Alessandra Ambrosio vs. Emily DiDonato

Alessandra Ambrosio: 38 years old, 5’9 ½”, 25-10 since 2016, Girls Friday.

Emily DiDonato: 28 years old, 5’10”, 14-5 since 2017, Fates Boxing.

Before:

“Last time, I knocked that fake model out in six. This time, I’m gunning for four.” Alessandra boasts to the press. “And then when I prove that this fake model who thinks Sports Illustrated is the big leagues is nothing more than a phony, I’m going to get a rematch with her stablemate Taylor Swift and knock her out too.”

Emily fires right back, “Alessandra has gone downhill since Taylor took her down in June and I’ve only gotten better since February. I want my revenge, and tonight, I’m going to get it.”

Fight night:

Alessandra dressed in a black sports bra and matching spandex bottoms with red gloves, her hair up in a bun for the match. Emily in a blue sports bra with white trunks and matching gloves, her hair also up in a bun for the match. The two women jaw at each other` and when the referee asks them to touch gloves, they refuse to do so. Once the ref realizes that they won’t oblige, he calls for the bell and we are underway for 10 rounds of top lightweight action.

Round 1:

BAM! Booming punch from Emily right out of the gate that catches Alessandra by surprise and the Brazilian is quickly retreating as on comes the Sports Illustrated model. Ambrosio backs off enough to get some space and regroup as DiDonato is firing off punches left and right, her eyes ablaze as she faces the only lightweight to knock her out in her time at Fates. Ambrosio counterpunching and pops a right straight into DiDo’s mouth, and now it’s Ambrosio’s turn to go on the offensive. Alessandra turns her attention to Emily’s body as the SI model keeps her guard up and the Brazilian gets some solid body shots in only to get walloped by another massive punch from Emily and this one sends Alessandra back into the ropes where it’s all she can do to cover up before DiDonato unloads on the former Victoria’s Secret Angel. Ambrosio taking the punishment as she looks to clinch but Emily is able to keep her opponent in the ropes until the bell mercifully ends the first round. Emily triumphantly returns to her corner with the round win on points, wide, as she opened up strong and kept it up throughout the round.

Round 2:

Emily quickly out of her corner and she again opens up the round by looking for a huge punch on her opponent but Ambrosio neatly dodges the American’s blows and smacks DiDonato with a left to the chin. Emily tries to counter with a left of her own but she whiffs and Alessandra punches another punch into Emily’s chin and then follows up into her body, driving her backwards around the ring and into the ropes. Now it’s Emily’s turn to cover up and look for a clinch as Alessandra takes her turn punishing the body of DiDonato, targeting her ribs and chest as Emily struggles to clinch. The American model eventually does clinch and the referee separates the two women, and Emily keeps her distance after that. Ambrosio is ducking and dipping, looking for opportunities to go back to Emily’s body, which she does do repeatedly, but Emily cleanly answers the Girls Friday fighter until the bell rings, ending the round. Alessandra ties it up by taking the second round on points, wide, just as Emily took the first round.

Round 3:

Both women come out of their corners quickly and fire off powerful punches. DiDonato makes the first solid connection as she socks Ambrosio in the nose, drawing a trickle of blood from the Brazilian’s nose, but Alessandra doesn’t seem to notice as she goes right back to Emily’s body, thumping two big rights off the American’s chest. Emily quickly sets her feet though and powers home a solid punch of her own, now to Ambrosio’s mouth, and that one hurts the former Angel as a look on pain flashes across her face and she recoils. DiDonato wastes no time in going back after Ambrosio’s head and absolutely smashes a right straight through Alessandra’s guard and into her face. Ambrosio desperately focusing on keeping her guard up and strong and DiDo turns to her opponent’s body, working on wearing down Alessandra. Ambrosio shows why she’s a former champion as she takes Emily’s onslaught and starts working her own punches into Emily’s body. DiDonato backs off and the two women circle as the bell rings. The pendulum is swinging back and forth in this match as Emily responds by taking the round wide.

