BEFORE:
"No, I haven't been as active lately," says Milla with a devastating smile. "But. I can still do this. And, I'm about to PROVE it."
"She can still fight" asks Serinda with nod. "But, she can't fight as well as I can, because she never could."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's..."
McCarthy: "Terrible! What IS that NOISE???"
Cassie: "If you bothered to read the PREP material, you'd know that is 'Don't Fade Away' by the lady coming to ringside right now, Milla Jovovich herself..."
McCarthy: "Again, I don't read Weirdo's PROPAGANDA!"
O'Dell (sighing): "Milla of course, the star of 'Resident Evil'. She's into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing a white number that shows she's still in PLENTY good enough shape to do this..."
McCarthy: "Nothin' but a number..."
Tess: "Though YOUR number is getting awfully high..."
McCarthy: "Shut UP, Walmart!"
O'Dell: "Drink up, boys and drink in the sounds of Jimi Hendrix's 'Foxey Lady'. And, when you hear that song, it can only mean that 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan, is on her way to the ring."
Cassie: "Swanny another of those girls still trying to write her name in ink on the Tenth Anniversary roster."
O'Dell: "Serinda wasting no time getting into the ring. She's helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. Wearing that red number we've seen before, and the crowd plenty appreciative as usual. Ladies about ready and that means it's time for some picks. Tess likes Swan. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Nothin' but a number. Milla!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "First split panel of the night. Let's see who's right. Swan looking to get physical early. She's stepping to Milla, looking to work hard rights off the left jab and a GOOD right from Jovovich there as she circles away. Milla moving very well at the moment, creating problems for Serinda..."
Tess: "Sure is. Not sure Swan thought Jovovich still had legs like these..."
O'Dell: "But, she does. Swan not able to square her. Instead, it's Jovovich who's circling, turning Serinda, landing sharp right hands as Swan tries to get to her spots. Canadian not panicking, but she's certainly not getting what she wants at the moment, as Milla's calling the tune."
McCarthy: "If Jovovich can keep moving like this, she's going to win the fight easily. She's much more athletic than Swan..."
O'Dell: "Going to disagree with you, Mac. Serinda's VERY athletic, as we've seen. But, I do think Milla's movement has surprised the Canadian, and that's given Jovovich the early advantage. Ten seconds to go in the first. Another good right hand from Milla and there's the bell. Jovovich. Wide."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Swan starting to figure some of this out now. She's getting the angles down, cutting Milla off, getting her left hand on, and that's the key. Once she gets the jab on target, she can work the right hand off it, and that's exactly what's happening at times in this stanza..."
Tess: "And, at other times, Milla able to circle, jab, follow on with her own right hands."
O'Dell: "And, able to move IMPRESSIVELY well for a woman on the opposite side of forty..."
McCarthy: "As I keep TELLING you, nothin' but a NUMBER..."
O'Dell: "Jovovich moving, jabbing, Swan cutting, stepping to, getting physical. She's banging a little body, but mostly bringing the big guns to bear upstairs..."
Cassie: "And, these aren't terms Jovovich wants. Not a lot of lights who want to bang with Swanny..."
O'Dell: "Down to twenty seconds remaining in the second. Closer round. both fighters getting some, but not nearly all of what they want. GOOD right from Swan! Serinda's best punch of the fight forces Milla to cover up. Swan lands a nice flurry and there's the bell. Close to Serinda."
McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Serinda more aggressive as we start the third. She's looking to step to, walking through Milla's jab. Jovovich giving some ground here, but might have to punch for respect at some point and THERE IT IS! A BOOMING right from Milla and DOWN GOES SWAN!"
McCarthy: "What a SHOT!"
O'Dell: "Jovovich to a neutral corner. Swan down on her back. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Serinda rolling to her belly at seven. Pushes to her feet at eight. Referee going to give her the mandatory...and waive on Milla! Jovovich right to work, letting the hands go..."
Cassie: "Wants to finish RIGHT NOW..."
O'Dell: "And, that might be a good idea. She's banging away with everything she's got, driving Swan back into the ropes. Referee looking in closely. Serinda jabbing here and there, doing enough to keep him at bay, but she's taking a shelling right to the bell. Big round for Milla."
Tess: "And, Jovovich now up 29-27."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Jovovich back to work. She's sitting down on punches, looking to take Swan out of there, but Serinda banging right back now! Firefight in the middle of the ring! Both fighters tossing BOMBS and SWAN ROCKS MILLA! A BOOMING right from Serinda and Jovovich is wobbly-butt!"
Cassie: 'Like I said, not a lot of lights who want to bang with Swanny..."
O'Dell: "Milla driven back to the ropes and we're seeing a complete 180 from last round, as now it's the Canadian who's giving out the beating. Jovovich keeping the guard high, showing the veteran wiles, rolling with punches, firing back here and there, running clock..."
Tess: "While Serinda looks for the big shot that ends it."
O'Dell: "She's got about 30 seconds to find it. And, she's looking everywhere, tossing with both hands, all about getting her rival out of there. But, Milla avoiding it as the final seconds tick away. GOOD right from Serinda, but there's the bell. Swanny and wide, but Jovovich still standing."
McCarthy: "And, still leading 38-37."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Swan forward after Jovovich. She's walking her down behind the left jab, letting the right go behind it. Milla giving ground, playing defense, keeping the guard high right now. She's playing for time, wants to get the legs all the way back so that she can get back to movement."
McCarthy: "And, if she can do that, she can win this fight."
O'Dell: "Swan a nice combination. Backs Jovovich up. Milla staying off the ropes, though. She's got enough in the legs to do that at least. Swan crowding now, banging some body. Jovovich ties up, forces a break, circles away and GETS DROPPED BY A RIGHT HAND FROM SERINDA!"
Tess: "Wow!"
O'Dell: "Milla splashed to her back. Serinda wasting no time getting to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Six. Jovovich staring up at him, eyes blinking rapidly. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 is 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan."
Cassie: "Don't want to bang with Swanny."
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Serinda Swan, and, Swanny, she caught you..."
Serinda (nodding): "Nothing fluky about it, either. Just a good punch she set up well. Learned a lesson. Didn't think she could hit like that."
Tess: "But, YOU can hit, too..."
Serinda (smiling): "Oh, no doubt about THAT. I knew I could get her. And, I GOT her." |
