. Winnick staying at a distance and firing off periodic jabs, as Larson tries to come forward, looking for an opening to strike back. Brie with a corner of her mouth upturned slightly - never a good sign here - as she plays the same waiting game and peppers Kat’s guard with jabs. Brie however a little faster on her feet, stings Kat on the cheek in the second minute when a mad flurry sails in too fast for Winnick to do much about. Look of shock on Kat’s face as she eats the leather early in this fight, goes reeling backwards, more stunned than hurt. If she was planning to rely solely on her defences tonight, Larson is showing off her ability to counter this strategy with her own speed. Brie presses in in the final seconds, but not completely successful, stunning Kat further on the arms and body, meaning that the Marvel starlet will be the one taking the first round wide.

ROUND 2:
Back up plan for Winnick, who needs to dig deeper into her defensive reserves if she wants to keep Brie away. The strategy works for a while, using her long reach to dictate distance, even as Brie ramps up her own efforts to charge in swinging. But a lucky strike to the face has Larson stopped right in her tracks, looking slightly confused, Winnick’s power put on display even when her jabs are the ones landing. Larson still stubborn, keeps on piling on the pressure, but this round has Winnick looking much more comfortable in her own position, extending that right hand of hers and landing on the arms, body, and yes, occasionally, the lips of the blonde movie star. Bell rings and Larson’s lead all but gone, with Winnick re-staking her claim to the throne.

ROUND 3:
Much more balanced affair from both women as they play the long and arduous waiting game with each other - one girl takes a few steps forward and the other correspondingly retreats backwards as well. Jabs fired towards each other in a constant stream and shower, but more or less only hitting or bruising the forearms throughout these three minutes. Kat gets a little luck in the third, when a right hand of hers packs in the cheek, just as Larson was in the middle of a forward advance. Leather grazes the face as Brie doesn’t know whether to keep on going forwards or back. But Winnick unwilling to capitalise either, stays back at a defensive distance for the remaining of the round - there’s no need for the Doll to parade her victory. After all, she’s looking confident in taking the round as is.

ROUND 4:
Larson’s smile just no there, part exhaustion and part frustration taking over her face, blurring that pretty contours into plenty of frowns and pursed lips. She just can’t quite figure out how to break Katheryn Winnick at her own game, and that’s exactly what the Doll is anticipating. Kat slowly amping up the gears of her own offense, pushing Brie backwards with a series of jab-jab-hook combos that are suddenly flung towards her head. It certainly has the desired effect, with Larson looking wide-eyed and floundering back to avoid, not used to dealing with her foe suddenly on the offensive. But Kat’s mistake is thinking that Brie’s ready to go down, whereas Larson still spritely jumping here and leaping there, before the Fates star PLANTS a well-placed uppercut right into the chin of her incoming foe! OWW!! Kat didn’t see that one coming, so focused on her attacks that she allowed Larson to go around her guard, swing that counter-hand right underneath and up into the jawline! Winnick’s team letting out a gasp on her behalf as she goes reeling backwards, shaking the stars from her head. Just in time as well, as Larson rushes in to fill the void, a bevy of jabs now peppering the body and arms as the Doll is forced back to square one. Bell rings and both girls having seen plenty of action this round, but it’s Larson who’s gonna take it for her corner.

ROUND 5:
Off come the gloves as both ladies throw themselves full on at each other. Katheryn still relying on her center of gravity, doing more blocking than swinging, but SWING she does indeed once Brie comes into range, trying to deviate or parry her hooks away before managing to STUN the blonde back in her own face with a nasty counter-hook that craters the cheek! Larson made of some stern-ass stuff, however, eats not just one, but TWO wide hooks to the face from Winnick, but STILL KEEPS ON COMING forward, banging a hook of her own into Winnick’s side, then again trying to snap the Doll’s head back up into the sky with under-reaching uppercuts slammed into her guard. Last few seconds and I think it’s safe to say that both women are sufficiently banged up and ready to take a breather from the action! They circle and rely on their jab from afar, and the round ends with the first draw of the night!