Round 4:

The older brunette model in Ambrosio charges at DiDonato to the latter’s surprise and catches her with a vicious punch that snakes its way through Emily’s guard and DiDonato’s response misses and Alessandra connects with a left to Emily’s jaw AND WOBBLES THE SPORTS ILLUSTRATED MODEL! Emily looking unsteady as she tries to keep her guard up as on comes Alessandra. The Brazilian Victoria’s Secret Angel gets into a rhythm, working Emily’s body, driving leather into her toned body and ribs, occasionally mixing it up with a shot to the guard just to keep Emily honest. DiDonato stays strong and keeps her counters tight, popping two good punches back into Alessandra’s nose, but Ambrosio responds with a straight right that knocks Emily back into the ropes. Ambrosio postures to keep her opponent in the ropes but DiDo bounces off the ropes and comes right back at the only lightweight who has defeated her while at Fates. DiDonato gets another quick punch in on Ambrosio’s head but Alessandra absolutely thumps Emily with two punches to the body that drives the air out of the American and Emily has to hold on during the final seconds of the round. Alessandra can’t knock her opponent down and goes back to her corner, knowing that she had Emily on her back foot.

Round 5:

Again Alessandra charges out of her corner and goes right after Emily with powerful haymakers, catching the American flush in the face with a right early on and Emily staggers backwards again. Ambrosio looking dangerous as she fires off faster punches that connect then winding up for another big punch – but DiDonato sees it coming, dodges it, and connects with a massive punch of her own that nearly drops Alessandra! The Brazilian is trying to regain her balance when DiDo socks her with a nasty right and then absolutely drives a left into Ale’s body that knocks the air out of the Brazilian’s lungs and she practically throws herself onto Emily as the SI model knocks her into the ropes. Ambrosio looking desperately for a clinch but DiDonato keeps her in the ropes, battering the older model’s body with lefts and rights as Alessandra groans. Emily keeping up the pressure even as Ambrosio squeezes a right punch in that knocks Emily back just enough for the Brazilian to escape the ropes and gather herself as she tries to jab Emily away from more big punches, and while Emily doesn’t land any more big ones, she gets plenty of clean, short shots in before the bell helping cement the round in her favor on points, wide.

Round 6:

DiDonato now the one who leaps out of her corner and it seems like it’s all Ambrosio can do to fend off the younger brunette model. DiDo pumping lefts and rights at Alessandra and switching up hooks, crosses, and straights, keeping the Brazilian on her back foot. Ambrosio has her guard up but DiDonato splits it with a powerful straight right and now Alessandra is backpedaling hard as on comes Emily. Alessandra gets some room and launches a right that sails over Emily’s head and then Ambrosio takes a blow to the body that almost doubles her over. DiDonato dekes Ambrosio with a left and the Brazilian falls for it and DiDo smacks her in the jaw with a right, spinning her head and then following up with a left to swing it right back and down goes the Brazilian! Emily steps over Alessandra’s body on her way to the corner and the referee starts to count. One. Two. Nothing. Three. Alessandra is trying to move her arms. Four. Five. Six. Ambrosio is looking up, a grimace on her face. Seven. Ambrosio starts to collect herself. Eight. Alessandra tries to push herself up but she falls back down! Nine. Ten. It’s over – your winner by KO6 – Emily DiDonato!

After:

Emily DiDonato’s face breaks into a wide grin as she raises her hands in victory before posing on the ringposts. Meanwhile, Alessandra Ambrosio is gradually getting her strength back. Once Emily notices her opponent is sitting up, she heads on over, to exchange a few words.

“Who’s top brunette now?” Emily sneers at Alessandra, then walks out of the ring as Amboriso is still sitting down.

“I told you I was going to get my revenge and knock her out. I think I’ve shown who the better fighter is right now.” Emily triumphantly declares to the press. “My only question is who’s next?”

Alessandra doesn’t show up for the press, the Brazilian bombshell having gone from lightweight champion to loser of three of four. She desperately needed the win tonight and came up short, and she needs to regain some traction to avoid slipping further down the lightweight rankings.
