Courteney Cox vs Jennifer Connelly

Another cougar bout was the main event last night as these were quickly proving both popular and profitable.

It was now seeming that a lot of actresses who were over the age of 40 were returning to the ring in droves thanks to this new division in the FCBA.

Tonight Jennifer Connelly would be facing Courteney Cox. Connelly was returning to the ring after an 11 year absence. Cox was 7 years out of the ring.

Courteney talked about watching Jennifer Aniston manage and box at her bouts. She shows some footage of the two Friends stars working out at a Hollywood gym or it could be a GBS one. “You can see I have kept in shape,” Courtney says as the footage rolls.

Connelly also spoke about watching the cougar bouts and being excited as she had been looking to box again after some recent acquaintances asked her about FCBA experience. She shows some footage of her own showing her sparring, working a bag, running, working out. Jennifer smiles and continues to speak of her own body and training.

These two did fight once before with Jennifer taking a 1st round knockout in 2008.

The night of the fight arrives and these two come to the ring.

Connelly really turns back the clock by wearing Raquel's hot pink lace push up and panties from 1967's 'Bedazzled' for the bout with black gloves.

Cox wears a white bikini from some beach candids taken some time ago in the ring with blue gloves.

Round 1:

The round opened slowly with both boxers jabbing at each other. It seems the long layoff has made these women cautious. Both boxers seem to be moving and keeping their distance not wanting to fall for an early knockout. In the final minute, Cox lands a beautiful right cross followed by a left jab and slams home another right cross. This catches Connelly flatfooted and she covers up. Courteney and Jennifer soon exchange bust shots to the bell. Cox takes a close round.

Round 2:

Jennifer comes out much better as the 2nd round opens. She is able to get inside on Courteney with some great hooks that deliver hard into her gut. Connelly then gets her jab going and going into Courteney’s head. Soon some big rights appear but Courteney does well covering up and defending strong but unable to get too many punches through. It seems like Connelly’s gloves are touching Cox up anywhere this round. Jennifer wins the round widely.

Round 3:

The 3rd round opens with some good tight punching as the fans cheer this. Jennifer wants to go toe to toe with Courteney now. She is able to clip Cox’s chin with a couple uppercuts. Cox jabbing to get in range and then use some overhand rights. Then she unleashes some hooks heavy into Connelly’s gut. Jennifer resets and goes to Courtney’s ribs with some hooks of her own. An exciting rounded ends with Courtney having Jennifer to the ropes. Connelly covers up as she twists to take the pain off some of Cox’s body shots at the bell. A close round but won by Courtney.

Round 4:

The boxers come out in the same manner in this round as they opened the previous one with some more tight punching. Jennifer is able to get in and punch Courtney’s chin with more uppercuts. Cox seems to be caught in a Connelly punching storm as she is backed to the ropes. She goes to punch back at Connelly’s but gets 2 more crosses to her face. Jennifer sees she is stunned and moves in tighter. Jennifer goes to rock Courteney’s ribs with some rattling body blows and Courteney feels those shots slam hard into her sides. She drops her gloves and Jennifer knew exactly what to do. Connelly throws back to back uppercuts followed by a right cross and COX GOES DOWN! Jennifer looks down at her glovework on Courtney and walks to a neutral corner. The count passes Cox by and she rolls over by the count of 7. KO4 – Jennifer Connelly.

After:

Jennifer comes out of the neutral corner and raises her gloves up and down as she enjoys her win. She reaches mid-ring where her right gloved arm is raised.

Courteney is brought around and helped to her stool in her corner.

Connelly may have box 143 times before but she stays in the ring for pictures and congratulations from her corner team.
She leaves the ring a winner as a cougar. She smiles and the FCBA seems to have one of it’s all time best back in the ring.