ROUND 6:
By this point of time, both women must be thinking that their strategies going into this fight have all been shot up in the air. Kat’s overreliance on her defensive capabilities have not done her any favours this time, with Brie Larson easily side-stepping the security and landing leather repeatedly on her face. Each time Winnick stays put in one spot too long is an opportunity for Larson to exploit, dancing around the Doll, picking and choosing her attack vector. Katheryn however, is having none of that nonsense this time, moving hard and fast forward, all at once, as she disrupts Brie’s assault at the moment she least expects: a look of horror on Larson’s face as a right hook almost takes her head off, but she ain’t as lucky when another swing from Winnick disappears into her body, with Larson groaning as she’s folded over from the abuse. Katheryn’s turn to storm forward, right hand WHIPS the blonde’s head upwards with an uppercut of her own, AND LARSON GOES FLYING BACK before landing hard on the canvas!

It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Winnick! Larson’s head must be ringing from all that attention, now having some trouble sitting back up as her glassy-eyed expression says it all! Kat Winnick with a confident smirk, raise of her hand as she walks back to neutral corner, letting the referee do his job of counting her opponent out. Brie however with a slow and steady rise back to her feet, taking some of Winnick’s own advice as she manages to beat the count by 9! One hell of a round, that’s for sure, with Winnick seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as we head into the last quarter of this fight!

ROUND 7:
Larson not looking so hot any longer - metaphorically speaking, of course - as she does her best to head off what must surely be an eventual charge from Winnick. The Doll however still decides to bide her time, slowly tightening the noose as she takes small but deliberate steps towards her opponent. Larson recovering quickly as a result, shaking the daze from her head as she leaps left and right, able to avoid plenty of Winnick’s slow jabs and even slower hooks directed her way. Kat’s corner left shouting at her back, reminding her that this is the moment to strike, when the anvil’s hot, but the Doll does so only after the first minute ends, rushing headfirst towards Larson with one of her hooks pulled back to finish this fight. But it’s too little, too late, with Brie easily side-stepping her crazed and brazen charge, ducking under another wild swing that swooshes above the hairline, before Larson PLANTS a fist straight on the chin, making Katheryn eat a little of her own medicine as the Doll’s unfortunate head shoots up into space, the rest of her body following suit, most unwillingly, as the older blonde goes stumbling back and FALLING DOWN ONTO HER SIDE!

OUCH!! Revenge KNOCKDOWN right here in the seventh, and an unlikely one at that for Ms Larson! Good lord - could Brie have learnt a thing or two from her on-screen persona, that heavy-hitting alien who could technically beat Superwoman to a bloody pulp if she wanted?? Brie huffing, holding onto the ropes, catching her breath as she takes a much needed breather from the action. Winnick, however, not so lucky, her entire head still swimming as she tries repeatedly to get off her back, only to fall back down to the canvas with a groan with each rising count ringing in her ear. The referee does his best to prolong the inevitable, but he reaches the 10-count and has little choice but to WAVE the Doll’s chances off! This fight is OVER, folks!

Official Decision: Brie Larson defeats Katheryn Winnick via KO7!

AFTER:
Holy smokes! Ms Winnick’s team must be in tatters at this shocking loss, especially after all that confidence coming into this fight earlier. Whoever Winnick’s mystery date is for the next Doll Ball, this defeat is sure to damage her confidence in the days to come.

Larson on the other hand breaking into a wide smile, pumped at having beaten someone like Winnick, amazingly Beating both her and Ratajkowski in the span of one week! The victorious Larson immediately throws her hands up into the air when the bell rings to make it official, part of her not quite believing it herself as she turns to celebrate with her corner.

Winnick getting checked over by Carmen Electra and an army of medics by her side, trying to revive the defeated blonde with smelling salts and perhaps patch her up in time for her next big challenge. Larson actually coming over minutes later, exchanging some well-meaning compliments with Kat still on the floor of the ring, but doing little else to soften the blow dealt tonight.

Later, Larson speaking to reporters outside the ring. “That was undoubtedly a HUGE win for me. Katheryn will be 42 in two months, can you believe it? I HOPE to be this good when I’m her age….she’s a badass, but unfortunately for her - there was another badass in the ring with her." Brie smirks. "I’m just glad I was able come out on top tonight. I wish Katheryn the best of luck in her upcoming fight. I happen to know who her opponent is going to be, and I’ll definitely be watching.” The blonde keeps it short before making her way backstage, waving and blowing kisses to the excited fans who witnessed an amazing performance form this rising star tonight. Should Bella Thorne be worried? Is Brie Larson going to take the division by storm? Only time will tell!
