Kennedy McMann vs. Anne Hathaway(Words: GBS / Results: Lookout!)
A new boxer would make her debut tonight in the FCBA against a big name star, Kennedy McMann would be swapping leather with Anne Hathaway.
Kennedy was trying to be calm and collected in her debut. Her press fight quotes were what is usually said about wanting to win, box well, show you belong. McMann also talked about boxing against a well respected fighter in Anne. She did come off as a rookie but an impressive one as she did show some training footage before she weighed in.
The situation was different for Hathaway who had not made a good career in the FCBA. She had been with a couple stables but had neither a winning record or championship to show for her efforts. She was viewed as a stepping stone boxer in FCBA circles. She talked about changing that with a win tonight.
For the fight, Kennedy wore a green bikini with yellow gloves. She did seem nervous but her corner seemed to be talking her up. She was bouncing on the balls of her feet.
Anne wore a black bikini with red gloves.
Round 1:
The first round played out like a mismatch as Anne took it widely. Hathaway used her legs and was able to get some good long punches in on McMann. Some jabs at McMann’s midsection mixed with short hooks to her face were Anne’s opening punches. After the boxers circled, Hathaway did seem to be outworking McMann. McMann was able to deliver some good punches but Anne’s footwork and own punches helped her win the round widely.
Round 2:
Anne came out aggressive to open the second round. She fires jabs to McMann’s face and body. But Kennedy shows some good glove speed as she delivers some jabs to Hathaway’s face. Both boxers display some excellent footwork throughout the round with both getting in some quick shots and sidestepping or moving. Kennedy did seem to be delivering the timely punches as the round went. McMann takes the round closely for her first round won in the FCBA.
Round 3:
Hathaway comes out trying to crowd McMann as soon as she gets within punching range. She starts pounding McMann’s ribs, midsection and breasts. Kennedy seems to be in trouble and can’t get her punches going. Anne soon spreads out her punches to McMann’s face. Kennedy is able to get in a hard straight into Anne’s midsection which pushes the air out of her. Soon Anne has some leather hitting her face. Hathaway gets struck by these punches but soon rights herself and returns with some hard punches to McMann’s body. Kennedy is getting hit hard in her body and breasts soon. She falls back and Anne follows her. The rest of the round is a slugging match. When the bell rings, Anne is returning to her corner knowing she won that round widely.
Round 4:
Anne comes out of her corner hard, looking to open up on McMann’s body with a stiff jab or three. Kennedy ducked and slammed her right glove in Hathaway’s ribs. Anne gasps but continues to jab away at McMann. Kennedy smashes her gloves in Anne’s ribcage and midsection in answer to Anne’s jabs. Soon a real punch up happens as these two go after each other. This is broken when Anne goes to clinch with Kennedy. Soon the boxers are tied together. It is broken up and Anne backs away from Kennedy. McMann follows and keeps on going for Hathaway’s midsection with some powerful shots. The bell rings and Kennedy has won a close round.
Round 5:
Hathaway comes out slower as the bell sounds. Kennedy starts moving and jabbing at Anne. Soon she is throwing some punches towards Hathaway’s solar plexus. Anne goes to cover but get a head shaking hook from Kennedy. That really shook Hathaway up. McMann soon is punching Anne at any time she wishes. Soon she does drive 2 hooks into Anne’s solar plexus. Hathaway’s knees buckle and she is leaning in the ropes. Kennedy uses a right uppercut to her chin on her next punch. DOWN GOES HATHAWAY! Anne groans as she falls and rolls onto her back. Kennedy rushes to a neutral corner having her own corner yell this to her. She watches as Anne’s arms stay sprayed around her. KO 5 – Kennedy McMann.
After:
Kennedy enjoys the cheers from the crowd as she raises her gloves up. Soon she is waved over to middle of the ring.
She is declared the winner by knockout and had her right gloved fist raised. McMann has won in her debut bout over an Oscar winning actress.
Anne can only wonder how she remains a stepping stone as again she lost a bout and has been knocked out. Now she has lost to a fighter in her first bout ever. McMann poses now as a winner and soaks in cheers some before leaving the ring. Hathaway left the ring after the glove raising. |
